I think it came up on his official twitter and facebook pages. Looks like a genuine message...

You can sync the two accounts so that what you post on one automatically gets posted on the other. That said though if he had been hacked I'm sure it would have been deleted by now.

I was quite optimistic at first but Hectic is sort of right. Suppose its all the stuff about him not wanting to sign for Madrid or even enter negotiations and that his renewal will cost them €166m. Suppose that's all he's rubbishing. :(

Depends what way you are looking at it from. It could mean either way TBH, but more than likely responding to recent speculation that madrid cannot afford to resign him.

I don't possibly understand how that can be your first though from that tweet? All I thought was that chances are he is playing hardball, trying to get a nice big last contract and show Madrid that he is still very much sought after and to try and raise his contract renewal price.

How can you first thought be to assume that a tweet that basically declared, he hasn't renewed his contract yet, has anything to do with the fact he is secretly trying to tell United fans... Come on!

Here's my crap interpretation:

* Ronaldo mention all news, not merely recent speculation.
* Perez has been doing this very self-serving routine, along the lines of 'Cristiano will be renewing any second now!'...for ages. This displeases Cristiano.
* OMGZ Crispiano come home!1! etc. Ahem.
*That's all.

You are taking this thread too seriously. I don't think anybody actually believes he will be back this summer. It's just a bit of fun, and as I said, it couldn't have happened to a nicer club than Real Madrid.

It's a shame all this social media stuff of his is probably being read by some suave PR bloke.

Ronaldo is such a cocktease. Now he has given me hope even though I know this summer will likely be another let down.

Amazing. Ronaldo takes to twitter to quash rumors of him signing a new contract with Madrid (for now) , and newspapers go wild on speculation he is off.

Perez said ronaldo is going to sign, i reckon it pissed off ronaldo. He obviously isnt too happy there. he has nothing to prove but is always doubted.

This is a muppets nightmare. We get all excited even though its clearly not happening, then it does down for about a week and somebody starts it all off again. Stop toying with us :(

 He's using us. As someone said earlier, he could just be disputing the terms suggested in the press or something along those lines.

How I would love to be wrong and it is basically him just trying to tell Perez to feck off and let him leave to United, but Perez has talked way too much to let him leave now

Again, as I said earlier basically he'll sign a new contract with them before the season starts and then at some point next season that moron Ian McGarry will tout around either on twitter or on the Monday Night Club that the move to MUFC was definitely for sure certain to happen at one point before it didn't.

Don't Madrid just throw money at any problems they have? Why aren't they doing so in this case?

Anyway, good on Ronaldo, making that club sweat a bit.

Cristiano and his agent are smart, compare his approach to new contract/moving away to one of our own players.

does ronaldo really care about all that money? he has loads, what would a bit extra do for him?

In my experience, people with enormous amounts of cash always want more. Doesn't matter if it's a footballer, businessman, or a banker.
but what if he genuinely wants a move, it shouldnt be surprising at all. If he left us when we were on top of the world, as was he, then wouldnt he want a move away from that circus?

I said sometime last week that Perez was protesting far too much for all to be hunky-dory behind the scenes.

It's not necessarily about what the money would do for him. As I said earlier I think he wants to be the best paid footballer in the world. It's an ego and a prestige thing. Ronaldo loves that sort of thing.

He's never been in any way or form an 'arsehole'.

When he started his final season with us, he was coming back from ankle surgery if I remember correctly and it took him longer to reach the form he expected from himself, which might have led to some frustration with himself on his part. I understand that and it's a quality in him I appreciate, because it shows ambition. On top of that, the guy would get kicked all the time, with British refs turning a blind eye to the culprits.

Say what you want about Cristiano off the pitch, but on the pitch IMO he's almost always been the ultimate pro. There's a reason why Fergie was so fond of him and kept this fondness even after Ronaldo's departure. I once heard that Ronaldo was always the first to come for training and the last to leave.

I don't know what more some of you wanted from him? Complaining about him allegedly 'not being arsed' despite him scoring two goals just seems spoilt to me. The guy gave us six wonderful years and if I could pick any player in this world for us to buy, it would withouth the shadow of a doubt be him.

In Ronaldo's case that's most likely true, I for one am not doubting it...however it's gotten to the point where this exact statement is made about so many players (generaly, not United-wise) that you start to think how genuine these kind of claims really are.

Yeah, you kinda imagine a stampede for Carrington's gates at 9am, and a load of players standing still at midnight because no-one wants to be seen to leave first.

Have I missed something? There is a tweet where he claims he hasn't renewed with Madrid. How does that equate to Ronaldo re-signing for us? Moreover, is he going to announce his decision today or something? I read a post which claimed that we will know by tonight who he will play for next season.
