Cristiano Ronaldo

Nonsense. He was given more than enough space. He's just not that good unless he has acres of space. His passing was poor, his touch just as bad, and his shots meh ... lost possession plenty.

Wasn't sure what he was talking about.

He had more room than other players are afforded at times, he was all over the place though. Like his team mates, extremely lucky for a shady referee

He was very average today. Rafael did an excellent job on him.

He's also coming back.

"It was unbelievable night very emotional, I'm never going to forget this moment"

"For one side I feel happy for Madrid but I feel a little bit sad its not easy to forget this home, where I was for 6 years"

"I came here like a child the feeling is strange I feel shy in my game, I can't explain the feeling"

Ronaldo on returning to United: "The future we never know, but the supporters here and the club are massive. For one side I feel happy for Madrid but I feel a little bit sad its not easy to forget this home, where I was for 6 years. The reception for me tonight was unbelievable. It was a very emotional moment for me. I will never forget it."

I'm more convinced after those 2 games against Madrid than I ever was before he will be coming back.

He looked upset when he scored, he looked upset at the final whistle.

He'll be back.

Very quite till the red intervened, but then again he has alway been good for a goal even when he isn't playing at his best.

I wish the idiots still worshipping Ronaldo would feck off. He scored a lot of goals for us but that was all to like about him.

So what insight do you have to dislike him, given that SAF and the rest of the players still seem to like him?

Because they were his mates. Did anyone else in England like him? No, not really. We put up with him because he scored goals.

I'm not coming back into this thread.

Definitely seemed to me like he wasn't giving his all after he scored. Had he tried harder he could have easily scored again I think, particularly a few times where he just went to do a little placement shot instead of him normal rockets. Such a respectful player, and has more of a right to be called a legend then the cnut that is Roy keane. Hope he comes back, and think he will.

Why were you banned?

Bollocks. Acres of space? Rafael and Carrick was on him the entire match.

Rubbish statement. The vast majority of fans did not simply 'put up with' Ronaldo.

The interview I'm watching on Sky says "..On the other hand I feel sad because Manchester deserved [it]"

I'm assuming the "home for 6 years" is another one?

Can't see how not giving his all, if you believe that (I disagree) is a mark of a respectful player.

I never really understood why former players don't celebrate against old clubs which they love, now it makes sense. I think I would be extra gutted if he'd acted like a nob and celebrated all over the place. He was a great player for us after all.

He's an unbelievable player and a great lad who gets a great amount of undeserved stick everywhere he goes.

There are much bigger cnuts in world football who are worshipped by everyone like they were saints.

You just spew up some shite and it happened to type those letters?
Got bad press from the media because it was an easy target with his diving in the earlier years, everyone else jumped on the bandwagon. Sure, he was cocky but not to the point it was arrogant, but of course, the rest of the country hounded him for it. If you watch the mini docos/interviews at his home and the like he's a sound guy. Always been hugely respectful towards United, Fergie and the fans too. There was nothing to put up with other than him wanting to play for Madrid but I know I'd be the same if I was playing at somewhere other than United.

I noticed that as well. There were times when we were chasing the game and when Real went on the counter he was up against only Rio and Vidic, and I thought if he really wanted to he could have easily beaten them for both pace and trickery but he slowed it down as if to deliberately 'mess' it up.

My Dad thought the same but I brushed it off. I can't see anyone holding back on purpose, nevermind Ronaldo. Maybe he was mentally drained?

Yep, like Roy fecking Keane!

Lets be honest. He's a complete self centred fanny.

If him not celebrating gets 10 millions of you gimps sucked his penis and begging for him to 'come home' then he's happy.

I'm sure he loves united, lots, but not as much as he loves himself. He likes headlines, he likes the "comme back Ronnee" and he 100% would have loved to score the goal that knocked us out.

Get real.

Oh, and he has more chance of being the first man on mars than returning to united.

Sometimes u gotta realise that the majority of people on this board are 16.

So am I the only that felt towards the end that he wasn't really giving it his all to score?

I seem to remember a few counters towards the very end where he slowed down or didn't shoot in chances that he normally would've went for without hesitation?

Their whole team played like that in a way. They probably would have gotten another one had they really really wanted it.

He didn't have a good game. Didn't really do anything of note other than popping up and getting the goal and was very quite for long periods. So we dealt with his threat fairly well for the most part.

Him not celebrating the goal was nice, but in the end doesn't mean anything.

FFS, give the boy some break

At least if you're not sucking his cock, acknowledge that he's been classy towards us.

He could have played better, he's playing like a dickless gutless passionless chicken, and I don't know if he did that on purpose, but i guess it's an emotional ride for him

This is the team you spent 6 years of your youth with, through up and downs, glory and defeat, do you really think it'll be just another game for him?

Sorry, Cristiano - that Nando's deal is off.

I'm saying nothing after the abysmal failure of Mystic Steve's Predictions™, chief. :D

Yep, there's been enough controversy for one night, chief.
