Jesus, you lot just love to overreact.

You are in a surprise if you compare Welbeck and RVP finishing. Lets put it this way, you were lucky that he missed that ball.

EDIT: tbh gif is hilarious :)

Shhh, you can't say anything bad about Daniel!

I feel a bit sorry for Danny.

If he was average in all of his skills he'd have a decent average career for a decent average club and probably be happy with that.

Unluckily he has great attributes making him seem to underachieve with his talent.

His problem is that he's missing the two key elements the best strikers need. Finishing and anticipation. You can train finishing up to a certain degree but anticipation needs to be in your blood. It's more of an instinct and Danny doesn't have it.

I still love watching him play and he's definitly better than average but I think he won't be able to meet the expectations and hopes lots of us had or still have. And no matter how much hard work he puts into it, it won't be enough.

How lucky is Datguy though? I should have said 'how good' to annoy the anti Welbeck army more . Anyway, he gets to work with two of the biggest and best managers in world football. He'll have one heck of a story to tell his kids when it's all said and done.

The dream Mikael Silvestre is living right now.

His air shot just before the goal was pretty hilarious . I was pretty sad when he left but now I'm thinking he may never learn how to score.

Did as much as he could with poor service. He would have been useful to bring off the bench today for us actually. RVP offered nothing as an outlet in the second half.

It's probably starting to dawn on Arsenal fans that they haven't signed Henry mark 2, but they've signed a good back up striker.
As soon as Giroud's back he'll be out playing wide.

He has fierce competition for the wide positions. If he doesn't start scoring, then he may well be benched for Giroud.

Personally I don't give a crap about Welbeck. He never made it here...and he won't at Arsenal. There were rose tinted glasses about him at United, but he was never going to be the 25 a season goal scorer that even Fergie said United needed. When Ferguson first arrived, he said it was a amazing that none of the United strikers recently had got more than 20 goals a season. He signed McClair...who I think...and I know there are people on here who will prove me wrong...got over 20 his first whole season?

I could see him getting 15-20, but I think Bony racked up that many last year. There are so many games, it's almost rude not to if you're playing up front each week.
But he's destined to be a player that does the hard bits well, and then bungles the easy finishes.

Today was farcical, almost a tap in a few yards out, completely turd burgles it and lucky for him the Ox is behind him.

Ah yes, the classic gif defense. So you're saying Welbeck is capable of being a 30 goal a season striker? Otherwise that gif is pretty pointless.

Was just wathching his interview on SSN and he refers to Moysey as David Gill

Edit: In fact after watching the whole thing, he is actually on about Gill.

Or it could be proving that it happens to the best.
Of course strikers miss chances. Welbeck just happens to miss a lot more. I mean jesus, you could easily make make a vine of 6-7 sitters he's missed since joining Arsenal.

He connected with all of those, though. This was a complete mishit, which is why I can imagine Eboue posted the RVP GIF.

Yep, now he's playing through the middle I can see why he was always going to be better than Sturridge!

he's missed 2 sitters and 5 clear cut chances in total(if you include the sitters) so far.

That would be United fans given they were the ones hyping welbeck up silly.

Errr, the answer is still yes.

He was good in the first half for me. I missed a bit of the second half though. Bad miss obviously.
Get back to me on that when he does the primary job a striker is there to do - put the ball in the net on a regular basis.
