MvG decimated by Phil
Taylor will still be winning things when he's 60.
That was was a bit of an awkward watch tbh, but yep, a lot of mutual respect.MVG in tears but great respect between the 2.
Hope so. Add in a couple of young uns coming thru....Having said that, it is fecking rare someome who isn't Taylor, MVG or even Lewis wins anything. With Taylor back to his best, Lewis and MvG just dropping off slightly, and returns to form for Whitlock and Anderson (not to mention the re-emergence of Wade) the next few majors could all be classics!
Yeah, feck me. Couldn't believe it. So and so first set then it kicked off. Superb match. The nine darters were obviously immense but those leg savers by Wade of 146 and 156 when Thorn was on a double were amazing too. One of the best matches since Barney-Taylor in the first world final, surely. Sad to hear about Thornton's circumstances and makes his performance all the more remarkable. His doubling in, jesus...I thought the Lewis-Painter game was good...Anyone watching this? Amazing game between James Wade and Robert Thornton.
So wanted Barney to win that...that last leg was immense tbf...Great match going on at the moment(ITV4) between Barneveld and Gerwen.
Until he met King. Amazing semis, but hell that final. Big fan of Wade but feel a bit sorry for King. Couldn't quite understand why Merv got the hump over Wade's celebration when he won- was clear it meant so much to him and that 135 checkout was as sweet as...Mental, mental match though.MvG destroying everyone in his path

Wade is one of the best battlers in the game! He has been so determined since he came back, to prove the doubters wrong having been ditched from the Premier League.
I wasn't the biggest fan of his in the past, but I think you have to respect the way he has fought back to the top.
The World Championships this year should be epic, all the top players are hitting form at the right time, though I do appreciate we are still a month or so away.
Whether Wade has the strength to go all the way in it, who knows but we certainly shouldn't laugh off the prospect!
Didn't the PDC offer to do that a while back cos the BDO was broke? They have a couple of players who are OK- Kist on form and Hankey, for example. But, year they are never on TV and built up as stars like they are on Sky...and as you say, they are generally a league below.Difficult to call, the rest of the GSOD. Taylor looks to be getting back to his best and there are quite a few candidates still left in the draw.
Bunting vs. Wade looks a cracking 2nd round match, as does Taylor vs. Wright. I think the thing we've learned more than anything is that (even though we knew it before) the chasm between the PDC and the BDO, from player skill level to spectator interest/ ability to fill venues of a decent size, is growing every year. I'm surprised the BDO manages to keep its head above water to be honest, I can't help but feel within the next few years there will be no alternative but to re-unify the sport.

Wade v Bunting my pick of the round too. Tough one to call. Taylor is back to averaging c109 and not sure MVG is firing properly. Taylor has to be fave.
No, Wright is still playing well. He just ground down tonight by Taylor averaging 105-111 which he has done all tournament. I think Phil will win it. He did do one awesome treble 19, double double 18 finish which was cool. Whitlock is an odd one- not quite sure how he is still world number 7. Everyone knows he is class on his day but he isn't really getting past QFs.Haven't been keeping up as much recently, watching a bit though, seems like Wright is fading away a bit, what's the deal with Whitlock lately?
Yeah Bunting won the BDO world title last year then moved over. Class player, already up to 28 in the rankings. He will be a nasty early draw for someone at the worlds next month.Taylor seems really fired up for this, expecting him to win alright.
It's a shame about Whitlock, I really like him.
Bunting seems far to good to be so new, crossover from the BDO?

Had to record it and watch it after the missus had gone to bed. Fecking hell, brilliant match. Big fan of Anderson but thought he was a goner. Best I've seen Klaasen play in years, he was excellent. Hope that kickstarts Gary.Anyone watching the darts? Anderson v Klaasen. Holy feck, such a game. Genuinely one of the best i've seen
Did you see Lewis v Keegan Brown? Hell of a game. Lewis taking the piss with a treble 18, double top, double top finish to win his third set. That Brown is going to be a hell of a player.Anyone watching the darts? Anderson v Klaasen. Holy feck, such a game. Genuinely one of the best i've seen

Saw him in the grand slam of darts when he beat lewis and barney but yep class from lewis in the end. Looking fwd to wade-bunting next.Yep, another cracker. Never seen Brown before i must admit but extremely impressed. Looks cool as a cucumber and has a confidence/arrogance that belies his years. Lewis did very well to get over the line.
