Yeah I thought it was a bit off. A few underhit, like the one where Rafael got injured, and a few overhit or misplaced.

(This is the part where somebody provides stats telling me he had 98% pass completion.)

It's quite a tight pitch there so the diagonals he plays are harder to judge, but still wasn't his best display.

Utterly commanding in the area and better than his Arsenal counterpart in releasing the ball for an attack.

Whilst not having a lot to do today he dominated his box and was fantastic in the air. I love the guy. To think how young he is, is scary.

Best in the league, possibly the world too.

He deserves a new contract.

Tyler is a wanker. Dave has stuck two fingers up to the entirety of the British media and they can't help but try and justify their original outrageous accusations after every successful punch. Tyler needs put to pasture.

A DDG Falcon Punch ought to do the trick.

I'm 25 so I call him a kid to make myself feel younger! 25 to 23 not much difference! But in all seriousness he is a world class keeper, worth every penny.

Ah I know, I just meant it in the sense that he's an established performer now and not the skinny kind that arrived here from Spain. What a singing.

He's improving on such scale, it's almost scary. Not only that he's defending Joe Hart and giving him a bit of support which shows how great mentally he is.

I hope Vidic is okay because today he was hit by feckin man of steel. Just when you thought Schmeichel and Van der Sar cannot be replaced, SAF is signing pretty much an instant and proper replacement for this role.

Let's keep some perspective, he wasn't instant. But, he keeps getting better and better and the power he got on some of those punches would have made Tyson proud.

And we didn't even have to go through about 5 shit ones before we signed him! :)

Chris Woods must be doing something right with him. Physicality was always De Gea's question, and this season he's been looking like a proper hardman English keeper. That first punch was absolutely perfect. Got all his weight and momentum behind it and whacked it so hard it went way out to the halfway line. Second one showed a good mentality as well. Went after it with no hesitation even though Vidic and Giroud were in the way. A couple of seasons back he wouldn't have come out for that. Claimed so many high crosses as well. Best keeper in the league for sure and possibly in the world for me.

He's fecking immense. He will go down as Ferguson's last great signing in my eyes. Van Persie was a no-brainer, this kid was a gamble that is starting to be rewarded in the most exciting way.

That punch was blistering. He has got a real attitude now and he is actually relishing the physicality with his new found strength.

Such a relief that we didn't have to sign a catalogue of keepers to replace Van. This guy is going from strength to strength and I am absolutely delighted that the likes of Redknapp can go get fecked for themselves! Sign the man up till he is in a zimmer please

I'm actually loving people claiming he is the best in the world too. Maybe it is us getting carried away, but either now or later he will surely be up there with that title!

It's not like an outfield player. Clubs cannot afford the long chase for a keeper as each club needs one, and 'now'. So whereas if he was a midfielder Barcelona might swoop, be content to be rejected but spend a few months circling, swoop again with a higher offer then play the waiting game untl the next window - if Barcelona cannot secure De Gea quickly (if they wish to at all) they'll have to move on to the next target.

There are very, very good reasons why big-money transfers of keepers between top-level clubs is almost unheard of and it isn't because nobody has wanted to sign someone else's

There's feck all chance of Barcelona getting de Gea this coming summer, so they'll have no choice but to move on to another target.

How have I never commented in this thread? Jesus Christ.

He's my favourite United player I think.

Yeah and unless they Fergie it up, they're not going to want/need another one for another decade after that.
