At least you have a point today. Doesn't make your post from the Swansea game any less retarded though and that will be shown by the fact that most will agree with you today I suspect, he could've done better.

I was right then and I'm right now. Its an area of his game that he needs to improve.

With Vidic back, it's now time for consistency at the back. DDG should've done better with their first but that should not be reason to start the rotation bollocks again.

DDG & Vidic should be starting every game now, with the other CB choice depending on form (I'd personally have Smalling with Vidic)

You weren't right about the Swansea goal, at all, and repeatedly stating that you were won't make it any more true.

He definitely could have done more with the first today, though.

I think Ferdinand ought to be starting but his fitness isn't permitting him to play that many matches on the trot.

Vidic has been poor every time he's played this season. He needs to prove much more before he gets back in every week.

This. It's no surprise that impartial posters sided against you the other day and sided with you today. You have an ulterior motive with DDG.

He'll get torn apart for that first on MOTD tonight (assuming it's on), but it will be interesting to see the reaction to Joe Hart's apparent clanger and compare the two.

Why do people care about Hart so much? Every single game you'll usually find something about Hart in the De Gea thread, or De Gea in the Hart thread.

I missed the first twenty minutes so didn't see his mistake. Was it as bad as is being made out? any gifs of it anywhere?

It wasn't that bad. It's difficult to say whether he could have caught it or not, but the parry was straight back into the danger area.

definitely not as bad as made out, just a poor parry.

heres Joe harts beautiful save. De gea should be doing this every game, right?

He could have done better for the first goal. Could of done nothing about the second or third. Very good awareness to not knock it back into his own goal with the Sammy Ameobi shot.

DDG gets slaughtered by pundits constantly, where as there's apparent bias towards Hart. I'm genuinely interested in seeing a contrast in the reaction between the two mistakes.

Two young, quality keepers for the two top clubs in England, comparisons are always going to be made.

Should have done better with the goal today, no doubt. Can't be faulted for Sunday's goal at all.

Apart from the goal he actually handled the ball well today in difficult conditions. A fact that will go unnoticed by those who've taken an inexplicable disliking to him.

What does De Gea's mistake have to do with Hart?

He (and we) got lucky today. It was his mistake.
Didnt cost us, so its all good.. He'll learn from it...

@kieto: If you came up today with your weekend's point, you'd absolutely be spot on.I'd definitely agree with you, DDG made the mistake you described.

Except he isn't slated by the media constantly. There's a general laziness to accept that he's improved after his first few months here, but a lot of what they say will be pointing out errors in his game. It's not as if there's a media agenda against him.

Hart gets the natural bias that comes with being British, the same way the likes of Bale, Rooney, Young, Adam etc have all received at one point or another.

He will make mistakes but its important for us to keep playing him to keep the confidence up. I think he's looked alot better on crosses lately so its important to keep that going, I think in a couple of years he'll be up there with the best in the world if we manage him correctly and stay patient.

First goal is very much his, but otherwise, how unlucky to have joined United at this period when the back four in front of him falls to pieces regularly.

Shocker would be harsh. Wasn't great, looked a bit nervous. The conditions didn't suit. Also, the commentary on ESPN completely, and unfairly, slated him.

A shocker? Hardly. He just had one bad moment and everything else gets criticized. He was never a worry.

Was he bad today? I only saw the full time score but my brother said he had a shocker.

Should've done better with their first goal where he parried it to the Newcastle player. Perhaps the conditions played a part, but I think it was a mistake.

Other than that, he did nothing wrong and I wouldn't say he had a 'shocker'.

Not great for the first goal. Was a bit unlucky that it feel so perfectly for Perch, but should have pushed it wide really.

Rest of the game he was fine. Had no chance for either of the other goals, and didn't make any mistakes. Made a few punches and that's about it.

Inevitably he'll be dropped for WBA though.

feck ian drake, the fat stupid cnut. I know at least 20 people that repeat his words every week.

My father's insisting that the first goal wasnt even his fault.
I thought he could have done better but a shocker? Never.

on the money.

My point a few days ago was that he needs to improve on his parrying, it's equally true today as it was then.

It's clear to see that you have issues with DDG. Anyone on this forum knows that.
I have no issue with him. If you think I have its probably because you over rate his abilities.

Fair enough, just my brother being a whingebag so.

He punched one ball out for a corner too which he should've just caught, that plus the poor parry on the first goal is probably why he's having such a whinge. Aside from that he was safe and his distribution as always was excellent.

Wasnt just the parry, he was a bit slow to react too.. Probably had the weight on the wrong foot. The striker was a long way out, there was no need for the keeper to commit (or begin to commit) either way.

I dont understand why there is a need to get so defensive about De Gea. He's still our #1. And he clearly has a lot of potential.

He'll be great.. but that was a mistake.
