If this drags on for too long and other clubs come sniffing, the price will be higher than 15m.

I wouldn't trust whoever is in charge of our transfer negotiation. We got Fred for 50 mil.

This entire thread is 5 days old, and the Sky Sports claim of a deal being close was 2 days ago. The season also isn't over, and the transfer window isn't open. I don't think we're yet at the stage where we need to be concerned about it "dragging on"

It's the Caf mate, there's a collective everything is negative vibe about it. People think their opinion is important, when really I very much doubt we've a single top level coach who posts on here, nor a player who's played at the highest level. So it's like a lego fan trying to tell an engineer how to build a bridge.

If Ole is going down the potential route by choice or by budget restrictions, we'll never know, but I think he's got an exciting project and I'm certainly looking forward to seeing what happens over the summer and for the start of next season.

James actually did very well against possibly the best right back in the league, so he's certainly got potential. For the fee, he'd certainly be a go. At worst he'd be an excellent out let at the end of games with that amazing pace he's got. He's probably going to fit in better than Sanchez does at United regardless.

Yep, I just don't believe We'll be able to finish this quickly when the window is open... and He'll cost us more than 15 mil, Hope I'm wrong.

Isn't he entering the las year of his contract?
15m sounds reasonable to me.

If Manchester City tried to sign him it would be 5 million.

I thought the player is in his last year of the contract but we pay more than he was valued in January?
 
This transfer makes a lot of sense under the direction Ole has stated he wants to go. Hard working, rapid, counter attacking winger who would panic opposition defenders and create space for the other attackers. If he can unnerve the likes of Walker and Ottamendi then surely there's a lot of potential there to work with.
Defensively, he's the polar opposite of Martial. He tracks back, tackles, presses and breaks up play. For £15m it's a no brainer with very little risk.
 
Finding it hilarious the posters stating hes just a speed merchant after watching a youtube complimation, absolutley brilliant.

Even after watching one of these complimations he has more than that, his movements clever, especially his give and goes, and his touch and control and passing look good too.

Amazing how negative mindsets can blind people

Fred has the rough makings of what you'd expect from a top flight midfielder, he can carry the ball, has decent vision and tackles well. I'm still hoping its the stage fright of moving from Shakhtar to the premier league that handicapped him and he might return a more consistent player with better fitness work and awareness of the league along with some development sessions with Carrick. he seemed to be getting there around the PSG game.

Re: James, we need players who raise our floor as well as our ceiling, James might not be the ceiling raiser but he definitely raises the quality of our options.
 
That would be idiotic and detrimental. Would very likely mean we would be worse if we only get 3. Already lost our second best CM.
 
This is a great start, we have to start somewhere signing young british talent is what we should be doing instead of wasting big chunks of the transfer budget on players that use Man United as a stepping stone with huge wages, sign players that want to play for Manchester United not just for the money. Sign Daniel James and a Right Back with real quality, id love a Centre Back too.
 
My god, its starting already, close to agreeing a deal on friday and its already at the "if this drags on too long" stage by sunday.

He didnt pull out of the Leeds deal, swansea did. He was at Leeds on deadline day, had his medical and was waiting to sign. Some say Swansea pulled out because they managed to offload a couple of high earners so no longer needed to sell James, some say Leeds tried to change to details of the deal at the last minute.

Not really, and since January he had a great game v City themselves, so he's had more exposure, it was only really Leeds in for in January time.

It's only logical now Prenier League teams are aware of him that his price goes up.

According to MEN, no contact between the two clubs till now but James deleted a tweet where he praised Salah.
For them, that s a clue..
 
So according to that, they want 15m. We havent made a bid yet.

Yet we'd moan for signing players off these teams for 3 or 4 times the original price. Questioning why we didn't sign him first as last.

Can not win.
