Ronaldo and Mourinho will definitely not be in the same team next season. Not the best of friends

But it's ballbag. Please be true.

this guy is just a joke. he's like the benitez of "journalism". i find it incredible he's never been pulled up on air about how every summer he makes statements as if he has a single clue whats going on behind the scenes anywhere. i really despise him.

Deserved red, in fact he had lost his head in normal time, with two snide deliberate kicks and a deliberate handball, as well as moaning to the ref far too much about a foul throw that wasn't given, for which he was rightly booked.

Do NOT want back at United.

Because he's a terrible prima donna, and would not be good value for money.

Why do you not want back at United?

Simply because one; we were robbed against Real Madrid at Old Trafford in a match where he was largely ineffective until Nani got sent off and before that, we were clearly holding our own easily. Secondly, we managed to win the Premier League without him and Real Madrid won nothing with him. If it isn't broken then there is no need to fix it.

You've just spent the week celebrating the greatest manager of all time who has dismantled 4 Premier League winning sides and then proceeded to strengthen them.

I can't help but laugh at those who claim they wouldn't want Ronaldo back!

I don't want him back. I think he's a top player but I reckon the money it would be take to get him would be better served strengthening other areas of the team and on younger players. Signing Ronaldo would effectively blow our budget in one transfer. I reckon that would be better in both the short and the long term. My view might have been different in Fergie was still here but certainly not now.

I don't think our recent lack of midfield signing has been down to us blowing our budget, and I don't think we'd decide not to sign a midfielder in the future because we bought Ronaldo. It's not an either or situation for me.

He's not coming back though, I'm sure of that, but I would love to see him back here. On talent alone he's probably the second best player we have ever had.

How big exactly is our budget?

If it ain't broke, do not try to make it better? With that Logic there would not be much progress in the world.

Our team isn't broken, but to suggest we don't need improving is ignorant. As I've said many a time, look at City: stand still and you'll watch all the other top teams skip past you in one quick swoop.

It isn't about fixing, it's about upgrading. As much as you hate him you have to look at him in amazement because he's easily one of the best footballers in the world. Second only to messi.

Based on current performances, I'd even go on to say he's top at the moment. Messi hasn't been so stellar since he had that niggling injury, and Barca rushed him into it a little too fast. If they both keep up their performances as they are now, I reckon Ronaldo will win the Ballon D'Or. Long way to go though.

Like signing RVP? Or Rooney when we had RVN, Saha and just signed Smith who got off to a great start? Or signing Evra when we had Heinze?

I'd argue Ribery had a better season than Ronaldo. He won feck all and was clearly a weak spot in several CL games. Of course, there's no way Ribery will win the Ballon D'Or but Ronaldo doesn't deserve it for this season, that's ridiculous.

He's only scored 55 goals this season and when he played for us he was the one we relied on, and more often than not, he delivered. I think he'd give us a clear edge in the Prem over Chelsea and City whilst also improving our CL chances. That's worth the money.

I seem to recall some reports after Real signed him that they'd made much of the money back through merchandise. If so, it applies again...

Didn't you hear? They decided that in calling it the Ballon D'Or, they're renaming it the Messi vs Ronaldo award, in doing so restricts any player other than those two to win it. This was trying to be tied in with Platini's desire to have an El Classico CL final, that is still in the pipeline though.

After hitting submit reply, my first reaction was to leave the room and let the Ronaldo vs Messi debate continue again for another 100 pages. Hopefully it will go unnoticed...

You guys knows best right? All the others are hopeless for suggesting that Ronaldo would be a great addition for United.

Riberys been bloody brilliant this year but would you agree that he doesn't score enough, especially to enough to be truly considered for the ballon dor in this age? His stats this year don't come close to even Ronaldo of 06/07, never mind 07/08 or Messi after that.

Was he feck.. He scored scored in 5 out of 6 CL knockout games, they'd have been knocked out in both the last 16 and quarter finals without his contribution.

No way Ronaldo is winning the Ballon d'Or this season. Messi won a major trophy, being the topscorer in that competition, ended up with the Golden Shoe again (some distance ahead of Ronaldo, not even counting the minutes played), lost in the CL when he was injured vs fully fit Ronaldo who will end the year with 0 trophies (since no Super Cup or World Club Cup either)... No chance IMO.

The only real argument you could make would be for one of Bayern's players, but the problem lies in picking one.

Much easier call than 2012 and 2010 IMO..

He would practically guarantee us the next 4 Premier League titles and make us one of the favourites for the Champions League. Him being a prima donna wouldn't matter a single bit.

Think what he would have guaranteed had he never left. In the three years before he left, Ronaldo and United won three titles and reached two CL finals. Since he left we've only been back to the final once, and he's not been at all, and we've won just the two titles and he's merely had the one. Just imagine what could have been achieved had he stayed.

I don't get why so many of our fans have his cock so firmly planted in their throats. Why isn't everyone else pissed off at him for his incredibly short-sighted, stupid, and selfish decision to abandon us for the bright lights of Madrid? We had a truly great team, potentially one of the best of all time, and he killed it...and for what?

Of course we do not want a 28 year old player who scores an average of 1 goal each game....

I don't care if he is a primadonna - you can afford a prima donna who scores a goal a game. And if he was such a problem - how come we won so much with him in the team ?

Of course we can manage nicely without Ronaldo - but he would make ANY team in the world stronger

Would you buy Ronaldo for 80 million pounds?

We'd be better with Ronaldo without a doubt. He's an incredible athlete so being 28 is not an issue, we'd get at the very least 5 seasons out of him IMO.

Ribery has looked very good the times I've seen him this year, but Ronaldo has scored 55 goals in 55 games. It's not his fault the Real Madrid circus ruined their season.

He wouldn't cost that much. Two years left on his contract, by Christmas his price will be plummeting. They need to tie him down or sell.

It's the same reason United wont get more than £25 million for Rooney if he goes, in my opinion at least.
