D. McDonnell - the Mirror: Jose will be sacked this weekend | BBC: Jose still has board backing

Yeah i like Nuno as well. Seems like a great guy as well. And i share your concerns about Zidane.

Not necessarily saying Zidane is on Pep's level, but lots of people said the same thing about Pep at Barca. Was loads on this forum that regularly said they didn't want Pep because he'd only ever coached world class teams.

Can only really judge Zizou on his results, and they're pretty fantastic.

If they had just sacked him after the West Ham game - even then you would have a completely different vibe about the decision taken and how it was handled. Just before a game and keeping the guy in charge as a dead man walking is bizarre.
What if, as a big "feck you" to the club, he plays a truly formation (Lukaku as a CB, Pogba RB, Valencia up front ...) ?

I really don't think Jose is a buffoon. He needs to go, but he's not responsible for this failure IMO. He'll go down as one of the greatest managers of all time.
He's responsible just as are many other people inside the club. One of the most sensible sacking I'd say even if the timing is weird

Yes, but he's clearly well past his best and brings along a lot of baggage, and leaves behind even more.

The same board gave him a huge contract in January. Then elected to rule the roost transfer wise, start the season with a manager they didn’t back, see us fall off the pace and now publicly leak news so we likely have a manager taking a really important game at home knowing he is being sacked and players knowing it too. The only thing misssing is juggling. Utter circus
I keep saying that was an embarrassingly poor decision. Would you have a different POV if that hadn't happened?

Exactly, would people rather wait till more damage was done? I'm delighted that we're being proactive for once.

Sky are are saying that their sources regard the rumour as absolute nonsense that Mou will be sacked this weekend.

Our club is a laughing stock and will be it as long as Woodward and co are working for the club.

Everyone talking about leaking, it’s hardly a leak. It’s one journalist out of many who has got the story. If it was in all the papers, yes, have a go at Woodward, the club, whoever for being underhand and leaking but I think that’s wrong in this case.
if its the same guy who broke the moyes and lvg sackings, he wouldnt need a mendes leak

I think this whole sage has broken many of our fans way of processing events. Too many of them want to pin this on one party (Mourinho/Board/Players) without realizing all of them have their part in this. However, as a first step, it is necessary to replace Mourinho. It's simply how it is.

If Stone says its not true then its pretty much a done deal.

No, overall for 5 years there have been too many terrible decisions that seemed to lack any coherence. It’s a mess. That one was especially poor when it seemed a few months later they weren’t backing him. And as Neville said, the nauseating Woodward leak right before the season is just appalling. Don’t back him, publicly weaken him, then tell him go close that 19 point gap.

Past caring.

There’s a bigger issue at the heart of this club than Mourinho, Pogba or Woodward.

Yep, and we’ll be going through the same bollocks in a year or 2. It’s frightening.

Clickbait

And you can understand why Mourinhos press conferences are so downbeat.

Would you want to answer to individuals who were making your life miserable.

That said Mourinho is making my life miserable and I hope it to be true haha

Be amazed if it was this wknd tho

Spot on. First of many required changes at the club. This alone won't fix it all.

Not sure I understand. What do you mean :nervous:

We should have sacked him in the summer
Precisely. If Woodward didn't stupidly extend his contract earlier, he could have comfortably sacked him in the summer.

The club is in absolute mess. Would Zidane even want to come here and inevitably be sacked when the wheels fall off again after 18 months?

Zidane doesn't have a reputation of losing the dressing room every 2 years or so

If the BBC are right - now I’m back to not caring how he goes - just end it already

If it is wrong McDonnell has been absolutely swindled. That’s a shocker for him if so.

He's done two similar articles about Moyes and LvG before they happened. I'd argue his credibility is as high as Stone or Orny with respect to managerial sackings at our club (sad though it may sound).

Besides, too much overrating of BBC here. They play it too safe and report things when everyone and their dog knows it will happen. Stone is especially guilty of always writing a lot of words in his tweets that mean absolutely feck all in terms of significance. This tweet seems like he couldn't independently verify the Mirror's report and thus chose to stick to previous briefings.

Btw, not saying this because I want Jose out, just my take on these two journalists.

So after all it wasn't the club who leaked info yesterday.

Would rather him be sacked regardless of how it's done. Cannot believe he's still here after the way he's acted this season.

Again a bunch of mouth-breathing morons behind this.. Jose needs to ban some media associations from now on. It's us aganist them...

Just sack the cnut and be done with it. Put McKenna in charge for the rest of the season, and hire a DOF in that time.

I feel for the next manager

Who'd want to run this circus full of clowns plus the extreme pressure of the ABU media and idiot fans

Surprising if the story was untrue as McDonnell is someone you'd usually trust when he puts out a line that definitive. Not like it's Miguel Delaney or some other spoofer without proper sources.

Still, you'd have to trust Stone more unfortunately.

All of this just adding to the shambles.

He's staying 'til we officially lose Champions League 19/00 ticket (by all PL/CL/EL way). This has been our club policy towards all managers since SAF's retirement
