It's almost 5 weeks since Colombia played their last game, but I get your point.

Not to say we've had a great transfer window, but I don't think Barcelona's window would have been all that great even if they do sign Cuadrado. Mathieu and Vermaelen isn't doing much to solve their CB issues. RB is still a major issue for them. Their attack will still be extremely narrow as Suarez does nothing to provide width by operating in the same areas Messi and Neymar. Sure they improved the squad a bit, but I still don't fancy them in Europe.
If the window closed today Bayern would have to be the strong favorites for the Champions League IMO. Real's summer transfer window seemingly was a plan to create imbalance in the squad and mess up the identity Ancelotti had forged last year. Shoehorning James and Kroos into the side while losing Di Maria (epically stupid even for Real) and pushing two of Modric, Khedira and Alonso to the bench should be hilarious to watch. Isco and Illaramendi will struggle for opportunities in the starting XI and will likely have to be content making substitute appearances. This is another squad, like Barcelona, that could have used a quality CB signing.
Obviously I would much rather have the problems that Barcelona and Madrid face, but I also would expect the board in both of those situations to have found long-term solutions to problems, rather than replicating skill sets and strengthening areas and positions that don't need it.
It might be the year when Ronaldo starts to transition to a striking position.
That would allow:
Bale - James - Isco
Ronaldo
OR
Xabi - Modric
Bale - Kroos - James
Ronaldo

I doubt it tbh. Sounds like the're definitely going to sign Falcao.

1) No way Di Maria will stay-------Modric/Kroos---Xabi Alonso-----------
Ronaldo-------Isco/James---------Bale/Di Maria
--------------Benzema/Falcao----------------
That's basically cheating.
Would make sense, but when you have Neymar, Suarez, Messi & co, you would think most sane people, regardless of how good they think they are, would know they are not going to get a lot of play time upfront. As for playing in the Alves type role, is that what he really wants. At the end of the day if he really wants Barca, then we are not going to get him. I would only go for him, if Di Maria is really not an option as I think it will end in tears. With Zubizaretta basically confirming Barca are still in the race to sign him I'd say this one is no go. I suspect he will choose them over us what with him speaking Spanish and being South American

Can't argue with that. If it's them or Real Madrid we usually don't stand a chance..how much more w/o Champions Leagie or even european football? He'll go to Barcelona for sure. They get things done.
Not always legally. He'll go to Barcelona for sure. They get things done.
I know youtube clips can be misleading but from whatever I could tell from the few I saw, he looks like the type of wide player we need. We've got technical ability from our number 10's and goals from our number 9's, what we lack is that player with rapid pace who can leave defenders for dead who is also a proper dribbler.I think he'd do well as a complimentary player on a top team, unlike a lot of dribbling wingers. He doesn't really go into blind alleys and he's a decent passer. Works hard defensively for a winger, too.
He looks a big upgrade at LWB (Kuyt at the WC and Young on tour suggests LVG doesn't care too much about what side a wingback plays on. I like Shaw, but he's young and we have no cover there) or RWB in the 3-4-1-2 (especially if the worrying rumours abut Rafael leaving are true, and if not for when he's hurt) and LW in the 4-3-3 (with Januzaj or the right)
It's hard to see how we wouldn't have a starting spot for him no matter how we play.
There's a bunch of those youtube game videos of him (those 8 minutes pretty much every touch in a game compilation) that are worth watching. They show his dribbling, long shooting, vision, crossing ability, 2-footedness and pace.
Do not trust Catalan media one bit.
Has MD reported it as well?
Neither.
Depressing isn't it. We say we're the biggest club but our transfer business doesn't prove it.Don't think we'll get him. If Barca are interested they always get their targets without fail. Move along.
It's becoming bloody annoying and at this stage my hopes for the season are resting with LVG coaching ability and the world class players we currently have which are thin on the ground.Depressing isn't it. We say we're the biggest club but our transfer business doesn't prove it.
Not only is Sport unreliable, they have actually not said anything about Cuadrado reaching an agreement with United.

It's become the pattern of our transfer windows. We get linked with an abundance of quality players but very often do we buy them and it usually turns out we have no interest in them and spend most of the time trying to penny pinch or overpaying for the overrated "premier league proven" while our rivals shopped abroad getting in better players for sometimes cheaper prices. It's becoming bloody annoying and at this stage my hopes for the season are resting with LVG coaching ability and the world class players we currently have which are thin on the ground.
At the moment our squad is no where near being title contenders and maybe just about top 4.
I'd say it looks as if we're once again feeding off scraps with severely over estimated back ups as our other options.
This is how I see the transfer window panning out:
Vidal? No well get Blind "offers value"
Caudrado? No he'll go Barca "never in"
Di Maria? Maybe but unlikely "no value"
Benatia? No he'll go Chelsea
Well get Blind and Vlaar. The club will proposition that the key signings were made early on and be smug about it whilst the rest if the football world laughs us off as potential outsiders for top 4.
Sport Witness doesn't make things up though. Many people seem to be reporting this.
this is about the tenth million time you've changed your opinion on what's going to happen this window, so here's a thought, stop predicting things and pretending you know shit, when clearly you haven't a clue. It's becoming bloody annoying and at this stage my hopes for the season are resting with LVG coaching ability and the world class players we currently have which are thin on the ground.

Euros. Still pricey though.40m for Cuadrado?
It cannot possibly be true - that's simply outrageous.
It's possible but I'm checking their web pages and they are running the usual stuff. Right now MD goes with 'Crucial week for Cuadrado' and 'Cuadrado waiting for Barcelona', posted this morning.

Sport Witness didn't tweet the Mundo stuff. Think that is a ManutdStuff rehash from yesterday's report maybe.
They did it about the Sport one re personal terms.
It's just more bollocks from the foreign media.Recurring theme.
Woodward does know he needs to agree a deal with the selling club too?
