Yes because we are breaking the transfer records every year, aren't we?

It's pretty clear we have a manager now who wont object to large expenditure if the club deem it within our means and he can get top quality in. I am not suggesting that every summer will be like last summer but I think we'll see a difference to Fergie's mentality under LvG, he is a coach not a bean counter, Fergie fancied himself both.

The idea that we could buy Ronaldo, a CM and a CB next summer is not outlandish IMO.

End of the day, its about a function of need and priorities. Can happen sure, won't complain one bit.

Of course, agreed, I don't see LvG buying for the sake of it as such but Ronaldo is of such elite quality I don't think he'd pass if the option materializes as a reality.

Everyone is forgetting the number 7, the number Ronny loves! Perhaps 'Zamorano style' 1+6 on the back?

Is this on? It's on isn't it? Can we start the Ronaldo transfer muppet thread early? Please? ;p

It will actually happen. All I can think about is how much he'll cost on fantasy football

Ronaldo has done it all in Spain and doing it again may not mean very much to him, so I get why he'd want to come back.

But it's not so easy a decision to bring him back. What are the issues? He'd cost a fortune, he soon may no longer be the footballer he once was and it could disrupt what I hope is our plan to mould Januzaj into the next Ronaldo, or at least the next Robben. I'm not saying these are insurmountable problems, but they are issues we'd have to weigh carefully.

Imagine the legacy he will have if he comes back, and we win the league on his return.

Untouchable legacy at United.

Erm no, it's really not that simple considering ones a striker and the other a wide player/forward. Falcao is only 28, one of the best strikers in recent years going into his prime, if he bags goals for us this season, then I can 99.9% guarantee, that Falcao will be signed up, regardless of whether Ronaldo rejoins or not.

I cant see us spending around 70-80m on forwards especially when one is 28 and the other one is 30. If Ronaldo signs then Falcao won't be retained UNLESS Falcao ends up with a brilliant season and someone is willing to spend crazy money for Rooney or RVP.

And you may not notice but Ronaldo is also goal machine. He is also a great dribbler and fantastic player who can play upfront and on both flanks

Agree. If we sign Ronaldo, we won't buy Falcao. I'd much rather have a 30-year-old Ronaldo than a 29-year-old Falcao, though, so that's fine by me. Another winger would complete the attack, switch to 4-3-3 with Ronaldo and ADM on the wings and Rooney up front.

De Gea
Rafael Hummels Rojo Shaw
Herrera Blind DiMaria
Rooney
Ronaldo Falcao

Let's ignore him breaking the all time goal scoring record in the CL en route to the final...

You might as well say Ramos won La Decima.
How many of Ronaldo's goals in that CL run were actually important? Don't want to try and belittle his achievement but a lot of them came when Real were already winning by 2 or 3 goals, or from penalties.

You do know that this pic is photoshopped though, don't you Raoul?

Rubbish, the photo of him next to a blank screen is the photoshop! ;)

Don't worry Vato, you can eventually accept that United are slowly buying Madrid's elite. Next summer is Ronnie time, the year after will be Bale. Enjoy them whilst you can!

Ha! We've snapped up Chicharito and next year we'll be back for Ashley Young and Valencia! So let's see who laughs last!

I can see him ending his career at United but he will most probably come back when he is 34-35 to have one last hurrah with us.

Perez is not silly enough to let Ronaldo leave anytime soon when it would surely be the final nail in his coffin. If that happens I can imagine Calderon waiting in the wings with Real's new marquee signing, Nicolas Cage, all but wrapped up. Ronaldo has just signed a new contract last season and there is no way Real will sell under these circumstances especially with no one in world football capable of replacing him at Real. Can only think of Marco Reus but even then Madristas won't be satisfied with that as Reus is not in Ronaldo's league.

Can you imagine if Madrid brought Ashley Young and he went on to basically mirror Ronaldo, with like 50 goals a season and a ballon d'or. I don't think I can actually imagine it, I'm trying but I think it's causing internal brain damage.
