David De Gea

Could demand Casemiro +£50-60m. Solves our DM needs too.

Heck maybe even Modric.

Id take modric too any day. But Real wont transfer their best midfielder. Dont think perez is that dumb.

Also 60M is probably fair value in this market. He is a GK after all but we arnt desperate to sell so 70 maybe 80 should be what we demand. Probably dependant on which player real sends over.

I feel it's true DDG does want to leave then I'd want him to go this summer and be done with it, we'll get a good fee. And if we do sell him we need a top class replacement, no Kaspar, Pickford, Butland etc.

I think Butland could eventually be top class, but he needs to prove his fitness and performance levels again. Agree with the other two though. Especially Schmeichel, who is decent at best, but nowhere near good enough.

Oblak is probably the closest we could get to ready-made top class replacement. No idea how attainable he is though.

Let him live in Madrid with a goalkeeping coach and fly him in for games :nervous:
I mean, it's ridiculous, but also, why not? We have a game every 6 days or so on average throughout the season - the flight is 2hrs 30min. Private jet. Madrid for 3 days post-match with a personal trainer, training the day before at Carrington, where's the problem?

Are some of you for Real?

Kroos/Modric etc etc plus 30-40m

What next, Paul Pogba worth 90m?

He reportedly has a €100m release clause. That's significantly more than we'll get for De Gea. Little-to-no-chance of that happening.

Uh huh. Think I'll trust what Penna posted instead.
Not all of Salford is a dump! Also a stone's throw from where the team meet before every home game. I've seen him a few times on my walk home from work.

Everyone will want to do it. Why Manchester United, if our players aren't in Manchester. He won't integrate with his defence. He won't be able to work in view of the manager.

Schweiny was said to be going back to Germany every week and it was said to have put a wedge between him and the rest of the squad.

For some reason even though Butland seems a promising player, I can't shake the feeling he'll become another Ben Foster. It's one thing playing well for Stoke, but does he have the mental toughness to keep his nerve, especially if he makes a mistake and it being scrutinised to the extent it will.

Fair price for kroos is about 40M considering his age at 27 will mean limited sell on value. Varane should be 30-35M maybe considering he doesnt play that much. Modric will be 32 in sept, theyll be lucky if anyone wants to pay 25M for him. He is a super player though, 15-20M is fair.

De gea is top 2-3 in his position thats 60 million pounds. But for real he is spanish home grown so for them he is probably worth 10m more. 70 pounds is doable. 80 if woody finds a way to squeeze them.

Donnarumma is likely to be the replacement. (edit: donnarumma is out of contract 2018 summer) 40 euros will certainly be enough and too much. Fair value probably 30 euros. Raiola is probably doing the deal now. 2 seasons ago we didnt want de gea to leave, this season i suspect we will be happy for him to go though we wont say so out right. We'll gain a homegrown number 1 goalkeeper which is an asset for the long term, free up wage space, and if we negotiate well strengthen our squad with one of reals players.

Now I'm confused. Does he live in Salford or in Alderley Edge or whatever it was called?

Think he'll go and I hope Mourinho goes for Donnarumma, even if he is still a teenager.

I don't expect us to get €100m (£85m) for a goalkeeper and nor do I expect us to pay that for one.

He is the one of best keeper in the world, spain no 1, sure he's worth that. If madrid does not pay we have all the right to reject the lower offer , it means they dont want him that bad.

A spanish team can keep a 100 m euros release clause for a keeper and we cant get this money for our keeper if ever sold? Then Our outgoing buisness needs to be looked into.

Madrid don't seem that bothered about him, clearly they just want him for marketing purposes, since their keeper is also very good! As they aren't that bothered make them pay 60m plus or tell them to get stuffed, De Gea is on a long contract so we are in position of power.

Donnarumma is just 18 ,and he has a lot to develop. His catching and parrying skills are not very good and can conceed a lot of rebound goals in this league as of now. If we are to compete for biggest trophies he's still not developed enough to handle that pressure.

In this market he's automatically worth 70 m upfront raising to 80 - 85 m including add ones.

Yeah don't disagree with that, second best player in the world in his position! Why shouldn't he be worth that price?

People here are absolutely bonkers if they think we getting 60m+. €40m max in my opinion - maybe €45m with bonuses.

Weren't we supposed to get about 40m euros last summer? Now he has extended his contract we will certainly get a lot more.

I think the difference now is he's going to push for the move. It seems like it's now or never with Madrid since they not so happy with Navas

It depends how much of a fuss he kicks up. I really can't see Dave being a massive negative influence to get his way. It's Real Madrid man, they overpay all the time. United always have to pay more it's about time we fleece someone else for a change! Jose won't let him go for pocket change.

I hope you're right. It just has a feeling of inevitability at the moment.

I can see a chance for him staying if we end up finish 3rd + winning Europa League. I know the achievements are Mickey Mouse trophies (Europa League, 3rd place, EFL cup, Community shield), but winning those trophies show that we make a huge progress from last season and I think we can convince him to stay one more season and tell him that we are going for the league next season.

That's also not mentioning what a bunch of dicks Madrid were last summer, bidding last second and it not going through! Way to treat him like crap! Hope Dave hasn't forgotten that!

Probably not quite, just outside really. He is an academy product though. Great loan at Villa too and he is good with his feet. Was in the England 2010 U17 European Championship winning team.
I've not got anything to base an opinion of him on, tbh. They don't show Championship matches over here.

My main reason for asking is just that I would like us to find an adequate replacement whose "childhood dream" has been to play for us, not someone in a tropical climate.

If he's off we should get Modric off them if possible. Modric could play deepest ala Pirlo with Pogba and Herrera in front of him.

I would take Navas plus some cash in return, Navas is a top class keeper.

He is small and have a lesser reach , He could have problems in this league on set pieces and corners and crosses.

I'd rather have Casemiro than a 32 year old replacing a 35 year old, if we were going to include a player swap.

Same but think we'd have zero chance with him. Zidane seems to love him and rightly so.

If he does leave I just hope he spares us the goodbye letter telling us Utd will always be in his heart. Spare us the BS.
