People people think Jose will lead the team tomorrow? Unless this is a load of bollocks and nothing happens he’s gone in the morning. No chance he leads the team out tomorrow after being told he’s fired it makes zero sense.

I can't even tell if you're being serious anymore. You know sackings aren't just done by word of mouth. It also has to be put into writing ie a formal letter. Do you also think contracts are made by handshake?

Are you having a laugh? Some are done by text but I bet the majority are by face to face meetings. I doubt anyone is formally sacked by letter. I would think one would have to be written regarding formal termination of contract etc but that would just be for official purposes and would be done by a club lawyer or possibly Woodward himself. There's no way club employees or office staff would be given info like this that they could leak or even sell to the press unless it was by accident or mistake.

If it was leaked it was either done on purpose or somebody fecked up. No way are people sat around United offices discussing this prior to the manager being told.

Whatever the board do, it better be some real change this time. I’m talking restructuring of the hierarchy with regard to the onfield matter... especially after they didn’t fully back Jose in the summer despite giving huge vote of confidence a few months prior with a new contract. These rumours of DoFs better be true.

I'm sure this kind of thing has happened before?

He'll have a mega pay-off coming his way. Woodward will presumably have promise not to fight him on any of it if Jose keeps things together until after tomorrow.

Real change will be when that clown Woodward fecks off. The common denominator in our miserable post-Ferguson era.

Didn't expect it to happen so soon. Was expecting it right before Xmas.

Sad to see United fans happy with this. Not the sacking itself, that happens, but with how utterly clueless and inept the club is. They constantly bang on about how Mourinho embarrassed the club, yet are quite happy with reports that club bosses embarrass the club in this way. I don't get it at all. Maybe they're drinking as its friday and sorer heads will have a different view in the morning.

I hope its not true. For many reasons, the clubs reputation for one but also to see the reaction of those currently bouncing. And if it isn't true, I hope the club has the balls to ban The Mirror and all affiliated with it from entering Old Trafford or having any access at all to the club, its players, managers or other staff. However, if true, then the leak needs to be removed, whoever it may be.

Consider this, we are 8 points behind and this has probably put us 11 behind.... and people think its going to "save our season".

I’ve seen speculation about managers last games but surely the speculation surrounding this will be crazy in the morning especially if United refuse to comment I just can’t see it happening.

That Ducker article has me thinking Mourinho wants out. De Brun and Castles have been hinting it.

Don't really get what's so embarrassing about it leaking to be honest, other than it being a bit strange.
Are people just thinking it is because everyone keeps saying so or am I missing something?

I'm more concerned about the lack of direction from the board than this being leaked.

Now it’s been leaked and people know I just don’t see the point? Imagine the dressing room tomorrow.

Pay him off in the morning then have Carrick or Butt take the Newcastle game

One of Jose's main downfalls was taking on a demanding pundit role in Russia over the summer after an exhausting season. He should have been in a pair of tight speedo's in Acapulco playing beach volley with topless babes to recharge the batteries.

If the reports are indeed true then I could see him take one of USA, Russia or Portuguese national jobs.

Yeah, add that to Mourinho’s camp being the potential leakers to force the clubs hand , he’ll get sympathy and possibly won’t have to further embarrass himself tomorrow if we fail to beat Newcastle.

I'm with you to be honest.

I do think he will lead the team out because I think he'll get a great reception from the fans and will make of point of highlighting that to all watching. That strikes me as the most Mourinho course of action.

I am dreading us bringing in the wrong man.
Imo, time to be bold. De Zerbi for me.

What are you on about? Who said initial notification can't be by text or verbal notice? Whatever method is used has to be followed by writing. The bolded is just so wrong it's illiterate

Also If it's true mendez was at the United offices today then there's every possibility this thing is further along than many realise. By now there will definitely be people at the club who are in the know about an impending sack

Best decision for the club. But outlines why we are in desperate need of a DOF. Jose not backed with signings after finishing 2nd. At the same time Jose failing to get decent performances out of his signings. Both woodward and Jose to blame. Woodward as usual dithering and had no plan in terms of signings and managerial replacements. Now whats next? Another manager another 200m? What we need is a DOF. One who will hand out contracts to the likes of Shaw, DDG, Bailly, Martial and get rid of players like Jones, Rojo, Darmian. Someone who will assess the team and say oh Matic looks exhausted lets consider a young replacement. And someone give the club direction. A man who will sign players for bargains and frees but also make big money moves when worth it like Juventus do. But also someone who will say NO when the manager wants to blow 75 million on Lukaku. Woodward needs to let his ego go and realise he cant do the footballing side. Oncd that's sorted then the managerial position will get sorted.

Exactly this!

Iregardless of feelings about Jose, it would be quality if the crowd get a chant going
"Gary Neville is a red, he hates woodward!"

Couldn’t agree more. The DoF appointment is the big one that we need to hit the nail on the head with. Woodard needs to stay well clear from the footballing decisions and leave that to the DoF to conduct.

Unfortunately though, I cannot see this happening tbh

I’m pretty sure if this wasn’t happening given the traction it’s getting then a denial, even this late at night would have been released.

Ducker, who’s connected at United can’t even get a denial. It’s done.
Yup, this is my thinking as well.

I wouldn't be surprised if it's true. The club is a joke. In terms of timing it would make perfect sense because the club have 2 weeks to hide from the journos.

If we have agreed a settlement agreement with Jose then the leak is news management.

If so expect a "thanks for hard work" statement and radio silence from Jose for a few months.
I still think it’s Jose trying to gain sympathy from the fans before he leaves.

Maybe we'll make Mourinho work the rest of his contract managing the ladies team? Would do wonders for the women's game.
