What's amazing is how you seem to be struggling with basic logic.

Picking the wrong managers - wrong
Giving those managers loads and loads of time despite them clearly being the wrong picks - also wrong

Why take that tone? What a completely uncalled for attack on my ‘logic’. And as for the ‘loads and loads of time’ piece, what are you on about? Which manager has been given loads of time? As said previously it’s abundantly obvious that the Glazer policy is simple. No CL = the sack. How on any objective measure could you argue they give managers too much time. The opposite is true.

Ogden implying Mou might walk

You're reaching

Mou isn't going to walk away, there is too much money tied up and it won't sit right with his ego. Board will have to take a decision one way or the other.

No way he walks when he has a contract up until 2020. He'll make sure we pay up.

Didn't he walk away at Chelsea the first time?

The man should walk. He has a squad that have been nothing short of disgraceful and disrespectful to the shirt. And he has owners that didn’t back him when it mattered. If I was Jose I’d walk, pay off or no pay off, and leave the Glazers to their continuing shit-show.

He is the shite show. As proven at Chelsea and Madrid. The guy respect no one but Jose. Go back to Inter or go mess up AC Milan.

I don't think he will be sacked. I think its more likely he has met with the board and ironed out some differences, i.e. pogba, and transfer dealings. I think Mourinho stays, and we get shut of the toxic players causing dressing room rifts and disrespecting one of the best managers in the world, players who aren't even that good, and then he gets backed properly in the transfer windows. Ed has made more mistakes that Jose, and its Ed who should be sacked

Fergie said "stand by your new manager" and he emphasised that. Thats because he knows how utterly shite the board are at united when it comes to football. He meant it. Stand by your manager. Thats what I am going to do until I either die of boredom watching it or we get relegated

I agree.

Couldn’t that be what that meeting in London was about?
I walk after the Newcastle game, if you guys give me £x in compensation?

I agree, for the most part, but how much of that can be attributed to Mourinho's appalling man-management and overly negative attitude?

Me too. And I think you are spot on re: Fergie’s assessment of the board.

Nope, he had a falling out with Abrahamovic and was sacked. Same at Madrid, same at Chelsea 2nd stint. I know many are jumping for joy as he may finally be gone but we are an absolute mess right from the top, sacking manager is an easy way out but we have to fix the bigger issues.

As for the guy who's imparting wisdom on logic, basic logic would also imply the people continuously hiring wrong managers and giving them time are also wrong and in my eyes the bigger culprit in the mess we find ourselves into. Jose should've been sacked in the summer when there were disagreements about the future of the club. All they have done is waste time.

Starting to feel like Liverpool just tapped us on the shoulder and said "youre it!" and then ran away. Whether Mourinho goes or not, Woody and the rest of the footballing buffoons need to take a walk as well. If we arent careful they manage us into the championship.

Yeah. And of course the ‘show’ at Old Trafford has been nothing short of inspirational since 2013.

I can’t remem the board, players and club itself being criticised before Jose. But if you can please give examples.

It is needed, but our club has lost it's class. That went with SAF and David Gill unfortunately. It is now any publicity is good publicity.

I think what's stranger to me is why. If it's one dodgy person they need to be found out. If it's the club intentionally leaking it for some other reason it's out of order but I can't see why they would. What does anyone really gain from that?
All in all it doesn't bother me that much in itself though to be honest. It's only tarnishing the club because everyone's talking about it tarnishing the club.

And Jose has been a shit manager as well, so no point absolving him of blame.

Jose should walk, not because he's hard done by like you are suggesting, but because he's definitely not earned a pay-off for the work he's done here.

Which big club doesn’t sack managers? Like I don’t get it. You do a good job at United you get backed and not sacked. If you do a poor job you get sacked. Simple. Jose would have been sacked at Bayern, Madrid, Barcelona even PSG if he produced the same results as he’s doing now. If anything the board are doing the 10 SAF commandments thing and the fans are still moaning.

Are we to stand by a manager who has disrespected the club at every turn, fallen out with his players, the board, the media and anyone else who dares to question his dated managerial methods, lead the club to its worst possible start since the inception of the premier league, forces his players and fans of the club to endure sleep-inducing football and who has yet to sign a player that we could categorically state as a success?

I think not.

Wouldn’t be surprised if Neville’s reaction caused a bit of a reassessment. Neville has a big microphone and perhaps they sensed an absolute pr disaster where the story became about them not mourinho. Hang on a few weeks and if we’re languishing then the decision is more justified and if we’re winning they look good for not biting the bullet. Pure speculation on my part but I really feel McDonnell must have felt he had a dead cert to publish.

Pretty embarrassing for The Mirror if he is still at club after this story. It would destroy the credibility of McDonnell.

You must be joking?

Tell me which of Moyes and LVG attacked players in public, spoke of the board in public and told the club we are use to losing CL knockouts. Why is all this acceptable by us. Madrid fans don’t accept this. Maybe we not as big as we like the claim. We are Leeds level supporters to be honest.

If Mou walks it would at least earn him a tiny bit of respect back. He should have walked in the summer.
It would earn him an awful lot of respect. Hang around and be ineffectual for a month or so longer and walk away with 12 million pounds. Or just walk away. Latter is highly unlikely.

Couldn’t that be what that meeting in London was about?

I don't see why he would accept less compensation than if he was to be sacked. At this stage, even if he walks, everyone will know he was forced out so it doesn't make any difference from a reputation point of view either.

Sacking Mourinho now would be the most amateurish thing this club has ever done, and would be our biggest ever mistake and would just confirm that we are a massive circus who don't know what we are doing. The club needs a reshuffle but thats not down to Jose. He is a scapegoat, and an easy target. We keep Mourinho, we give ed a new role and get him to back off from the footballing matters, get him to concentrate only on sponsorships because hes evidently the best at that, get a good DoF in who will work with Mourinho, and give Jose the control he desires and needs to succeed. When he got this job, I bet he thought thats what he was getting, the opportunity to lay down a legacy of his own in SAF footsteps, and fergie always spoke about the most important factor of his success was the control he had over EVERY facet of the club. Give him that!!!! When he said recently "I am not a manager now, I am a coach, football has changed", you could tell he wasn't happy about it. Wonder if the guy feels like the job was mis sold to him. Give him the reigns and let him do it properly instead of treating one of the best managers of our time like a supply PE teacher for gods sake

Apologies I read your post as there generally not being criticism of those things pre mourinho

No but this is very different. This is one of the country's most trusted journos saying something will definitely happen. It's the kind of thing that will now affect his life for decades of it's wrong. It's like a top guy at the BBC reporting the Queen's death. It would be career suicide to be wrong.

I'm sure we'll find out he wasn't actually wrong in the main. Just wrong about the immediacy.

I just don't think football journalists would ever be ruined like you're suggesting.
People treat football stuff as a bit of light entertainment.
