VDS will play on an extra year in a worst case scenario.
The denial probably has something to do with him switching agents, Ballague said Utd want to announce the deal on Monday but that's unlikely to happen until he changes to Mendes. I'm certain this will be officially completed soon.
You don't know that. Saying what SAF said without having something concrete would be insanity.
Are you interested in a friendly wager? I am certain he will be our new 'keeper. You don't appear to be convinced.
Yeah it's all to confusing at the moment.
Just heard Sid Lowe explaining it, it's pretty straightforward actually.
De Gea's involvement with his current agent runs out the end of the month and the deal with United has already been done by his new agent / team.
His lawyer issued a statement last night saying that no deal has been done as it can't be seen to have been done before he parts company with his current agent.
Ah, that explains it a bit better but still waiting for the official signing myself
Fergie wouldn't have said what he did on Tuesday if this wasn't a done deal.
I'm not sure what there is be so excited about in this case. Whoever was purchased there is no improvement to the team.
Longer term, yes.

You don't think David De Gea would be an improvement over Anders Lindegaard and Ben Amos?
Seeing as we're talking about the squad that starts next season, I'd say no matter who we purchase it will be an improvement!
Atletico Madrid goalkeeper David De Gea has denied reports he has agreed to join Manchester United and insists he will not consider his future until after this summer's European Under-21 Championships.
United boss Sir Alex Ferguson spoke in glowing terms about the 20-year-old earlier this week and speculation in both England and Spain has suggested De Gea would complete a switch to Old Trafford in the next couple of weeks.
But the Spaniard has refuted claims a deal has already been struck and wants, instead, to focus on the upcoming Under-21 tournament in Denmark which gets under way on June 11.
De Gea's lawyer released a statement to Spanish news agency EFE which read: "News has appeared in various media outlets today that Atletico Madrid's David De Gea has signed for Manchester United. I hereby notify you that it is not true a deal has been signed."
The statement added: "De Gea will not consider the contract extension offer from Atletico or any other offer until June 30 when he has finished his commitments with the Under-21 national team."
Ferguson has earmarked De Gea as the long-term successor to Edwin van der Sar, who will retire after Saturday's Champions League final against Barcelona.
Speaking after Gary Neville's testimonial on Tuesday, Ferguson told the club's official website: "We've been working on it [De Gea transfer] for quite a while. We identified him quite a while back as one we should go for.
"He's a young goalkeeper, very quick, good composure, presence and an outstanding replacement for Van der Sar.
"We were looking for the same type of qualities as Edwin, because the one great quality Edwin always had was his composure and organisational ability.
"With David De Gea, he is very similar that way."
Atletico, who finished this season in seventh spot in the Primera Division, remain keen to tie De Gea down to a new contract with his current one running until 2013.
Why is nothing ever easy?
It is easy, it's done. Boy just doesn't want distractions before the U21 tournament.
Fergie wouldn't have said what he did on Tuesday if this wasn't a done deal.
But what did Fergie say? that de gea resembles vds in many ways. thats all, agreed it wouldve been very cruel from him, but he loves torturing transfer muppets. lets wait for.the official statement.
Them's goal-keeping hands.
Got a pair myself, all the way down there at the end of my arms.
