A bit of an overreaction. It was a decent chance but not a sitter, and although he missed it was a fairly decent effort.

Rooney's opportunity at the end was much better.

Rooney already had his name on the scoresheet. Welbeck averages 5 goals a SEASON.

Welbeck has been playing for too long to be still missing chances like that. With his experience he should be scoring about 15 a season by now.

Given his attributes, still stirkes me as an ideal choice for Moyes' 'Fellaini' role at Everton. Behind a striker, bringing the long balls down and passing it.

Because United need a striker that can actually score. Until he proves that, he's not good enough for us, regardless of where he was born and what club he supports.

Glad to see him back, should have scored, but he is just back from injury so it's really unfair to blame him for that, especially because Rooney was the one who missed much easier chance at the end.

Ignore him. Welbeck's got some excellent attributes - blaming him for a draw tells you everything you need to know.

Do you have reading problems?

Where exactly am I blaming him for the draw? I am stating a simple fact

The team is embarrassing, frankly.

And I'm sick of Hernandez being the fall guy - brought off for a 40 year old?

That 40 year old did more in 30 mins than Hernandez did in double that seeing as he put our strikers clean through on goal twice.

Turd. The first point was a reference to Kag saying 'a little lower and people would be creaming themselves'.

He's a truly horrendous finisher and needs to be shown the door for his incapability to improve that aspect of his game

Defenders must be thrilled when they see welbeck on the pitch, his finishing is abysmal. He'll never be a striker and if he wants to be a united player in the future, he needs to become decisive one way or another. Either learn how to play on the wing, or get some composure and learn how to finish and get proper movement... Unfortunately I don't see it happening. He'll be an Oshea in attacking positions if he stays, nothing more.

By now he really should have improved his finishing. Should be spending fecking hours a day just shooting at the goal. Seriously.

Its getting to the point where I think most are losing patience with his inability to score the simplest of chances.

Oh, here come the insults. I'll direct you to your own post: here.

He's beyond frustrating, maybe this is what everyone but me felt like about Nani, he's so talented, so skillful, but can't do his main fecking job, score goals!

Nani always had pretty good stats as well though. Assisst wise and goals wise. He hasnt.

It's stupid to blame him for the draw; you should never blame one person for a result unless it was a truly game changing decision they made, that shot of which wasn't.

But sadly Welbeck doesn't have the attributes to be a top striker here, and I can only see him getting good game time and doing well is if he performs on the wings. We need finishing, and right now I'd say he is sixth on that list behind our 3 other strikers and even Januzaj, who does have a good strike on him, and Nani ( I may get slated for saying him, but I do believe he is a better finisher still, my opinion). I would happily see Welbeck on the left instead of Young anyday, but I wouldn't want to see him ahead of RvP, Rooney or Hernandez up front, and I wouldn't want to see him ahead of Nani or Januzaj on the left, and that leads to a bit of a dilemna as to where we actually play him.

Most frustrating thing is he continually gets into the most amazing positions to score goals. Only for his first touch or finish to let him down. I just feel he is one step away from becoming one of the better strikers in the world. Has all the physical tools and movement to do it. Just still seems to clumsy at times! Really should have put the match to bed with that glorious chance Rooney set up for him. I still hold out hope he will come good.

I love Danny and it's hard to 'blame' him for today or something, got to be crazy to do so, but his inability to score a goal is infuriating. Should've burried his chance but it's his chocolate legs and bambi on ice mode he switches on and it's usually yards away or he fails to kick the ball.

Well he's hardly a clinical striker, even when fully fit. It's getting tiring, this allergy he has to scoring. I don't think he's good enough.

It wasn't a sitter but he has tried to go for the spectacular. Rooney's miss was infinitely worse.

Welbeck is our Shola Ameobi. He'll always be around as a squad player nothing more. They'll always be at least 2 better strikers at the club than him.

I thought Welbeck did okay today, but he has everything in his locker except killer instinct in the box, and this isn't just based on today. It's been apparent for some time.

He is great at everything on the pitch, except scoring goals. It's certainly a concern, because I can't see him just flicking a switch and immediately becoming a composed finisher.

Before even talking about Welbeck scoring goals, he has to get the basics right and by that I mean aim for the target. He doesn't hit the target enough so obviously he's never gonna score many goals.

We have a quite a few players that need to be shown the door but Welbeck certainly isn't one of them.

He's very talented and has the ability to impact games at the highest level already despite being a long way off his peak.

On his obvious major weakness; at least he didn't scuff it like usual, he actually caught it cleanly for once! Also good to see him get into the position in the first place.

The problem is that to have any chance of becoming a really top striker, rather than a player who works hard in forward areas like left wing, I think he needs a long run of games up front. As it is, Sturridge is streets ahead and just getting further away from him. Unless, God forbid, there's a big striker inury crisis involving RVP or Rooney, I'm not sure where's he going to build any consistency.

to not get that shot on target was a rucking disgrace. And just classic Welbeck really.

Knew it'd come back to bite us.

A valid point. The signing of RVP stop him getting games up top. If he was at club where he gets games regularly up top he might take off.
