I’m suggesting the man being sacked will know before he’s sent a letter. Do you seriously believe that hundreds of people at a club are told before the manager? Have you considered that the formal stuff will probably take place over a number of weeks after he’s actually sacked?
-I meant any of the hundred people could know not that hundreds of people know. It only takes one person to leak it
-There's also a good chance the manager and the backroom already knows as well and heck could have leaked it. We'll find out more on this in the coming weeks
-The formal stuff often starts from day one. It's a simple process execs would rather not drag out

We're gonna be in for a rude awakening when the new manager comes in and the football still isn't up to standard. Our problems are far deeper than the manager.

I've thought about United's current predicament a lot this week. It's really at a boiling point on many fronts.
We're in horrible form. The results speak for themselves. Jose has given up. It's apparent in the last few matches with his selections, subs, and interviews.
The players have given up. They've let the manager down, they've let themselves down, and they've let the fans down. The owners are greedy bastards to the core. This situation is ultimately down to their own doing and they have no one else to blame but themselves. So what is they have to pay Jose 19million big ones or whatever it is. The losses will be 10x that by keeping a manager who can't get results. Lets just hope the new manager is willing to kick these players asses and not be afraid to knock them down a notch or two.

At the end of the day, it's the best option. Jose won't turn this around. Even if we had partial success, he was never going to be here for more than a few seasons. It's not his style.
We're spiraling out of control and something needs to change. The owners aren't going to change. We can't sign a complete new squad. Only one option left. I'm just happy a change is going to be made now, rather than when it's too late to salvage something from this season. We may not finish in the top 4, but we have a better shot at finishing in the top 10, something I was fearful we would not do if Jose remained in charge.

So now Martial, Pogba, Sanchez, Rashford Lukaku and Shaw can show the top class players they really are. If they don't it will show that maybe they are not all that. I really hope they do btw.

Agreed, but it’s an improvement in one area at least.

If the players are now dictating to the club, our issues are just beginning. Club needs a really big restructuring, can't believe this is the team Jose is handing over to his successor, midfield, right wing, central defence, no leaders etc, such poor planning has been going on since Moyes. Changing the manager certainly won't resolve much, another 18 months it'll be the same crap going on.

We're well run? How many managers in the last 5 years? What's the long term plan? What happened to our plan of LVG then Giggs? Who decided against signing the CBs we wanted and what are his credentials? Yeah we're well run mate.

Probably the same people that didn’t want to sell Pogba, Martial and Shaw and replace them with players like Willian. Probably the same people that didn’t think buying Harry Maguire for £75 million made financial sense.

Long term plans are tosh. They work when Alex Ferguson is the club’s manager. Aside from that you get rid of coaches when they don’t succeed and bring in a fresh pair of hands. Chelsea have been just as successful as United since the Abramovich takeover and continue to compete for all top honours in spite of the supposed circus that embroils the club. They just keep chugging along.

And so will we, when we find the right manager. Sadly, this wasn’t Mourinho. Such is life.

Look for some wider, holistic vision all you want. Those days are gone.

It normally starts with telling the person I’m sure. It doesn’t rule out a leak from somebody else but the fact remains that the possibility of a leak can be easily stopped. Make your decision and announce it. Don’t wait until somebody has time to do it for you and don’t do it and then decide to leave the man in charge for the next game.

Saying there are deeper issues than Mourinho is not an excuse to keep him. He might not be the only problem but he's definitely not part of the solution.

Because if what the guys that came before made of it. Not because it's well run now. Woodward and the Glazers are just reaping the benefits whilst trying their best to make us into a laughing stock.
I don’t agree with that point of view at all. Call the Glazers/Woodward what you want but they’ve turned the club into a financial powerhouse. They clearly bought the club because they saw the potential.

Just because you buy a successful club doesn’t mean it will continue to be successful.

It's preferable to defending his every action like you do.

Do I, though? I hate the football we're playing and I hold him responsible for quite a few issues at the club. But there's far too many fans at the club wanting another sacking and a new shiny toy without even recognizing the bigger issues. I truly hope that we get back to where we were a few years ago but I'm struggling to see it happening. Remember, we're all on the same side here.

You laugh but football is a business ultimately and as a business our club has never been better...

And which is it that matters to you, as a fan?

A 100 Woodward types could do his job, its not Ed that sells them the deal, its Manchester United...

I’m firmly of the belief that anybody that can’t see this (it’s so bloody obvious) is a halfwit, to be quite frank.

Woodward has sacked Mourinho and rang the daily papers to tell them. How believable.

Who leaked the Moyes and LvG sacking? Mourinho? Absolute bloody nonsense.

Its very telling that so many can see this and their immediate response is a superficial glee rather than recognising that the problems here are much deeper than whatever manager is in charge.

This is basically the exact same as what happened with previous 2 managers. Some fans treat it all like a new signing. Give me something shiny and its all good again. People like Neville have it so so right.

To be fair our squad is pretty good in parts. We deserve to be top four on paper. What's missing is a couple of good buys and, critically, someone who can coach good players to another level. That's what Klopp, Poch and Pep have in common. If we can't get that, then getting rid of Jose won't bring long term success.

Zidane? I don't see it. Maybe he can, but it isn't what he did at Madrid.

Lloris > De Gea? And why are you comparing starters for them like Dembele to Herrera who is on the bench. Same with Son/Rashford.
Where exactly does it say Lloris>DDG? I said Spurs have a superior team in every position. Except for GK and CM. Where DDG and Pogba would go. And its for last season. Fair enough Dembele>Matic.

Not important to me in the slightest.

The point still stands that as a business we are exceptionally well run. A little negative PR doesn’t really change that.

You're an absolute trainwreck here.

I’m completely right and have been since six months into the Mourinho reign.

I’ve expanded on my thoughts about the club in much detail elsewhere and I don’t subscribe to the ludicrous belief that the club is in some sort or disarray. It needs an attacking coach that can breathe life into an excellent squad of players. A right winger wouldn’t go amiss either, for what it’s worth.

I’ll be in here saying I told you so when the likes of Martial and Pogba are turning it on and the same people that slated them come back into the player threads to lick their arses (see Luke Shaw).

Spot on!

Far superior squad in every position? What?
Ok then pal. Kane>Lukaku. Son>Rashford. Eriksen>Lingard. Dembele>Herrera/Matic. Trippier>Our failed RW converted RB Valencia. Alderweireld/Vertonghen I shouldnt even need to explain. Davies>Young who was our starting LB when we finished 2nd last season while Spurs finished where exactly?

True but is sacking him the priority right now? If we sack him and don’t appoint a suitable choice then it just shows how we have no plan. There’s no direction and it’s been clear to see for a while

Ah apologies. Read the Berbaclass quote instead of your post which explained it in full.

Yup. Like he said, it's disgraceful and illustrates how bad we're run - and this is coming from someone who lost nearly all faith in Mourinho.

We're shite as a football club, and it all happened once Fergie and Gill stepped down. That all that matters for everyone except the board. We can keep being the richest or the highest value, will mean shite if we're out of competition of big titles. We'll basically become the Dallas Cowboys of football.

You kinda answered my question by stating that we were better than them last year.

We have a better squad than them which is why we finished above them because they had little quality outside of their starting XI and it cost them over the course of the season.
