I think this is where people are overrating him a bit. He'll be effective for Arsenal and a decent buy, but I don't think he's going to be devastating as such.
He will! That doesn't mean he will score all their goals, but he will score a decent amount and will help out in defense and pressing in big games as well (where u can't rely on Özil or Cazorla for example to do that as they are different players)

But I wouldn't really class scoring a decent number of goals and putting in a big defensive contribution as being particularly devastating. Effective, yes, but not devastating.

Why are we giving him to Arsenal? Have they offered us silly money? No way should we be giving him to our rivals for CL places.

Why are we fecking strengthening a team better than us? Only we could ruin today's work with such a myopically stupid sale. Pissed off. He has a future here.

But he ultimately can't be guaranteed that here. I like him, but it makes sense for him to move since I don't think he's good enough to lead the line for us if we have title ambitions.

But why not? Surely it's more logical to lick players judging on their form than on names.

Very sad to see him going to Arsenal. Good luck Danny, just not against us.

Gutted about this for a variety of reasons. I have my opinion about what he offers and I think over a season we'll be weaker without him now without a similarly athletic replacement (falcao and Di Maria who can play in two of the positions Welbeck covers are obviously significant upgrades from a technical perspective)

Good luck Danny, we will miss you. :( I hope it's only a loan deal but I'm still pissed we're helping Arsenal. I'm very angry about the idea of helping a club that is direct top 4 contender that currently has no striker and providing them with a striker.

If it's a loan you just about back it but if we are selling him then that's not good.

I guess this sort of thing is the price we pay for our wish of superstar signings.

If he was going to Newcastle or Hull, then yeah, good luck.

If he's going to Arsenal, I hope he does shite. Why would we want him to help Arsenal?
That's not your issue how I want to wish him luck for Arsenal. It could easily be that he does well but Özil has stinkers or whatever. I don't want him to see at a shite club. It's now up to us to better Arsenal.

Think he'd do well at Arsenal, could see him linking up really well with Ozil, Ramsey, Cazorla and Sanchez.

That's a rubbish deal for us and will help Arsenal massively, at least until Giroud comes back. They were in deep trouble if they had to rely on Sanogo.

There you go Danny's off to Arsenal. Decent player, it's a shame he's off but with 3 world class forwards at the club he'd barely get a sniff.

He's a good player and that but he's massively overrated on here for some reason, even now, and we'll see that when he's playing week in, week out for Arsenal. His finishing is atrocious and I don't see it improving any time soon.

As I've said before, I think Wilson will be the better player by season end.

I'd rather Welbeck go Arsenal than Tottenham as I fecking hate Levy, and any opportunity to shaft him should be taken.

So Arsenal didn't negotiate with us for Vermaelen and asked for a stupid deal and now we're giving them Welbeck? We shouldn't do business with that lot.
