Wouldn't be surprised if most newspapers have the same circulation trajectory tbh. That line killed me
Oh and "the most momentous issue of our time"
However, there is hope

Wouldn't be surprised if most are worse. The Mail holds its figures afloat by giving away a few hundred thousand copies a day at the UK airports and on all BA flights, seriously pisses me off when you go to board and there's no i or Evening Standard available and you're left stuck with the Heil.Wouldn't be surprised if most newspapers have the same circulation trajectory tbh.
It's not just them though. Even the FT and Guardian gove away shedloads and those weird offers were you get a Tel with a bottle of water.Wouldn't be surprised if most are worse. The DM website powers on though. Will be interesting if they go paywall.
Michael Gove?
Probably the worst Secretary of State for Education I can remember, absolute bumblefeck of a man.
But was it him goving away copies of the grauniad?
(hehe grauniad is an actual word, didn't get spell checked )
I've inadvertently created a new verb.Michael Gove?
Mail said:Repeat offender GOAT granted bail after arrest for nibbling vegetables in India
"Woman FLAUNTS curves and DISPLAYS diddies under REVEALING loosely fitting potato sack."She's showing it off so much that she's draped a massive coat over it.
Who's the guy on the left again?
I switched off last night's Midsomer Murders after 15 minutes for the same reason.
...This has got them in a lather...Like the way DM says 'the internet has noticed' and hides behind that...
The Express are absolute wankers for this. I have a friend on Facebook who is an absolute keyboard warrior. She's very a very compassionate liberal and is obsessed with arguing against far right wing idiots and I tend to read her comments as they're usually quite refreshing and interesting and the arguments can be quite fun.
Anyway as a result of reading her comments, Facebook has decided The Express must come up on my page every day and they always use this form of reporting.
Headline: Angry Mob Protest against immigrants.
Sub head: A group of angry mob said things like "immigrant scum get out of our country"...
Article: More comments from the angry mob "who are tired of Britians slack immigration laws"
Inevitable comments from like minded fascist readers: "Yeah but they're right though" "Christian country" "yada yada spit and bile."
It's become the new way to preach hate without any of the accountability of reporting from an angle that implies the newspaper's opinion.
"We were just reporting what other people said, we don't necessarily agree with those opinions "
It's spreading- down with accountability!
I really do think we're (the big "we") are getting better at the last bit. Sure, if a play specifies a tall blonde woman it would be silly to cast someone who wasn't tall and blonde, because there is probably some reference in the script, or the appearance may be crucial to the plot. However, there are loads of roles where someone's appearance is never fully specified.Jesus, will never understand the people who claim PC anytime there is non-British, non-white, non-male, non-straight person on TV. It can't be because they are suited to the job or anything? I wonder who they would have proposed instead seeing as only straight, white British males are acceptable.
I can understand in certain contexts having a specific type of person for that role makes sense, for example if you were to do a portrayal of Hitler and the Nazi party having a cast of non-white females wouldn't make much sense. However, different types of people exist and its not politically correct to show these people. This is just as infuriating as the people who want to force diversity by having actors cast in roles just because of their ethnicity, sexuality or gender.
Shocked supermarket shoppers point out a resemblance between a model used in a Coles ad and Adolf Hitler
They could have used a black woman, way less Hitler looking. Can't be too careful these days. That couldn't possibly look less like Hitler.
