Not sure why we played Danny yesterday.

To try offer some cover for Evra against one of the fastest wingers in the league, and Walker at RB.

Overall, and not based on yesterday - he's only back from injury so you'd expect him to be rusty - but I'm not sure having him play from the left is doing much good for him to be honest. If we weren't so light with options on the left wing I'd be in favour of sending him out on loan to a PL for the rest of the season and giving Hernadez more chances up top.

He has plenty of time on his side and playing him wide up to now has no doubt helped his development but at 23 imo the time is right for him to start staking his claim as a striker.

He had 2 very good moments in the game. The penalty, which was a super run into the box and then when he beat dawson kept it in and squared the ball. Not really his fault that only Rooney had kept up with him

Was asking a bit much for him to pick out Rooney IMO

Did alright, but he's just not that good I think. Good enough to be part of our squad though, and I suspect he'd be some sort of attacking O'Shea in the long run.

Aye, blame should go on Kagawa/Valencia/midfielder(maybe) for not keeping up with Danny, he's done his job very well.

It's still a bloody shame that he's got some serious problems with finishing.

Indeed he is a terrible finisher and doesnt seem to be improving in that aspect.

If he doesnt make it at Utd that will be the reason, he has ridiculous potential

There's something very entertaining about watching him go from Heskey to Messi and back again in the space of 5 seconds.

he also left space on more than one occasion allowing Everton to attack. So even defensively today he has been poor.

When he is on the wing it is like playing with 10 men...he offers nothing to the team.

He offers nothing going forward or defensively for that matter on the wing. It's a standard performance for him out there. He just has no decisive moments to his game. I want him to do well but he's just not a winger, and at striker isn't as good as our other 3.

I'm surprised Moyes has picked him considering he was poor in the last match.

He is turning out to be the new Heskey, the only difference is Heskey was probably more prolific than him.

He's been shite, the thing is, at Spurs at the weekend, he was shite, and it was clear he's shite on the left wing, yet for some obscene reason, Moyes went and fecking picked him there again tonight, despite having Januzaj and Nani available.

Hell, dare I say it, I think I'd even prefer to see Ashley Young on the left, he would've done ... SOMETHING.

Every time he gets the ball you can almost see the "Shit, what do I do now?" expression come across his face.

I'd say welbeck has gotten has bad as young is on the wing. Young is a better diver though.
If welbeck wasn't homegrown, he'd be as disliked as young.

Going by the Talksport commentary of the game i didn't have the impression that Danny was doing poorly in the first half, not at all.It wasn't an 8 or 9/10 or the like but neither was it the reverse which some of you are suggesting.

His goal rate and general play whether on the left or as a striker is better for England than United though.

 feck sake.

If he wasn't homegrown, would people be hyping him up? He offers nothing as an attacking threat.

How did he miss that header? :(

I fail to understand why he gets more opportunities than Hernandez. Surely every first team player should be given a fair crack? If not, you'll get players who are unfit, unhappy and lacking in confidence.

He's fecking brutal. He wouldn't get in any other top side in Europe so why is he getting in ours?

His form in 2013 has been far worse than strikers we've gotten rid of. He needs to take some time and decide what he wants to be. If it's a striker, he needs to dedicate whatever time and energy is required to learn how to be a striker.

Because right now he's producing the sum product of f*ck all on the football pitch. And that's not good enough at any club, much less one with our (former?) aspirations.

I don't get it either, like I've said before I like him and think he's got the talent but right now he doesn't deserve to be playing and surely he should be earning his spot. I don't get what the thinking is with him. From the left he's hardly putting in a great shift and we clearly don't gain threat with him there, but even worse is the switch with kagawa which we've seen a few times, namely in the last two games. I don't see what that does for us. It doesn't improve Welbecks game, clearly impacts Kagawa's who I feel also helps the midfield out more indirectly and also seems to bring down Rooney's game.

We move Kagawa to left and move Welbeck up front. So why not just bring on Hernandez?

If he features in the next five games, then David Moyes seriously has 0 man/team management skills.

If he wasn't homegrown, I think he'd have been sold.

He'd have been long gone if he wasn't homegrown. But then again we're keeping Young aroud so who knows. He's really, really bad though. Even on his best days, he's not that great. Today was laughable how useless he was.

C'mon lads, give the boy a chance. He does....stuff out on the wing and occasionally out-paces someone.

Quality player.
