That would be United fans given they were the ones hyping welbeck up silly.

Nope. Not just them. Press, Arsenal fans, ex United legends. All giving it the "shock" we let him go, as if it was even anywhere near when we took VP from Arsenal.

Welbeck: 1
Falcao: 0

:)

To be fair if Falcao was playing up top on his own for Arsenal I think he would have scored a few already. Arsenal have done brilliantly creating so many clear cut chances, just a shame they've been struggling to put them away.

He was bossed by Kaboul and Verthongen yesterday, he was really poor.

That miss is comedy gold, that's the second miss like that this season. Happy he is gone

To be honest Wenger's comment about him not being signed if he'd been there gives the game away. I'm sure he only intended to have him on loan until January to cover for Giroud's absence, then send him back to us.

He just isn't a goal scorer. He doesn't have the typical predatory instinct top strikers have infront of goal. He also isn't suited to a tiki taka team likes Arsenal because he isn't great at unlocking tight, deep defenses. He is more of a counter attacking forward, thats why we started him in almost every big game especially in Europe where there would be plenty of space for him going forward.

Giroud will bench him when he comes back.

His fresh air shot was absolutely fantastic. The kind of thing you expect to see from a centre back trying to nick a goal late in the game.

On the caf, it was mostly our fans. The arsenal were telling our embarrassing lot to get a grip.

That was Wenger saying that the deal wouldn't have happened if he'd stayed in London, as he met someone (Welbeck's agent? Fergie?) in Rome, which lead to the deal going through. Obviously the quote was then misconstrued/ misused by sections of the press.

His new Sky Sports interview was quite good.

Wish the lad all the best.
what did he say?

At the moment, he's not really under threat given that his next best competition is Sanogo. Giroud himself has had some catastrophic misses for Arsenal too so he's not that much of a threat to Welbeck. But He better starts scoring b/c there are already rumors about Arsenal and Cavani.

Right, ok. :)

My word, talk about misinterpreting his words

Welbeck being Welbeck. People were so upset when he left because they thought that somehow his penchant for fluffing sitters would magically disappear once he left United.

He was, is, and always will be Emile Heskey like in his ability to miss sitters.

I saw his future as a Ji Sung Park like player. It's too bad he didn't want that role and good on him for getting the biggest opportunity of bis career.

Decent run in behind, then the kind of chance you would expect any striker to score.

Are we allowed to want him to score in the CL as it won't affect us?
certainly doesn't bother me much. It's the goals that he scores that take Arsenal to a top 4 place while we struggle to get there that will hurt.

Nearly a hat trick there.

FFS why did we have to sell him to a direct competitor. Though these goals in CL don't affect us but still should have made them play with Sanogo.
