Yep, Ballague wrote that in his new book apparently. Also that whoever is seen talking to Messi is called motherfecker by Ronaldo and his teammates. and Ronaldo's teammates call Messi his little dog..

I'll take that with a pinch of salt but then again it wouldnt surprise me tbh.
 if true, that's actually a little sad

Ronaldo seems to me like he's a bit obsessed with Messi.
I could be wrong of course but its just an observation.

He's more so obsessed with winning everything in sight - both club and individual honors. What's scary about both Ronaldo and Messi is they would probably be on their 7th or 8th Ballon D'or or thereabouts, if they didn't have the misfortune as playing at the same time as the other.

Well that's connected since Messi is his main adversary in winning everything in sight and being label as the best in history which he clearly wants. :)

The more insight we have about footballers the more we see how they act like little kids. This is the era of the metrosexual manchild and Cristiano Ronaldo represents it perfectly.

Have to agree with this.

Anyone of you ever played football for a team? If you're playing a team regularly with a brilliant or rough player they'll get a nickname, usually not a nice one. It's competitiveness coming out and Madrid and Barcelona really hate each other so of course they'll have a name for Ronaldo at Barcelona too.

Yup, nothing sensational or anything this.

News are circulating that I allegedly made offending remarks regarding Lionel Messi. This is absolutely false and I have assured my lawyer takes action to sue those responsible. I have the utmost respect for all my professional colleagues, and Messi is obviously no exception.

Ballbag going to prison. Good night fat prince.i wish

So ronaldo calls messi "names" in the intimacy of the locker rooms, with his fellow players ... so what? there's a huge rivalry there and i wouldnt be surprised messi did the same with ronaldo

the good thing is that football lovers arround the world get to witness the best competition ever between two of the best players in history

i was thinking about starting a thread wondering who will end this CL with the better record, THATS how good they both are

Just curious, how do you guys view Ronaldo in relative to Eusebio? As in has he surpassed him as the best Portuguese footballer ever?

I'm not Portuguese, but I honestly think that's not even a question anymore.

they could have come up with a better nickname though. Imagine him going around branding everyone 'motherfecker' Man, this shit is gold.

Lies!! Obvious lies from Ronaldo. Don't take away the pleasure of calling him names for some of the posters here who obviously think they know him well enough to pass remarks based on uncredited stories.

Tells a lot about those football fans as well who view Ballague's report as 'insight.'

Who the feck cares? And for whoever cares, are you really that surprised? When you're as determined and ambitious as Ronny you tend to be pretty fecking competitive as well. If it wasn't for Messi, Ronny would have had 4/5+ Ballon D'ors in a row, obviously there's a bit of tension between them. He does well to seem professional in the media but everyone who has played football would know the changing rooms are a world of themselves.

I don't doubt he is. Hasn't really done him any harm either though, he might have began to relax without the competition.

I agree. Messi being around has pushed him to another level he probably wouldn't have got to otherwise.

That wouldn't surprise me. I almost sympathize with him actually. He is setting new records every week, scoring at an unprecedented rate and perfecting every skill he possesses and it's still not enough. The media makes it sound like it's a big debate of who's better but whenever professional football people are asked, it's always something like 80/20 or 90/10 in favour Messi. It's not even close, the majority views Ronaldo as incredible, great, machine-line but Messi as a God. Of course I'm talking about their overall careers and not any specific period. What's even more more frustrating for him is that these views are right and he can't do anything about it. It must be incredibly frustrating.

Cristiano Ronaldo seems to be a resentful person, who feels familiar with the superficial and ordinary values of a club like Real Madrid.

It may well be true, but I still can't get over your ridiculous defence of Suarez. You sympathize with Suarez and the mother of all virtuous clubs that is Barcelona?

Fixed

This is true. But I don't see why it should be so frustrating. He's making the most of his talent and being how good he is, is pretty bloody incredible, as it is, without comparisons to you-know-who.

I hope Ronaldo sues Ballague who is famous for writing bullshit regarding football for years now.
Ballbag was spot on with Herrera, Di Maria and Falcao this summer, to be fair. He was wrong about Thiago but I think it became clear then that it was the club who buggered up the deal. He definitely has sources when it comes to Spanish teams and Mendez.

There have also been many examples of him being wrong. He has sources no doubt and sometimes he can also create stories out of nothing.

Ronaldo trying to look taller on photos.

FFS.

I make fun of my girlfriend for doing this in the mirror and she's like like 80cm. What a vain pig he is.

I suppose that's one way to look at it. There are some people though who want to be the best, viewed the best and anything less is simply not enough. I suppose it's to do with ego or something like that, it can be petty but that's the way we are.

Lies, they are best buds

But yes more seriously, Ronaldo has said here in Portugal, that he is going to sue Ballague for making up this story.

Why does he need to comment so much on Messi? It's like he's obsessed with Messi for some reason or another.

I don't see Messi making too many comments about him.

There is related link in that article:

but it would dismissed as political correctness.

What I think is there is no way both DON'T have utmost respect for each other, at least privately. Both know what efforts they have put in to reach that level and if you put effort in something and reach a level way higher than colleagues and peers in something you do and you find someone else doing that too, you ought to have respect for him because you know what efforts go in, in doing that. Otherwise if you just hate that person without respect means you hate yourself too or don't value your own efforts or achievements. Yeah a bit preachy but...
