I agree with you. I was just talking in terms of him 'hiding' from the ball. He's obviously been crap as well but there's been no cohesion in defence to even try and play the ball to the midfielders. They're being completely bypassed.

I have big doubts about Southgate but you can’t draw that conclusion from watching Germany boss a third tier team at home. Not one Scotland player would make the England XI apart from (maybe) Robertson.

We have lots of individual ability and can do a very good job when playing behind the ball.
We've been absolutely shite this season but lots of teams including Madrid would be apprehensive of playing against us, if ETH abandons his one man midfield business; we did against City and beat them fairly comfortably.
