Ronaldo knew Madrid wanted him, he knew they'd have a bid accepted and he wanted to go. He was asked by the manager to stay for one more season and he could have his transfer and according to a lot of sources it was already agreed and finalized. So he could have just coasted through the season, he could have just taken it easy but he busted his balls and had one of his most productive seasons ever. Yes he stropped but no more than any other season, people just assumed he was stropping more because of all the talk about him wanting to go to Madrid. Actually, the media stories just magnified his strops and tantrums and made them seem like more than they were.

Somebody already said it, that lad gave 100% every time he played for us and was a dedicated professional, who knew he was capable of winning games on his own and didn't shy away from that mantle. Yes, he had games were he was shite and moody, but maybe he was more pissed off with himself, than anyone else and everyone can have an off day.

He's also had nothing but respect for the manager and the club since he left, wich is a lot more than can be said of a lot of ex players.
 
Throwing the jersey on the ground after being substituted, walking towards the tunnel straight after substitution (apparently he was injured), generally throwing a strop at everyone on the pitch etc etc. Probably they were analysed much more due to his summer flirtations, but by god, he was an annoying prick.
 
Nah he's just annoyed with himself!!

There were loads more minor incidents throughout the season where he acted like that. It wasn't the end of the world and the benefits of keeping him 1 more year far outweighed the negatives. But he wasn't the same. And I can't recall too many ex players talking shit about the club or the manager so that's nothing I wouldn't expect from an ex player.
 
It's hilarious the reaction even I had a momentary cock-pang whereby my brain stopped working and I found my hands typing out words like "Ronnie cum home plz k thx"

But, what if the news about his renewal with Madrid was actually all negative? Does that mean that given it's now false, he's close to renewing with them?

Well what has been the news so far?

1) He supposedly rejected a deal from Real Madrid.
2) Other stories said no talks have taken place/no offer made.
3) One recent set of stories quoted him has saying "He is confident a new deal will be reached" or something along those lines.

Well that FB post certainly sheds a bunch of light on the subject.

He was injured.

That leaves the throwing the jersey after he was subbed, but then again he always looked like crying when subbed off.

So not much at all in terms of examples of him acting 'more of an arsehole' in his last season compared to before.
 
Cannot see any reason why he would comment on speculation about him signing a contract, unless it was to show other interested parties that he is still available and not committing further :drool:

Ronaldo wants to be the best paid player in the world. His massive ego needs it. Messi and Ibra reportedly earn more than him right now and he's using us to get the money from Madrid. One thing is for certain he won't be the best paid if he joins us and he knows this and I doubt he has any real intention to return.

According to Sport Witness in today's paper AS claimed that extending Ronaldo's contract by three years, to 2018, will cost Madrid €166m.

Could that be what he's saying is false?
