Cristiano Ronaldo

Here's one thing I don't get... Now I don't completely understand the Financial Fairplay rules, but if anyone is to take the FFP rules seriously...

Who or how can anyone afford Ronaldo at the current market price and not violate those supposed rules. Realistically we are talking about 100M - 120M for him under current market conditions... maybe more. And who would take the risk of the "supposed" consequences of such a move?

How can any team spend that kind of money on 1 player and not violate those rules?

we have absoultely massive feck off turnover and FFP allows for 60% (if not higher) wage to turnover ratio.

We could swing the deal (and the wages) even with FFP (and we could DEFINITELY do it by shifting rooney to anywhere for 35-40 million).

I think Bayern could manage it as well even with a 9 digit transfer fee.

Great player but a complete cock of a man.

so many people say he is a genuine down to earth guy, he loves his family to bits etc but still hes s cock? Even hayley mcqueen said he used to be nice and bring tea for the receptionist etc.

He was just trying to get in there.

Great player and while I would love him back, realistically that ship has sailed. We need to look to the future and not obsess over former players that will probably never return to the club

Did you want Rooney to stay when he said the club lacked ambition, thus earning himself a nice pay increase in the process?

And what did you think of Keane slating the youngsters a few years ago?

What did you think of Van Nistelrooy throwing tantrums because he simply wanted to play more games?

These things happen at clubs, players' feelings change. They behave badly.

How can you not want Ronaldo back, he's not some injury-prone 30 year old?

I think you're misunderstanding me. I'd have Ronaldo back in a second.

We can't afford Ronaldo but can we sign this one up?

What is she, 60? No resell value.

I do not think he can move, Ronaldo is owned by Bankia, which has hypothecated him to the European Central Bank.

I don't like Ronaldo much, but I don't think he's a cock of a man. He's just extremely immature and self-centered, but that is probably the reason for his success as well.

Would take him back at United in a heartbeat, but it won't happen - the cost will be just too much.

Cristiano Ronaldo's agent, Jorge Mendes, has insisted that he always knew about his client's shock admission that he was unhappy with life at Real Madrid.

The 27-year-old stunned the football world after claiming he was left saddened by a 'professional issue' at the club after refusing to celebrate his two goals in the 3-0 Liga victory over Granada on Sunday.

Speculation has intensified over the past 24 hours as to what prompted Ronaldo's comments, but his agent has since released a statement to clarify both his and the player's position on the matter.

"Following [Monday's] reports published by some media outlets, which claim that I have been surprised and bothered by the statements made by Cristiano Ronaldo, I clarify the following," he began. "Firstly, Ronaldo's declarations are based on reasons that are the best of my knowledge. It is at the discretion of Cristiano whether he discloses them or not.

"Secondly, these statements have not surprised me and, much less, caused me any discomfort. The relationship that binds me to Cristiano Ronaldo means he will always count on me with total solidarity."

Meanwhile, former Portugal winger Paulo Futre dismissed the notion that Ronaldo's statements were motivated by money, instead claiming his discontent could be down to a possible lack of support following his failure to win the 2011 Ballon d'Or.

"I left Madrid this morning and the radios [in Spain] are crazy," the ex-AC Milan and Atletico Madrid star told reporters. "They say Ronaldo said what he said because he wants to renew his contract and make more money, but I don't believe that.

"He did not win the Ballon d'Or last year and, perhaps, he did not feel the full support of his club."
Somethings going on. I for one am going milk it for all its worht for the next 2 weeks until we play again, fecking internationals.

Leonardo has told the press when asked PSG have had no interest in siging Ronaldo.

I hope Porto makes a punt at him in January. He might be good enough to replace Hulk.

Kaka has stated that Ronaldo has the support of the team.

Refusing to celebrate his goals is a bit silly. I thought a goal released emotion of some sort. Does that mean he is faking it on other occasions?

I would also say I would prefer it to be money than lack of support for not winning the Ballon d'or. Apart from a hard luck, better luck next time. What more should anyone do for him?

He is a self centred fool.

Would take him back though.

Never knew a player that celebrated so little of his team-mates goals. Self centred indeed. Doesn't seem to suffer for the team, he suffer for himself.

Life's a bitch for some, isn't it. I hope he's got the strength to pull through... ahhh the stress of it all.

He's having an existential crisis isn't he?

Life must be hard when you are getting paid a shed load of money, playing for one of the biggest teams in the world and shagging the world's best looking women. If it were me I'd probably hang myself!

Yes, women.

Ronaldo's claims of slavery were...yeah...but Ronaldo and Messi tower above any other footballers in this generation. IF Ronnie is missing Man Utd and wants to come back we should all welcome him. The danger he poses to any opposition back four is such that just by being on the pitch he makes any team more likely to win trophies.

I think it's a simplistic view. Wealthy and successful people can also suffer from unhappiness. They also have goals and expectations. And Ronaldo doesn't seem the type to be happy being 2nd best.

Thing is, we don't care whether they're unhappy or not. And if he's gay, I suppose that's Michael Jackson's child...
