His celebration is fecking annoying. A goal crafted all by Benzema's brilliance, yet rather than running to him with a bit of humility, he runs off in the other direction with that extra smug 'look at me' celebration.

It's like you choose to see what you want and forget about the rest. Benzema is his buddy and he celebrated with him, this has got to be one of the pettiest things to be annoyed about.

This is nothing new, though there's nothing "wrong" in this. This was not an important match in any case. What was weird was his (lack of) celebration for Ramos' goal in CL final.

Let's not re-write history mate. 18 seconds in, who's the one that celebrates and grabs the ball to start the process of winning the match?

93 mins, CL final, team losing by a goal. And if you call that a celebration, my idea of celebrating with teammates is different from yours. I recall he was the only (have to check video footage again) player not to go to corner where all other RM players were celebrating. I am sure you will find youtube footage for that.

Possibly but the mentality is to win the match in normal time. He clearly celebrated (the point that corrects your initial statement), then grabbed the ball to start the process of kicking off again and aiming to defeat Atleti in the remaining time. Just like United in 99. That's the mentality within him. Nothing wrong in that, in fact, I prefer that attitude than overtly celebrating a goal that while saving the tie from being over, can become trivial if you lose in the remaining minutes of the game. Celebrate when you win, just like 2008.

^^ Clearly, I don't agree with this statement, but you're entitled to your opinion. It's like saying rest 10 players who celebrated the goal were wrong.

mate, seriously

shut your hole
Seriously, I've avoided the Messi thread most the time and you should do the same with this one.

You're just butthurt that the Ballon D'Or this year is not looking good for you lot.

you dont get it at all

i dont dislike ronaldo, i think he is one of the best players ever and i'm mighty greatfull for what he did for us

so if he wins the ballon d'or i'm going to be happy

maybe if a german wins it i wont like it, because they beat argentina in the final game of the world cup

the one were messi won player of the tournament and came second

the one you saw two games till you decided that you prefer to follow the national kayak under 14 tournament

mbuahahaha

To be fair, I don't think it's the cockiness that bothers people. Cantona, Best, Muhammed Ali and many others all were loved and worshipped when they were arguably even more arrogant. I don't know what is it about Ronaldo, maybe that his cockiness is charmless or not as cool or whatever, I can't put my finger on it to be honest with you. I don't hate him at all to be fair but I definitely can see why he rubs people the wrong way.

Something like that, yes. Comparing C. Ronaldo to Ali (or Best, or Cantona) is like comparing Miley Cyrus to Miles Davis.

No, I don't, you say you don't dislike Ronaldo, but you get all upset when he breaks records ahead of Messi or wins the Ballon D'or or whatever.

Anyway, even Messi seemed embarrassed with that WC player of the tournament award.

That's an odd topic to mock given your allegiances because, well, you know.

I don't get problem people have with Ronaldo celebrating or not celebrating or whatever. Only thing is, does it matter to other players in his team and to his manager? I don't think it does because otherwise you would have seen more disharmony in the team, reflecting on pitch. Everybody knows that RM is not a team where there is a culture of all players being best of friends. Too much politics goes on there backstage. Given this, maybe some of them are not best of friends but work professionally towards common goal and hence lack of crazy celebrations. At United, this was never issue, his lack of celebrations and you can put it down to different club culture. Second, he isn't totally detached from team. He does celebrate but not excessively.
It is actually really stupid point to discuss, a player not celebrating excessively. Funnily, it seems to be a problem for people who are not Real Madrid fans, so I wonder why it matters to them. Actually we all know why :D

Real 1 up against Malaga, Ronaldo with a terrific assist for Benzema.

How dare you? Everyone knows Ronaldo doesn't do assists, and he gets all upset when his team mates score, according to that lot anyway.

Let's bash Benzema! He didn't celebrate with Ronaldo. What a selfish player, not a team man etc etc

 How did he not score there? Malaga GK has been in superb form this game.

Could have had more assists today had Benzema been better in 2nd half. Plus that shot which Kameni saved, overall good game he had.

He even celebrated Bale's goal with a fist pump.. he's been a good boy today :p

Punched the air in anger when Bale scored instead of him.

Rumoured to have called Messi a motherfecker in the dressing room too after finishing the game with no goals.
