Arsenal fan's aren't exactly on board with this... It'll be annoying if we let him go there though.

Any word on whether it's a loan or permanent?

I can't believe this. Spurs is one thing, but if Welbeck starts performing consistently he could turn Arsenal into title contenders. Ridiculous decision. Won't surprise me if he responds the exact same way Sturridge did after signing with Liverpool.

The Arsenal fans will love him, he'll run all day and with his link up play and speed he could be deadly in Arsenals system.
Bit gutted to see him join a rival but with Falcao, Rooney and RvP it's better for himself and the club if he left.

So Arsenal didn't negotiate with us for Vermaelen and asked for a stupid deal and now we're giving them Welbeck? We shouldn't do business with that lot.

To be fair we did get RVP off them and they signed Silvestre of us. We kinda owe them! :p

Arsenal is in a bad condition with no striker since Giroud is injured. Falcao is ours now. Remy moved to Chelsea. They don't have many options in strikers. So better don't let them to have any strikers

This!!

But never stopped Chelsea and City winning things.......

He really won't. He's a good striker and will get a decent number of goals, but he's going to have to improve massively to get them to the level of title contenders if they aren't already. He's not really any better than Giroud, for example.

Indeed, his style of play will really suit Arsenal as well, in my opinion. Those flick ons/quick one touch movements he makes are perfect for such a team. If he can start finishing consistently, it will be worrying indeed.

I have no ill feelings towards Arsenal frankly. Great club and their fans are pretty decent.

He'll do well at arsenal, team is suited to his style of play. Good luck to the lad, I hope he proves a few people wrong!

We can't have it both ways. Either, he's good enough to make Arsenal better - in which case he's good enough to make us better and he should stay - or he's not good enough for us, thus we should be prepared to sell him to whoever. If it's Arsenal, so be it... just be glad it's not Liverpool.

Ultimately, Welbeck needs to do whats best for him, and what's best for him is clearly a move to Arsenal.

Out of all the players i wanted to stay at United he headed that list. I agree with getting rid of the deadwood like Cleverley, Nani, Anderson, Hernandez but Welbeck?!

We'll regret this, we really will

Wud rather arsenal win than the chelsea or City! Anyways, I think those three are odds on to take top 3 spots anyway.

So, have we decided that Arsenal are no longer a direct rival to us?

Are we resigned to another season of rebuilding before we can even challenge for top four?

Or do we just think that Welbeck is so bad that he will not really improve them?

Great move for Danny though.

And Arsenal have a striker who'll suit them perfectly and still has lots of potential..

Yeah ok then.

He doesn't fit them any more than he fits us, it's not him "fitting" that's the problem.

Not sure if arsenal fans are happy or gutted to be getting danny boi. He isn't the best goal scorer but has a great work rate.It would be a huge risk for his career if this is a loan move.Failing at arsenal would mean returning to united and that could get awkward to say the least!

Its important to keep a good English core, and he's one of the few genuinely talented English players atm. So so dissapointed with this.

Is anyone at least a little, erm, perturbed by this change in philosophy? Sell local lad that we've developed who may not quite be at the highest level, bring in relative mercenary world class talent.

Winning is obviously part of why I love United, but I feel like this particularly switch kind of kills another part of it.

Can see him fitting in well at Arse unfortunately. Hopefully he is still Bambi on ice in front of goal for them, even so a big upgrade over Sanogo. Seems extremely silly to let him leave to contenders for top 4. I could understand if Arsenal were going to get someone regardless but without Welbeck they don't look like getting anyone so we should be making them suffer.

So they are finally going to replace Henry? :(

or

Wenger could turn him in to a Henry ready to become of great use for United again?
