From that link, Cerezo is reported to have said on Spanish Radio:

"Officially neither Manchester (United) or the player at this moment have informed us of anything.

"He knows very well that he can negotiate (with other clubs) but always that they have to pay his buy-out clause."

Seems like he is deflecting it a bit really. If this has being going on for as long as reported, they surely would know something fairly concrete by now.

Hope VDS stays on as a goalkeeping coach, he definitely has the credentials. Also would help DDG :) settle in with the knowledge of what to expect from team mates, crowd, pressure etc. from some who's been there and done that.

Calm down. I would be screaming like a little girl if i am logging in now and finding out that De Gea wasn't exactly done when it appeared so last night especially after what Fergie said

Buffon is just a preferred personal choice of mine, nothing more.

Don't know if it's been posted already but word is he is in the process of changing agents and agent a) wants a cut of agent b)'s deal. Could explain the delays over confirmation from Spain. Never simple with United is it?
 
Why is everyone assuming that he's a United player already? Can we all just calm the feck down? SAF said we are 'looking at him' which means we want him. He never said we signed him. So until David De Gea puts pen to paper, it is not a done deal. We should know, we've had nailed on transfers explode in our faces in the past.

Fergie: Of course it does. But we're looking at the same types of qualities because the one great quality that Edwin always had was his composure and organisational ability and David de Gea is very similar that way.

:confused: SAF called him an outstanding replacement for Edwin, and that was in response to a question where it was stated that the club had announced a new keeper. The comments from SAF in the OP make it pretty clear than everything is agreed.

After the Blackpool game, Fergie was asked about van der Sar and he explained that some time ago van der Sar changed his mind and considered extending his contract for another year. Then Fergie said he told him that this was fine but that Erwin would need to make a decision very quickly, because United were already close to signing a replacement for him. Then Edwin came to Fergie saying he would stick to his original decision and would end his career.

I think it's safe to say that De Gea is already signed or almost already signed.
