Welbeck reminds me of Thierry Henry more than RvP.
Racist.
Welbeck reminds me of Thierry Henry more than RvP.
He does remind me of Van Persie in his Feyenoord days. Very similar. Except I would say Welbeck is a better athlete.
Well we appreciate your concern...I honestly don't care if you do. But it's a very RAWKish thing to do, banning someone who has the audacity of an giving an opinion. I'm worried this forum is heading more towards that now.

Does anyone else think Welbeck's problem with finishing upto this point has been his balance? He often stumbles or gets his feet in a bit of a twist in front of goal. If so, then it'd fit with what SAF said on numerous occasions - that Welbeck was still growing as a late teen/early 20-something, and he'd become a top player in his mid 20s.
Giving an opinion is fine - being an obsessed tosser is not.
Racist.
It clearly isn't, if it isn't conforming to the rimming quota.
It's no more obsession than you or Drainy hopping on every little post I make.
Roy knew.....
That second finish was absurd... go go gadget golf wedge.
Lynk is acting like such a cock. He gives it the big one when Welbeck has a poor first game after the summer break "where are all the people who say Welbeck is a striker now?", then he actually plays as a striker in a competitive game for us and looks like he could be class there, now he's ironically calling everyone RAWKites while acting the victim..
If you come into a thread bombastically stating shit like that a player lacks all the traits of a top striker, expect to get stick when the player proves you wrong. Trying to act more moderate now and shifting to 'well he's still inconsistent' when most players at 22/23 are, might fool some people but us 'obsessed' people won't forget what you said.
Absolutely. Welbeck in goal-scoring form is simply undroppable.
I suppose you could fit all three of them into the starting XI too, but I think Welbeck has to be one of the first names on the team sheet at the moment.
Just like Heskey, eh?When Welbeck can score he will be perfect for us.
ha. they probably all did. best player we've produced since what, Scholes?
doubters have gone home
Seriously, when is he going to get banned from this thread? If Welbeck maintains this great form for a season and Lynk is still railing at him for no reason, it will surely start to be little more than spamming - repeatedly stating the same viewpoint regardless of what's actually going on.
Just like Heskey, eh?
No way. Rooney was on a different level and I think he will be remembered as such when both their careers end as well. IMO welbeck will end up a very good player but I don't he'll ever be a special footballer right up there with the best.Danny has potentially more weapons in the locker than Rooney. He will come good in about 2-3 years time. Remember, he's only 22.
I would imagine that Van Persie would be much better technically at the same age?He does remind me of Van Persie in his Feyenoord days. Very similar. Except I would say Welbeck is a better athlete.
Also with regard to your point about inconsistency at 22/23, it merits repetition that Welbeck has scored more goals/game than Shearer had at his age.
Fast becoming one of my favourites and there's nothing better then seeing a homegrown player succeed here - he's a local lad on top of it.
I don't understand what's not to like about this lad TBH. It's baffling how many United fans set out to give him as little praise as possible, no matter how well he performs. Obviously no player is exempt from criticism, but you hear some fans almost getting joy out of seeing him misplace a pass, or put a shot wide.
Absolutely. We should all be in his corner, rooting for him to succeed. That would give me 10 times more joy than going out into the market and spending 40m on the next Gotze/Reus etc etc. There's nothing wrong with signing "marquee" or talented youngsters, but I want players like Welbeck to succeed more.
Yeah, agreed.I think most people would agree with this.
The perception I get is, I think some of Welbeck's detractors, thinks he gets a easier ride, simply because he is a Manc. Because of this, they tend to think that the goodwill and the willingness to want him to succeed, and maybe being, more protective of him regarding criticism, they tend to perceive this as Danny being 'over rated' by fans or, favouritism by fans, and within the club . There is another group who are just indifferent to a Manc succeeding here anymore then someone from South America or Asia. They do not take anymore pride that Welbeck is from Longsight, and has come through the academy, then they would if he was from Lahore or Lima and cost £40m.

and hopefully the flip side is also that he'll have much more loyalty then hired guns (it''s not a guarantee but there's more of a chance of this happening with a local United supporter than anyone else!)Absolutely. I'm not even from Manchester or England, but just to see a local boy who has supported United throughout his life succeed at this club gives me satisfaction.
