Darts

Saw him in the grand slam of darts when he beat lewis and barney but yep class from lewis in the end. Looking fwd to wade-bunting next.
Lewis-barney sounds a hell of a potential qf too.
Lewis -Barney certainly living up to the potential!

Nobody's set the world alight so far... what are the odds on Bunting becoming the first player the hold both BDO and PDC titles?

8/1 atm. Did play very well in beating Smith 4-2, don't what's been wrong with smith in this years championship, round 1 went 1-0 down, round 2 went 2-0 down then round 3 went 3-0 down. I like the look of Gary Anderson think it could be his year.

Anderson, MVG or Taylor will blow Bunting out of the water when they meet. Got a feeling about Peter Wright too. Frankly the top half of the draw looks brutal where to be honest I suspect Taylor will have a simple run to the final now.

Yeah Taylor looks a near cert for the final unless Bunting/RVB pull out some miracle. Other half of the draw is much harder to call with Anderson, MVG and Wright. Would love to see Ando win it, but maybe it reverts to type with a Taylor-MVG final.

Jesus, MVG has started like a train.

Thornton's hanging in there. Come on Thorn!

EDIT: Fecking ballsy effort there. Game on.

Barney should wear those glasses more often!
Taylor has a psychological hold over him, I expect an easy enaugh win for Taylor

Women's darts - Why? Why can't men and women play against each other?

What would be the point?

Until the women actually have some really good players its better they stay separate, otherwise they'd be out in the first round the vast majority of the time.

They tried that with that ok looking Russian bird but it quickly became apparent that she wasn't good enough.
The blokes hated playing her cos they knew they'd get the piss ripped out of them if they lost.

What a match so far. In fairness Anderson should be well ahead, he just keeps slipping at the wrong times and in classic Taylor style MvG is punishing every single slip.

Going be a top night of darts for sure.

Dunno about that. Ando let one slip but has nicked two now. Hope he can make it over the line.

Well if he loses it from here he will either have thrown it away or MvG will have played some of the best darts ever seen. As I was typing that Ando missed double 16 and MvG takes out a 149 finish. Menthol :wenger:

That was an awesome finish but YES Ando did it!!! Go Ando. Just need RVB to beat Taylor in some miracle now.

I think a Taylor v Ando final would be awesome. He just said himself he wants to play (and beat) Taylor. I'd like to see Taylor do it one last time, but like all three of them so not overly bothered, just want to see some great darts.

On a slightly different subject, it's sad to see Dave Clarke obviously suffering at the moment, but such an inspiration and truly heart-warming seeing him continue to present the darts. He's absolutely loving the matches this year. Respect to him and to Sky for keeping him on. I'm just avoiding Twitter at the moment as all the fecking clueless idiots taking the piss out of him are winding me up something rotten.

Would rather see RVB win. Not a massive Taylor fan. Need the big man to do another comeback though, poor start.
What's wrong with Dave Clarke? Has passed me by.

EDIT: Just googled it. Wow very sad being diagnosed at such a young age. Good on Sky like you say. Daily Mail actually did a sensitive interview with him to their (rare) credit.

He suffers from Parkinsons disease. If you look, his right side is limp, his right eye appears quite glazed and his left arm is all stiff. His speech is off as well and sounds robotic at times. But despite all that he is still a superb presenter who obviously loves the sport and his job. It just wouldn't be the same without him, especially as the sport till hasn't really got over or got near replacing Sid Waddell. (not that he could be replaced, but I hope you get what I mean)

I remember the crowd always used to give him shite when he got up on stage to interview the players, he loved the banter. I think most darts fans now love and respect him more than ever before. I presume boxing fans would feel the same as he covers the boxing on Sky as well.

Only really noticed his eye before tbh. Awful if people are taking the piss as he seems a thoroughly likeable bloke.
Hard to quantify how big a miss he'd be. He is a staple and people like a familiar face who is knowledgeable. Mardle is ok but actually prefer Part.
This match is a nervy topsy-turvy one. Scruffy set there. Glad Barney looks up for it at least.

I agree 100%. There's just something about Mardle that irks me at times, not sure quite what it is, maybe it's his bias for and against some players. Or because it's so obvious he would rather be playing than presenting.

I only really started noticing Dave's parkinsons after I read about it last year. But it is definitely more noticeable this year.

Mardle is clearly passionate at least I guess, but just gets a bit squawky and really isn't that funny. Part has a very clinical view backed up the fact the he is a three-time world champ.
I guess now you mention it they don't have Dave doing the live on-stage interviews- presume they are doing their best to help him work in a more controlled and relaxed environment. Still shocked being diagnosed with Parkinson's at 44. Hats off to him for wanting to carry on as normal, best as he can.

Am I the only person who despises mvg? Hes a total cock but all my mates love him. C'mon Anderson in the final.
