This is horrible, puts a real dampener on Falcao.

Wait until Falcao starts banging in goals for fun for us and then that'll all go away. This deal is what's best for United and Welbeck. I say good luck to him, but we'll have to move on.

The problem is I can definitely see him helping them to fourth - if we don't beat Arsenal to it, then all of Falcao's goals will be worthless.

Let's also remember that Welbeck has wanted since before Moyes left.

The sudden availability of Falcao for us probably made it viable for the club. Still hope it's a loan or a silly fee.

@mufcwarm92 @Beachryan we've sold youth products countless times before, this isn't much different. I can remember being miffed we sold Keith Gillespie, it happens.

United is a conveyor belt. For every hot prospect we lose there's an Adnan Januzaj or James Wilson coming up behind.

Welbeck wants game time, the club won't give it to him, he's found a big club to go to, let's send him off gracefully.

Also Fergie broke the British transfer record loads before we won the 93 title. He broke it a lot after too. We always spent big before Glazer, even when the class of 92 were mature eg Rio, Van Nistlerooy, Veron.

When Arsenal did the double in 98 Fergie went on, what was at the time, a spending binge for the likes of Stam and Yorke.

We have always given youth a chance, but we have always supplemented that with big buys. At least before Malcolm and sons came in...

Welbeck deserves to play for the club he wants, i'd chose arsenal over spurs any day, no hard feelings whatsoever.
You're not wrong here still feels wrong that he goes to Arsenal, even worse if he's sold instead of loaned

This is different, he isn't a youth a player he's in the first team squad. e aren't selling him to midtable teams we are selling him to a direct rival for 4th place ffs.

Has anyone said that Wenger will turn him into the new Henry yet like they do whenever Arsenal sign a young black winger or striker ?

That was under Moyes, every single player wanted to feck off. Shame to lose a talented home grown player. Now watch him become the top scorer at Arsenal :)

Its just weird though having to support an arsenal player. We get danny back after a great season with our rival team.Well done danny! good to have you back son? How does this even work?

Obviously I'd rather keep him but I won't be losing sleep over this. Come on, guys! We've replaced our 'shit' striker with Falcao! And will Welbeck ever be as good as Falcao? I really really doubt it.

I actually think he could do well for Arsenal and therefore I don't want him going there. He may not get as many goals we would like but he will get plenty of chances created for him at Arsenal.

I got no problem with a player being ambitious enough to move rather than be 3rd, 4th option. Every footballer should strive for regular playing time.

He is going to make all the difference to Arsenal. He never got a real chance here. This sale is going to keep us out the champions league for another season.

I thought you wanted him out, why you telling him to do one?
I never rated him, but at least leave with some dignity ala Hernandez and Kagawa. He has been acting the twat since March.

Will be weird for him when he will be booed at Old Trafford when returning. But he deserves it.

How do you work that out? For being told he has to leave the club? And so trying to work out the best deal for himself in order to do just that? Yeah, how dastardly off him.

He should have just gone to QPR right?

SSN have essentially confirmed that we are not forcing him out and he has the choice to stay.

Why would we move him on to a main top 4 rival? He may not be prolific, but he is a very good squad player. All we have left is wilson (not too shabby) and a possibly op bound rvp. Slim enough pickings.
