Cristiano Ronaldo

The papers individually say everything is a done deal a long time before it is.

Iirc, he called the RvP one at a time when the odds were at either 4-1 or 5-1, so the papers mustn't have been that certain. He is friends with Danny Welbeck and he told everyone as soon as he got a text from him saying he's agreed to his new contract and he's been told we're signing RvP.

Even if this is true, how would he know Ronaldo was on his way to Chelsea? Did Ronaldo text Danny Welbeck? How does knowing a few United players make him the gospel on all things football?

If he really knew anything for sure he'd be piling as much cash on it as he could and trying to keep it to himself. The fact that he's plastering stuff all over twitter tells you a little bit about his motivation in my book - attention seeker.

He apparently put 14k on RvP coming, that is certainty. £450 doesn't sound like much certainty from this guy. Still think it's a ploy to uneven the United odds, and he's not put a lot on it without saying anything.

Exactly!! An apparent risk free chance to triple his money - he'd have put far more than 3 £150 bets on...

Some of the biggers sports news agencies (The Guardian, Yahoo Sports, ESPN, and a few others) actually started reporting this rumour back the end of March/beginning of April. So nothing new in this latest rumour.

Actually as soon as the Jose back to Chelsea story picked up steam (back around the time Rafa came in as Interim) rumours started about Ronaldo following him to Chelsea.

does any one else think his clothing brand cr7 might mean chelsea ronaldo 7th july? it's all a bit too coincidental for my money.

So Ronaldo says he wants to stay at Madrid and noone believes it.

But some random Twitter dude says he's going to Chelsea and all sorts of theories come out.

Pitchforks at the ready.

I can't think of any reason why Ronaldo would want to leave Real Madrid for Chelsea. Or United, for that matter.

Can't really see why Mourinho would want to go to Chelsea either. Neither of them seem like people who like to go backwards.

That said, the Mourinho move seems to be regarded as quite likely. Decent team to inherit I suppose, fairly fɑpworthy forward line.

To suggest someone so media and brand savvy like Ronnie - who will be looking to maximize any future deals with the various revenue generating machines connected with him - would be so foolish as to divulge his intentions in front of a no name “ordinary bloke” like that Johnston fella - No chance!

Out of spite obviously. Hectic banned Ronnie from the Caf, and he wants to cause the redcafe servers to die from the meltdown it will cause when he joins Chelsea.

Ronnie hates redcafe.

There were also rumours about them both going to PSG, about the same time you specified.

If he does go to Chelsea thats the title for them, without a doubt.

Mourinho and Ronaldo to Chelsea, Moyes and Leon Osman to United. ;)

No chance in hell of Ronaldo coming to Chelsea. I'm fairly sure he'll be at Madrid next season.

Rooney's is a different situation. He's done the whole transfer request saga before and now, with Fergie gone he may feel it's time for him to leave. I actually wouldn't be surprised to find out he's pushing for CFC move, but I don't really want him at Chelsea, especially at the prices quoted by caftards.

Ummm, since when have transfer fees started to matter for you lot?

If someone had said in 2008 that in 5 years RVP would be a Manchester United player, Tevez a City player, Rooney & Ronaldo Chelsea players, and Moyes the new manager of United...you'd have been sectioned!

I thought Ronnie is pissed off that Mou indirectly said it's his fault that Real didn't have a shot at the league this year?

If he said that, then why the feck would Ronaldo want to go to Chelsea with him? Have you got an article where he says something along those lines then?

That's what the Daily Mail wrote last week.

Mourinho had pointed the finger at Ronaldo last week when he said the league had been lost in the earlier stages of the season because the team began the campaign ‘sad’. It was a reference to Ronaldo’s use of the same word in a public show of discontent in September after a game against Granada. Ronaldo had told reporters he was sad when asked why he had not celebrated scoring in the match.

But Jose has been effusive in his praise for Cristiano since the whole sad thing. Particularly around the Ballon D'Or and the games against us. I think he's just trying to burn every single bridge in the hope that Madrid terminate his contract.

Guy called shadowcat wanted me to post this here:

I cant post in the ronaldo thread since im new but was hoping you could post something for me?

According to his wiki page there is a 1 billion euros buy out clause in his contract.

thanks a lot if you do

Aside from the goal he's been very poor tonight. The sort of performance which gets 'target' players like Rooney slaughtered by their own fans, even considering the goal.

Madrid surely will hand him a massive contract. A Ronaldo-less Madrid vs Barca with Messi wouldn't be much of a contest.

Pure petulance and was a walking red card all night. Probably some sort of statement to the board or something and he wanted to get sent off.
