Dani Olmo

A player that wouldn't want to be here, and we'd only get if no other top club want him first.

What could possibly go wrong.

Can't be fun supporting Barcelona these recent years. They've ruined everything they stood for.

I remember their UNICEF days.

Is it really so difficult to just not sign anyone for one or two windows and sort your finances out? Wtf is wrong with that scummy club

Considering they have the best academy in the world and continuously pump out multiple NT level players every season it's rather odd. They have become just like Real in that they always need the shiny new thing regardless.

I mean really what was the point of them signing Olmo and putting themselves back under financial pressure when they already have a midfield grouping of Pedri, Gavi, FDJ, Marc Casado, Fermin Lopez, Pablo Torre. That on top of the fact they had to let Gundogan go for free to make it happen in the first place.

this kind of bad luck will follow you if you invite an albino into your house.

Yeah, abysmal management considering the shambles they took over from Bartomeu etc. - & it’s a signing, arguably, they didn’t even need to make and would have still been comfortable competing for the league/earn a UCL place. That’s without even considering his injury record.

The average age of those players is 21. It's a little too green. Some of Barcelona's signings have been dubious but you can't really have a squad that is so heavily reliant on youth players.

Barcelona have a very good academy but they do not 'pump out multiple NT level players every season.' Nobody does.

Can’t believe it actually got rejected. This is as unexpected as it is deserved. Screw them

Well let’s see if we can get him in then. Might as well, as he’s on a free

If he could tolerate Leipzig, he might be able to handle Manchester haha

Maybe multiple every season was a bit off the mark but both Cubarsi and Casado (despite debuting earlier) have emerged this year. And both Yamal and Fermin Lopez last season.

Before that they were getting one high level starter each season (Balde 22/23, Gavin 21/22, Pedri 20/21). That's a pretty insane rate.

With the likes of Guille Fernandez, Marc Bernal, Hector Fort, Toni Fernandez coming through you can be sure they'll be more too.

Barcelona had a period of a decade or so where their academy didn't really produce much of note. Sergi Roberto is the only player from that era that became a first team regular.

They have been producing better players since, but that raises the question: has their academy happened to start producing lots of great players just as their first team is having money problems, or are they moving players up out of necessity, many of which are, perhaps, not that good? I think there's a bit of both, and many of these players aren't going to be anything special (relatively speaking).

Also Pedri is not a Masia player.

Anyway I think the bigger issue is the ages, since Barcelona don't have many veteran or prime-age players then relying on academy would lead to a far-too-young team.

That myth again. They bought him for €20m+.

They are obsessed with Real Madrid. Since we have had success, they feel like they need to triple down on everything for the short term even if it destroys them in the long term. It’s really sad tbh Camp Nou is on its studs with no timetable because they saw how we updated the Bernabeu.

Whilst United are at a low at least we seem to be working towards righting the wrongs. At least the club didn't get as crazy as Barca has - footballing wise they're doing OK but the club is a complete joke and I can only assume they'll be in big trouble the more it goes on.
