keep the piety in the dressing room or maybe after scoring a goal.

i would pull him up on it regardless of his religion if he practiced it every fecking time for a couple of mins before kick off in teh middle of the center circle regardless of his religion.

I reckon we have other pretty religious lads in our side, but none of them treat the pitch like a fecking church every kickoff.

I'm surprised you're getting so worked up about something so personal and trivial.

If that's the pre-match ritual he wants to go by then what's your problem? Seriously, ridiculous argument here. If he was stopping to do it when one on one with the goalkeeper, fair enough, but there's no problem with him doing it before the start of a match.

GCHQ has again been banned from the United forum.

Won't make a difference. He's more interested in the United board members than the actual team anyway.

He should set up his own forum dedicated to the United business hierarchy.

pogba hasn't shown the same progress or talent as welbz. not a like-for-like comparison.

more like how jesus freak got a re-negotiated contract with a pay rise after a decent first season.

What the feck? Are you serious? You need to chill the feck out with these stupid comments, if he wants to practice his religion then let him do so in a Christian country. He is doing no wrong.

Also why the feck have we allowed Welbeck to enter the last year of his contract? Its like we are deliberately trying to shoot ourselves in the foot.

Seriously though, any indication as to why he's missing?

I'm sure we'll get an update. As long as we don't get an idiot interviewer

It's hardly a promising situation for Welbeck if we're trying to get Van Persie. That one will quite heavily delay his progress and he seems like the type that simply loves playing.

Nothing on the official site or Nick Coppack's twitter. It doesn't help that there hasn't been a pre match press conference but I'm sure there'll be one after the match where we'll find out why he's been left out.

Yeh it's probably something as simple as an injury. Paranoia creeps in when there's all this contract talk though.

Danny Welbeck will sign a five-year contract worth £75,000 a week at Manchester United.
The England striker, out of Wednesday’s clash with Italy through injury, will end protracted talks about his new deal.
Welbeck, 21, had been reluctant to sign another long-term contract until his salary reflected his growing status as Wayne Rooney’s regular strike partner at United.

Five more years: Danny Welbeck looks set to sign a new deal with Manchester United
He made 30 appearances in the Barclays Premier League last season after forcing his way ahead of his rival forwards at Old Trafford— Dimitar Berbatov, Javier Hernandez and the departed Michael Owen.

He scored nine league goals for United before he was taken to Euro 2012 by new England chief Roy Hodgson. This season, Ferguson has set a minimum target of 20 goals for Welbeck, who now has nine England caps.
His new contract, to be signed imminently, is packed with incentives based on future performance.

Will be absolutely delighted if that's true. Really can't wait to see how he progresses.

I think SAF is too proud of Danny to let him go on the cheap. He's been loyal to the club for far too long and he's been willing to do whatever it takes (loan spells) to nurture himself into a proper forward and a future Manchester United star.

This might sound a bit cheesy but I'd prefer if we could keep him, over signing someone else as a replacement. In the end, players like Danny is what this club is all about - A tradition I'd love to see continue.

I feel the same way, I would include hopefully getting Nani to sign an extension to this as well. Losing either one would not be good at all.

For a player who should be aiming for around 20 goals next season no. Think he will continue to get better and better next season, even more so now we have Kagawa and hopefully a fully fit Cleverly for the season.

It's about right. Any top 4 player starts negotiating for £100K a week after City paid Bridge £100K. It'll have review clauses after two years as well.

Great news that he has extended his contract. If he continues to develop at the rate he did last season he is going to be one of our main players for a long time.

£75k is more than people were thinking, but if you compare it to the wages that we would have had to pay if we signed a replacement player with the same potential and age then this is a good deal for both parties

Hopefully it gets confirmed on the official page shortly.

Wasnt that O'Shea 80k story was bs.

Anyway, his peers have been on comparable wages for a while. Both Sturridge and Carroll earn around 60-75k..
It is a lot of money, but wages have inflated along with the transfer fee.

The line from the club has been that if you make it as a player, you'll make the money.
Welbeck has proven himself to be good enough for us. He deserves whatever he gets.

Pleased for him if true and delighted that this is sorted.

First you were on about the 'Jew Glazers', now you're moaning about the Catholics. Would you like to have a go at the Wiccans next? The Zoroastrians, perhaps?

Go forth and multiply.

O'Shea left United about 8 months after the £80,000 per week stories came out, unless he had an extraordinary desire to play first team football for a mid-table side or Sunderland are a lot wealthier than they're letting on the story was bollocks and the contract was never signed.

Can we implement some sort of ban against ANY Daily Mail speculation?

Seriously not even worth commenting on, it's getting fecking ridiculous.

I love Danny Welbeck. He's a Manchester lad and we can all be proud to watch him play for United. You can't really buy that.
