Dani Olmo

But also, in this case, he's a local lad who went through their academy and has always been a supporter of the club too

Still,

I wonder how Laporta will try to survive this. They pretty much have to win either the league or CL I reckon

Isn't it the case that Bartemeou is the reason for the current financial situation after he mismanaged the Neymar money with the spending spree of Dembele, Griezman and Coutinho, along with the insane contracts given to those and the older Barca players?

I don't think Laporta is at fault for where they are financially. It was downhill from before.

Yes, it was very bad management but Bartomeu resigned in 2020 and we are in 2025.

Also, leaving the year aside, if you pay a 60 million euros clause for a player not to be able to register him later, it is very hard to think of a legitimate excuse why you should not be held accountable for making such a horrible decision.

They should have just swallowed the bitter pill and sat out two transfer windows. They would have reached CL anyways.

They’d be probably out of the woods by now. But no, scaling back a little bit is below this all important entity of cheating.

Laporta has done enough at this point to get his fair share of the blame. He has sacrificed so much of their future for short-term benefits of signing superstars on enormous wages despite the club not being able to afford it. The Gündoğan saga is a sackable offense on its own.

This is what certain Barca fans have parroted for a while, but the fact is it was well within Laporta's capability not to go and sign players that put them in further holes and try to pay for it by selling off rights and arms of the club. They know the rules and are constantly pushing at them and prodding La Liga to try and get their way instead of knuckling down and doing things to get the situation under control.

Hell they even tried to turn their fanbase on De Jong after he helped them out by deferring wages to offset their financial issues. Laporta is as responsible for this mess as anyone else.

Instead of sensibly having a couple of seasons staying out of the transfer market and recovering economically, he chose to double down and bringing in big time players paying big agent fees. He also decided to start building a new stadium when the club has an astronomical debt just because he couldn't bear Madrid having a new one. He absolutely bears a lot of the blame. This Olmo farce is all on him.

The thing is that I would still expect him to stay there, even if that was indeed true, and wait for half a year instead of leaving.
The shit some players are taking from Barca is incredible.

Can't he just go on loan for 4 months? Probably a lot of teams would pay his salary for 4 months and send Barca a little cash for the privilege.

They could indeed do that, yeah. If he's willing to still trust them after this.

Sometimes I feel that Barca is doing this over and over just to get some media coverage and money from sharing all the boring updates about that situation. In the end Olmo will stay and play.

Why on earth would he come to us?

No Spanish players, fighting to get into the top half etc.

Can't even offer high wages (vs other clubs) with SJR as the owner.

Amazing how players get fkd over by Barca over and over and still stay. If this was me and they fkd up and I couldn't even play I'd be off.

Wages isn’t down to SJR… it’s due to almost breaching PSR/running out of cash and being close to it again. Financially, we’re on the edge until we sell (or get to next season and find a way to up the income).

I’m kinda envious of the pull Barca has on the players. However bad the club treats them (FdJ), or in this case with Olmo, the players still want to be part of Barca.
That must be amazing situation for the club.

Weather also helps

Barcelona is one of the most beautiful places in the world to live, I can understand why players want to go there.

Barcelona is one of the most beautiful cities in the world, with great weather, beaches and a cultural offering.

On the other hand “mes que un club, un meme”

Would be really good for the left sided role behind the striker, on loan at least. Don't see it happening though, he either stays at Barca or goes to City.

More from Romano about the VIP seats being approved, he will be staying then
It may not change anything. They've missed the deadline already and technically RFEF regulations prevent a player being de-registered and then re-registered within the same season. So they'll need to get some sorts of an exception from La Liga anyway.

I think their argument is that they did indeed send the documents before the 31st Dec deadline.

Obviously we don't really know what happened by according to the reports their documents weren't yet backed by the financial income and, therefor, weren't legitimate. We'll see.

No, he’s not registered thus can’t be loaned out.
I don't see how that makes sense, but maybe you've read some news that explained that?

As I understand it, he's still an employee of the club under a FIFA contract thus can be loaned out or transferred. He's just an employee that can't be registered to play La Liga games.

Yeah, read it on a very reliable news website.
