Danny Welbeck | Manchester United: 2001-2014

I think a lot are forgetting about Wilson in all of this because of the Falcao transfer. LVG obviously has faith in him and from what I've seen, I wouldn't blame him.

This. It will be really sad to see Danny leave United with him here so long, also that header against Madrid away is one of my favourite United moments. It's just sadly he shite in front of goal.

But as you said Wilson does look insanely good.So from United view it won't be a massive lost.

They are a rival for 4th spot, it's a terrible move from utds point of view

Meh. If a club tell a player he's not wanted then he has the right to agitate for his preferred destination. They've no right to dictate where he goes.

Huntelaar to Arsenal? It seems the club doesn't want sell Welbeck, so Arsenal moves to their 2nd plan.

It's not that. It's the refusal to go on loan.
He's a bit old to go on loan. He can do a job at a top team. He desperately needs playing time, he will be good for Arsenal and Arsenal good for him. It's selfish to want to keep him to warm the bench.

We want him out, during his time here he has been an excellent pro and done what's asked of him every time without fail, we can't deny him a good move.
He will improve one of our rivals for 4th place so of course it's not the best move for United but for him it's understandable.

I think we should send these lads in to help Arsenal get this deal done.

Find it really strange the way people see this sort of thing from the players view. Like they want good things for footballers who aren't Manchester United players (any more). Can't relate to that mindset at all.
Agreed.

If Welbeck were to score the goal that gave Arsenal 4th and left us outside the champions league for another season, would these same people have the same feelings?

Hernandez.

 Letting him join Arsenal. Whoever is involved in sanctioning this can feck right off.

Arsenal have one decent striker who's injured til 2015, and we're solving that problem for them. Just feck off. I tell you right now we wont finish anywhere near City or Chelsea, so if we're that confident of getting top 4 even after strengthening our biggest rivals for 4th place then we better fecking deliver. This whole thing is an absolute shambles.

This. Let them struggle in their search for a striker and play Sanogo up front, who looks like a donkey. If Arsenal don't get a decent striker then no top four for them. We just helping them.

I said in the last Welbeck thread that LvG wouldn't rate him but no one wanted to believe me.

We're strengthening our direct rivals with whom we're going to compete for 4th place and needed a striker badly. Fecking joke. Woodward is an idiot.

John Cross on Welbeck
Arsene Wenger is making a late move for Danny Welbeck - but no deal has been agreed.

Arsenal insist that Welbeck is NOT at London Colney, is not having a medical and the feeling is that Manchester United are reluctant to do business with a direct rival.

Welbeck is believed to prefer Arsenal to Tottenham with United ready to loan him out for around £2m.

But at the moment, Arsenal are not confident on Welbeck - but are in the market for him.

I knew it, I fkin knew it. I said as soon as it became known he was potentially leaving that Arsenal would snap him up. And I'm gutted. He will be Arsenal's top scorer this season and I'd be surprised if he doesn't score 15+. Very good in the buildup and given a run up top will get goals too.

Yeah, he was acting terribly when he was our best player against Munich, and looking really good in pre-season. Horrible attitude.

This. Regardless of how he has felt off the field his work rate and urgency on it have been nothing short of phenomenal. It's a fecking shame if we let him go.

I knew him as a kid, we were in the same year at primary, even kicked around a tennis ball around the yard a bit with him (easier to sneak in than a football, it wasn't allowed - concrete yard). He's a good lad.

LVG rates him. We saw him to came on from the bench to replace RVP. But he doesn't trust him to replace RVP for the whole 90th mins.

Can someone explain - from the player's perspective - why a permanent move might be preferable to a loan? Signing on fee?

He's securing his long-term future at the club, instead of potentially finding himself back here again and unsure of his position in a year if they can't agree on a fee.

Even when leaving - a result you'd surely think he's wanted for years - Lynk is still finding ways to chastise Danny Welbeck

You couldn't make this shit up.
