He is pussy, and that's it. Awfull performance, and iif Fergie continues rotating, he shouldn't be between the post in next three of four games.
Quoted again

Shocking stuff. He looks frightened of defenders. He's shown great shot stopping abilities in his short time with us but he can't look so useless at dealing with crosses.

I'm bandwagoner because I'm attacking the keeper who made 4 goalscoring chance for opposite team, kill me.

Whoever defends him after todays perfomance is probably top red in your eyes.

What's it like being completely clueless about football.

you are fecking clueless, if every player was dropped for a few games after a couple of cock up's, we would have to field a team of kids.
Get a grip he kept a clean sheet away from home, what more do you want, do you expect him to be world class straight out of the box

Would have preferred Lindegaard today against Newcastle.. But he might have been injured, as he has just dropped out of the Danish national squad due to injury..

De Gea had huge problems today in the penalty area. Great reaction, to help the ball "stay out", but he started the whole episode when he didn't catch the ball..

yes it is. That is a terrible opinion for me. A player has to take full responsibility.

To say that others have responsibility is not to suggest that he shouldn't be stepping up to the plate. Yet if he has only managed to advance up to a certain point under his own initiative, it is surely the role of the club to see that the potential is tapped into further. Whether this be dietary and fitness or preparation for the physicality and crossing style of the Premier League

That's exactly what minutes on the pitch will do.

Depends what sort of keeper we want. For example it might in the short term be safer for him to stay on his line for example, yet if that comfort zone is allowed to become a pattern we shall be left with a weaker player than otherwise.

He played very well against stoke last season and ensured we got the point with some fantastic saves. No reason why he can't do it again.

It is true that he did avoid any major blunders from what i can recall. I imagine that both he and the team were on their guard specifically for that match. Not many of the big teams like to play them it ahs to be said.

His judgment making is better than what he showed today, he still struggles on crosses but I think he has gotten better than what he displayed today and will get better only if he is exposed to those situations and allowed to improve. It can't help his confidence that he keeps getting rotated, let him play a run of games and he'll be more assured like he was at the end of last season.

Perhaps, i think we'd all rather that the on the job training scheme was under way with a less flaky defence on the pitch.

Against a team who loves playing long balls into the box DDG was the wrong choice, but we kept a clean sheet so we can't complain too much.

If Newcastle had scored, when the ball was over the line/or not, it would have been 1-2 and Newcastle would have put us under a huge pressure. It would have changed the game a lot, and de Gea could have cost us points again.. His distribution was awful aswell today. If it had been Lindegaard, people would have slaughtered him..

Hopefully it will be Lindegaard in goal against Stoke..

What's it like being completely clueless about football.

He's a fecking bandwagoner. Probably only started watching when Ronaldo was playing.

Having said that, no matter who is in goal against Stoke, it will be a huge test and a really difficult task for either Lindegaard and de Gea. Stoke is so physical, and keeps sending the ball into the box, and test the keeper..

I missed the second half of the match today but there is no doubt that he always seems to get better and better when given a run of games, dealing with crosses is a bit of a worry but I do feel attacking players seem to get away with a lot more on De Gea than they do with any other GK in the PL also.

We could have gone down the same road after Van Der Sar retired and bought another ready made experienced goalie who'd have to be replaced in 3-5 years. The fact we went for a young lad,a lad who we'd scouted for ages and one which we hope will be our number 1 for many years was a bold move for Ferguson .The problem with buying young keepers is that you also buy the mistakes they will invariably make as they learn their trade.De Gea was a bit flappy today however that save on the line was world class and his distribution was wonderful but moreso what he did was put some more experience under his belt.
All keepers make cock ups,it happens.Watch the 99 season review and see how many goals Schmeichel conceded which he should have saved but what it doesn't show is how many games he won by his brilliance something De Gea will have to live with being a United goalie.Get behind the lad in my opinion he will one day be the best keeper in the world,he's learning his trade with the best there is and we will reap the rewards in the future.

Struggled today and rarely looks confident when dealing with aerial threats. I think some may have a point that he was over eager at times but it is a worry and he's clearly a target.

Dont know why he just doesn't stay on his line and let the defence sort out the high balls?

tbh though he looked a lot less flappy when he got back in the team last season so I blame Fergie for setting him back in his development

Yeah, but you're not playing for Manchester United and adapting to an entirely different culture. de Gea is a long term project, he has shown signs of his class but it could be another few years till he is truly world class.

So we can't criticise him until few years past by?

Jesus! He did flap a bit but we did also get a clean sheet today you know!

We kept clean sheet because our defence 4 played very good overall, De Gea is the last one who should get credit for that.

you are fecking clueless, if every player was dropped for a few games after a couple of cock up's, we would have to field a team of kids.

I said if Fergie continues to rotate keepers, then he shouldn't be between the posts for the next three of four weeks, I didn't said it's my wish or anything like that since I already said few weeks earlier that IMO De Gea should be our first choice keeper.

To sum up for the idiots who don't want to understand my post:
I like the lad, I have nothing against him, I already said he should be our first choice keeper, and I think he will be cracking keeper in few years, but he was awfull today, and could have easily costed us points today, so he should take critics. And he is pussy. ;)

You didn't criticize him constructively, you called him a pussy and suggested he be dropped for 3/4 games.

Again

The thing is he's only going to get better through games. When we signed him we must have known he would come with issues, he's a very young keeper adapting to a new league. I think it'd be good to do what Neville suggested though to reduce the amount of times he actually comes out for the ball and let the defenders take charge. Hopefully that'll avoid moments where he comes out and causes more problems than anything else. In the meantime he needs to seriously bulk up, I thought more would be done in the summer he really doesn't look any more muscular than when he first joined though ultimately it's about mentality rather than strength.

On the flip side he did make a great recovery and his distribution was quality once again and helped relieve some pressure when Toon had the momentum as we were able to get the ball out to players where they could take it down rather than have to compete for a header.

Once again for retard who doesn't want to read post properly: I didn't suggested, I said if Fergie continues to rotate keepers by form, he should be dropped for 3/4 games(judging by rotation in last three games, Lindegaard didn't have his best game against tottenham, he was dropped for two games, by that logic De Gea should be dropped for even more games since he was awfull). Once again, by Fergie's logic.

I read it. Your original post was still fecking stupid and something I'd expect from a bandwagoner.

Once again, you're clueless.

And don't use the word retard, it's idiotic, how old are you, 12?

You're telling me not to use word retard, but you are using word idiotic in the same post.

It's a bit different. Perhaps you should take a minute to actually look at what your saying, then remembering you're 9, and probably need to get some sleep for a day in primary school tomorrow.

No seriously, are you about 12?

I already I'm same age as De Gea.

On the football forum it's pretty much the same. We are talking about opinions, both idiotic and retard opinions are wrong, and have almost same meaning.

Idiotic - Showing foolishness or stupidity
Retard - An offensive slang used as a disparaging term for a mentally retarded person.

This is the thing, Amar. We're going to keep putting you in there in the football forum because you'll only improve with experience. There's many would have you banished because of your clownish performance today but I say no. He's young, he'll make mistakes. Let's give him that vote of confidence and see if he learns from his mistakes.

See what I did there?

At this moment in time, it is definitely very concerning that with De Gea in the team we have such an obvious weakness. There's no doubt whatsoever that his command of the air is not good enough, and that was evident today.

He's probably going to be an amazing keeper - it's just that teams are blatantly going to keep pumping balls up towards De Gea, he's going to keep fumbling them, and his confidence is going to get worse and worse the more this happens. He looked like he was shitting himself before one of the corners was taken today in the second half.

If your granny had have had balls she'd have been your grandpa.

I never said drop De Gea because he was awfull today, I said if Fergie continues to rotate keepers by form than De Gea will be dropped for the next three or four games(same as Lindegaard was dropped for two games). I would like Fergie to name him our first choice and stop this rotating keepers stupidity, but that doesn't change fact that De Gea had poor performance today.

And when did De Gea got so many fans out here, few months ago I was one of the rare people here who defended him.

He makes himself look worse by coming for balls that aren't his responsibility and that he has little chance of getting. Then there's the issue that every non-connection is deemed an error when in fact other keepers oft do the same.
