Not sure Chizzy beating Wright is a shock as such. fecking Suljovic beat Wade- am sure he beat him in the worlds a few years back- has a good run now and then and goes mental on the stage. Shame about Bunting- him v Lewis always good.
Whitlock through at least- would love to see him have a Wade-style renaissance.

I fear he might do a Peter Manley and slide out of sight in the next year or two. Shame cos he can still beat anyone on his day. Typical Barney that the only two tournaments he's won in 5-6 years were invitational events and no use in ranking points.

Now Whitlock there's an interesting one at 33/1 an e.w chance being honest pal the bottom half of the draw is wide open. As for Chizzy/Wright just showing the way the draw went. Wade got off to a flier tonight but Suljovic just pure and simple he's no mug and deserved the win because some of his checkouts were brilliant.
 
Only recently got promoted on here but great to talk to people who know their darts. Well Jippy roll on the next few nights at the City West, obviously from tomorrow with the start of the last 16 crowd, atmosphere and the darters will be electric.

My darts betting is atrocious. Never betted on it since losing all of my euro 2012 gains on fecking bets on the world championship later that year.

Peter "One dart" Manley a character alright love that bit of needle in matches too much niceties going on at times. As regards to betting only ever bet the coin and palm the notes 2euro e.w or an outsider with the bottle and the fight to give you a run for your money. Think from tonight the format will be longer and the crowds will inevitably be bigger. MVG v Huybrechts will have tension/needle no love loss between those two.
 
Well, well, well, last 2 days could've have gone much better for MVG, Power and wade yesterday and now Lewis and Chizzy have been knocked out today

Work was horrific so only got to see last leg of Jelle v Chizzy. Then seeing Webby beat a clearly off colour Lewis was like a BDO revival.
MVG was excellent when he got going. Huybrechts put up a fight tbf. Like a bit of needle in a match. Looks MVG's to lose obviously.
Randomly met Manley in a hotel a few years back in Portugal. Him and his missus were very nice tbf. Had a decent chat.

On the subject of BDO players Andy Forham won 7 qualifying matches and last leg decider to qualify for the Grand Slam of Darts and Martin "Wolfie" Adams will be making an appearance also. Lewis was way off last night but not to devalue Webbie can only beat what's in front of you.

That was some match had tones of Wade v Thornton last year. Over 17 180's in the match. It has been the week of the outsiders and a bookies paradise, in all fairness who could have predicted that last eight?

I'd say a lot of people who booked tickets "safe" in the knowledge there would be Taylor, Lewis, MVG, Wade, Anderson, Bunting, Chizzy and one outsider maybe.
 
Wales match is over so I can finally watch the final :D MVG bottled the hell outta that.

Same got back from home from work at 3-3. Great final to end a great Grand Prix.
Maybe the fans should not have booed MVG near the end but that's the way darts have gone.
 
They're playful boo's really, so I'm alright with it :lol:
 
i prefer the bbc darts where any score over 60 is deemed the winning total and everyone agrees to go home.
 
Wow, hell of a match. Harsh the booing and MVG's 180s were unbelievable, but good to see Thornton back. Such a battler.
MVG such a crybaby when he loses.
 
Of course the boos were playful, it happens in every event where the big favourite is under pressure.

Put 2 euro on Thornton on Monday @ 40/1 so 82eu back, well pleased.
 
European Championships starts on Friday. Been feeling a bit starved of 'arrers lately, so hope we have the big guns firing after the mental Grand Prix.

There is not many players I would bet on to beat Klaasen in a 1st to 6, can't remember the last time I saw him lose a 1st round match in a best of 11

Just know he had a bad car crash that mangled his back/shoulder, which is why he has that unusual stance. Amazing he came back from that tbf.

EDIT: Was an amateur boxer in his youth according to Wiki. He is one of the healthier looking players, ie no massive beer gut.

That's right, from trying to find out about the fighting stuff, apparently that ruined his boxing career, and even now still has to use some kind of special darts.

That should be s good match. Ando might need to be a bit sharper than he was today. Felt for Wade, he'd get back in it then Jelle would nail a big finish.

Watched it on delay to give the missus respite. Hats off to MVG and great game but feck knows how Ando lost that.
