Nah, I'll stick to my guns and say he isn't quick and he picked up a tow from the defender along with the wind being over 50mph to give him a boost. He is rubbish and if he ever makes a champions league appearance I'll sell my nans grave plot.

Not a good bet for you. Celtic often play in the CL.

I don't mind, my Grandmother may have something to say though. To be fair he has finally put some factual evidence to the cause, no matter if we don't use mph as a guide to someone's speed and just use our eyes ;)

Indeed, I was watching Ings up against the BFG the other week, fast he ain't.

Reminds me of a young Kevin Davies...

If we were going for 4 strikers, than i would probably take him as a the 4th striker, as he will improve our quota and will be free. But would like us to go with 3 strikers supplemented with forwards like Depay & Reus

Haven't watched that much but I did watch the last two games and I don't get the hype at all, he seems like an average player. Hope he goes to Liverpool.

I can't recall ever seeing him play.

What sort of striker is he?

he would be a good singing for them.....he is free, is better then Lambert/Borini and would be a good backup option. But they need a first striker, Sturridge is made of glass and Balotelli is shit.

Liverpool bound surely? I wouldn't want him anywhere near United, full stop. He's exactly the type of player you get in and quickly realise he's taking up a spot in the squad you could've filled with someone better, then look to offload him soon as possible. If we need a 4th striker I'd rather bring Chicarito back from Real.

He's not exactly a Suarez style game-changer signing that I am worried about going to Liverpool - more of a squad filler like Lambert.

He will probably never score 25 goals in a season - but what I like about him is his work-rate. He reminds me a bit about Tevez - but of course nowhere as skilled with the ball.

Sky Sports saying that Spurs are bidding £12m for Ings. He's out of contract in 5 weeks time.

Tottenham are ready to bid £12m for Burnley striker Danny Ings, according to Sky sources.

Ings is out of contract at the end of June and has been linked with Liverpool, and any club signing the 23-year-old on a free transfer would have to pay Burnley compensation.

But Sky sources understand Spurs are ready to steal a march on any rival suitors by offering an eight-figure sum now in the hope they will get the first chance to talk to the player.

Isn't any club free to arrange a pre-contract agreement with Ings at this moment in time?

This is probably one of the most bizarre rumours ever. Has any team ever paid a transfer fee for a player who is out of contract in a month? It makes zero sense.

Even if we go with Sky's (incorrect) logic of Spurs getting to speak to him early, why would Ings be in any hurry to sign? It's in his best interest to wait until July and let the offers come in.

The offers could have been coming in from Janurary 1st under the bosman rule right? Which makes this rumour even more weird.

Either Tottenham are beyond stupid or I'm not understanding this properly. On a day the FBI have arrested FIFA members I hope it's me that is confused, for football's sake.

Maybe Ings has agreed with Burnley to sign a contract so that they get a decent fee? Thats the only thing I can think of.
