David De Gea

Would anyone accept Bale for DDG?
Never thought that he is as good as Caf and British media claim, though would have been in favor of this some time ago. Now he is always injured, and is getting older. He has always been a bit of a speed merchant so the age will affect him in the future.

Still, if he can stay fit, he would be a very good addition for the next 3 years. We practically don't have a single winger in our team.

I wouldn't touch Bale with someone else's barge pole. Too risky.

Why's that? Injury?

Yeah, tonnes of muscle injuries. We have enough issues with players like that already. We need robust players who can give us 50+ games.

His injuries are always muscular, not even impact. Do not want Bale, no way!

Its looking like James (Hamez) could be a realistic target that we could actually sign by todays headlines, we'd be wise to suppose CL football is needed to get it done.

DDG for Hamez??? Or would you want cash too?

Would anyone accept Bale for DDG?

It pains me to say it but yes, at the drop of a hat.

Bale would add another dimension to our forward play, actually make use of our set-pieces and guarantee 15-20 goals a season. Provided he can stay fit of course.

Losing De Gea would be a disaster for you guys right now . He is one of the very few keepers who can consistently turn a game from almost certain loss to a win . Superb shot stopper and range of distribution plus the security he gives to your defence . Break the bank to keep him .

Real are getting rid of James regardless of De Gea. I don't think it bears any consequence on Dave's potential departure.

That's a big if and the last three years have proven it's not worth the risk.

Losing DDG would of course be a loss, he is the best goalkeeper in the world right now. That said if we replaced him with say Donnaromma or Oblak and build a stable defence in front of them I don't think he'd be as big a loss as some fear.

What's people's thoughts on Butland. Was looking real promising before injury, I would take a chance.

Put Fellaini on goal if DDG leaves. That way he'll finally be allowed to use his elbows.

I think he's off. But I don't think we need to replace him. Romero has more than earnt hia chance at the #1 slot and Pereira is highly rated by Jose. Best use the money on the attack and review the situation next Summer.

I will believe he is off when it is official. I agree with your point regarding romero, i would have no qualms about him being our number one next season.

I would go as far as saying he is the third best keeper in our league right now.

He is very solid and with us needing many good players next summer maybe selling DDG off wouldn´t be all that bad. But then again if possible I would love for us to keep him here as long as possible.

Do not sell. Simple as unless he is badly pushing for a move. Its starting to sound like we aren't too bothered about letting him go which is madness if true.

Cash only. Madrid can 'ucking do one if they are trying to get one of the world's best GK's by slinging us one of their unwanted players - especially one with the traits to flop badly in the UK as did Di Maria.

James does not want to leave, so please let's not waste time and finances bringing him here just so he can sulk and leave if he doesn't hit the ground running.

I don't think Romero has done anything at all to warrant him becoming our #1, unless you have a weird nostalgia for the Howard/Carroll days of goalkeepers who weren't really good enough.

It still surprises me how many people in the CAF act as if other clubs didn't have money to match wages. Madrid are loaded and led the Forbes wealth ranking for football clubs for like 4 years in a row.

If we manage to retain de Gea, wages won't play a role. It will all be about how Mourinho and Woodie feel about the situation.

Ok, can you show some stats? How much have RM traditionally paid their GKs? Also, what's their current wage bill and how much their top performers are on?

There is no way RM can afford to pay a GK that kind of money, especially with their current crop of high earners. The only logical solution is for DDG to take a pay cut.

May be very bad for him after what Mourinho said recently no?

We have two games remaining and Mou said that Romero has to play one of these. Probably against Sotton.

Then he said that the last game he will change and he considers giving Joel Castro Pereira a game....

Might be what LVG did when DDG was not ready mentally to play no?

Do your own research.

Iker Casillas (you might remember him) was one of the highest earners on his team at 165.000 a week. That was 3 seasons ago.
This is a club that just spent 40 million euros on some Brazilian teenager that didn't play first division football until last week. Their president is a proper cnut of the worst calibre, but he knows how to make and milk money. The idea that they cannot match a salary for Spains nr.1 goalkeeper is either misinformed or wishful thinking.

He did play there for over million years so with an increase of 1,5% yearly that might have something to do with that as well.. But I get where you are coming from.

Got a horrible feeling that we've seen the last match of his United career. José has already confirmed that Romero will play the final, and today he said that the Argentinian will play either tomorrow or Sunday. In addition to that he's mentioned that Pereira might make his league debut this week.

if he dont want to be here then let him go, as above poster would i swap for Bale, Yes in a heartbeat, dont think its even an option tho, yes we would be losing the best keeper in the world for me but sometimes you just need a change, hes flirted with this for 2/3 seasons now.

Is it really that bad though? I don't think DDG has been as good this season as he has been in previous seasons.

Romero has been better than De Gea this season. I said it

Charge them € 70+ mln. They won't agree. So, ask for Ronaldo or Isco in return. They are getting the best keeper in the world and will get 10+years of terrific service from them. Moreover, he is Spanish and will be settled in his home country with his family. Woody, time to show your muscles.
