Irrespective of that goal, I fecking love Danny Welbeck. Works his balls off for every single second he wears that shirt. How any United fan could not love the guy is beyond me.

Well said TN.

He'll be a star.

He's been absolutely magnificent tonight. Him and RVP are the only two so far that seem capable of going toe to toe with Madrid, and not shitting it everytime they get the ball.

Doubt he'll get much credit from the usual lot on here, mind.

Not always been massive on him playing out on the wing but he was very good tonight. Will be a massive confidence booster for him to have played like this tonight.

Excellent performance by him, reminiscent of his performances for England v France & Italy.

Outstanding performance tonight. I hope him scoring on this stage will convince him that he belongs here at this level.

He was fecking class. Probably his biggest game in the life and he was brilliant. Absolutely love Danny.

I love Welbeck and have never said anything contradictory of that but after that performance I am slightly confused about him.

He was so confident in his play, though he always is, and looked to be one of the few players for us that wasn't fazed by the occasion, but you put him in front of goal and all of a sudden he doesn't know what to do (not today obviously, just in general).

If you can't see his talent after that then you might as well jump off the nearest cliff. We've got a fecking good player on our hands

Displayed all his best qualities on the biggest stage. Put RVP and Rooney in the shade.

Where are the people saying his first touch is poor?

Quite the opposite actually.

He and DDG and Rio were fantastic.

He earned himself a sustained run in the team with that performance, he was fantastic.

Great performance from Danny he outshone a lot of more experienced players and Madrid's back line struggled to deal with his energy, mass and ability on the ball. One of the standouts of the night.

Zup, zup. Really grew into the occasion, top player and hopefully this is a massive confidence boost.

The goals will come and you'll wonder why you ever worried.

It's a bit raw and unpredictable at times. Sometimes it's excellent and sometimes it's poor. This was undoubtedly one of those better nights though.

So fecking amazing having a set of strikers who each offer something different. Fantastic performance from the lad

"He's like Heskey".

You're a knobhead if you've ever said that, eat your humble pie. He was brilliant tonight, and that'll be a big night in his career. Hopefully a real turning point for him in front of goal and a few more starts over the next few weeks.

How horrible must Sir Alex feel telling one of these forwards they have to sit out? They're all tremendous in their own way. Oh and this one goal isn't the reason for this post, he's been running around like that all season long. It'll get headlines now though, because it was in the Bernabeu.

He was outstanding! Such a shame to see him go off, he was by far our best player until that point.

I completely agree and honestly I've never worried about his long term performances here. It is weird that he currently can't seem to produce his general confidence to his goal scoring form though, especially after such a strong/confident performance in front of such a difficult environment.

What a night for him. Scored a great goal, nearly got a second and worked his socks off to challenge De Gea as our MoTM. Anyone who ever thinks he's not good enough for us again is fecking mental.

Of the strikers we had on the pitch, he was the one I was most happy with. We struggled to threaten at times but he carried the ball so well and found some chances for himself. I'm really glad he got our goal. He deserves it for all his hard work. He just needs to score more, whenever and wherever he can.

I love him as a player, puts in an extraordinary shift.

Came of age tonight, not just the goal and the fantastic 2nd chance, but really showed SAF's faith in him and reason for picking him

You're a stupid cnut, eh?

Welbeck was fantastic tonight.

I love him as a player, puts in an extraordinary shift. Should be proud, good to see him score, too.

Top game. Worked his arse off and done brilliantly. Delighted for him. He dropped back, broke up their play, held up the ball for us and created his own space. A real dogged effort from him tonight.

There's gonna be some daft looking twats in herewithin the next few years, with all the drivel that's been spouted about him

Better get deleting some posts methinks ;):smirk:
