Another very good performance and good at coming for high balls. His kicking is such a huge advantage as well

Does he ever kick to the left side of the pitch? Not a criticism but just something I noticed, he only ever seems to kick it to the right side of the pitch.

It's our best outlet.

Good game from him again, I agree with Kouroux that he's finally getting the clean sheets he's deserved for a long time.

Yeah, he done it in the 2nd half and it landed right on Rooney's foot but he mis-controlled it.

On the radio broadcast the announcers kept reminding listeners about the "questions surrounding De Gea" with the periodic conclusion that De Gea "still much to learn". But don't worry..."one day he'll be a good keeper".

Another near flawless performance from De Gea. The usual great saves and reflex stops to keep our clean sheet. I think it really helps when Vidic is marshalling the defence. Van Der Sar had the luxury of having both Vidic and Rio (in his prime). Lets not forget De Gea is only just beginning to reap the benefits of having Vidic in the defence.

Quite game from him for large periods. But made some good saves when required, so overall a good game from him.

Good to see him get a clean sheet, he really has deserved more of them this season than we have got.

good overall performance but the defense especially deal well with aerial threat.
I just hope one day he will have more confidence to come out during corners.

He will man, he has already improved that aspect of the game since his arrival at this club.As he grows bigger, stronger and with more training/experience so will his confidence improve to catch those aerial balls

When called upon he did well.

There was one time that it looked as though Vida was a bit miffed at him, expected him to come out for a long ball and then he had to make sure to go clear it out. Must be tough though on DDG to get an understanding of such situations the CB keep changing. It's a blessing to have so many fit top quality CB finally - just not ideal for a keeper that is still honing is game.

Adrian Durham just said he thinks that based on this season he'd rather have de Gea than Joe Hart.

He's probably just trolling but funny someone in the media has said it

Pre-game on Fox Soccer - Wynalda and Barton were asked to choose between Howard and DDG. Strangely Wynalda went with DDG and Barton went for Howard citing experience. I detest Wynalda but, at least this time he had some sense.

Just saying...

There's more United fans than City fans, so the result of that poll are always gonna be very one sided.

Number of times throwing the ball between own legs: DDG 0, Hart 1

It was a full-on Taibbi

I heard that too. Eyes, finally, are seeing what's been obvious for the last 11-12 months.

Me wondereth what those who hilariously claimed to be "embarrassed" by the recognition of De Gea's ability here on the caf think now. They know who they are.

What is this "Series of Blunders" De Gea has made this season? I can think of two off the top of my head, which is a darn sight less than the points he has saved us.

If anyone ever states that De Gea has made "a lot of mistakes" demand they list them.

That's a bit of a bizarre picture of DDG. They could've gotten a picture of him in a match.

This place is ultra defensive of him. It got to the point that pro-Gea and pro-Lindegard camps were set up.

He's a great keeper with a bright future as our number 1, and the over the top criticism from the press has been, um, over the top. But lighten up a bit.

Fergie on David de Gea this evening:

"'He's like a young kid. He wobbles, he gets up. He wobbles, he gets up. Eventually he walks. The boy is walking now".

Brilliant.

Ferguson on De Gea: 'He's like a young kid. He wobbles, he gets up. He wobbles, he gets up. Eventually he walks. The boy is walking now'

Edit - Beaten. :p

DdG did the press conference with SAF:
"At the start some things went badly. It's complicated to adapt to another country and to do it so young - I had some bad moments."
