We say that every time Madrid get knocked out of the Champions League.

well one league win in 4 years while we won 2 in the same time frame and made it to 1 more CL final.

With that being said I wouldn't go for Ronaldo at this age. He'll be 29 next season, that is something that usually Real do, not United.

he's accomplished the same as us in the champions league, feck all.

We won 2 titles since he left, but domestic titles don't win you individual trophies.

Well, we have reached 1 final more than them in that period and with him in side had reached back to back CL finals before he left.

So would have done even better with him in the side. And he did leave WPOTY here.

we still love him, and miss him, and will forgive him leaving us and scoring against us

we are like those wifes that were left by their husbands for a younger girl, but are willing to forgive him and get him back if he wants to return :(

Fair play to Ronaldo for wanting to go to his boyhood club, but perhaps he will realise that they have never been able to give him what United did when it comes to silverwear, including the CL Trophy.

He left the ugly, more loyal lady for a hot girl with huge tits but sadly the hot girl aged fast due to the fact that she got a virus and now we are still young and full of lust and love but it might be too late for him because we're a little broke.

Messi was the best player in the world the time he left.

We would have definitely won more domestic titles, but I can't say that we would have won more CL titles had he been here. It's not like we needed a little extra to push us over the line, at times in Europe we've been diabolical. Having Ronaldo here wouldn't cover the fact that out midfield has been average for a while.

And domestic titles don't matter when comparing across countries. You think Lyon were any more appealing during the time they won 7 titles in a row?

I think we could've won the year after he left. We were strong enough to beat Inter that year.

He was piss poor tonight. He had a bit of a heavy first touch.

Thank God we don't sign players turning 29. It would end in disaster.

It is frightening how accurate this is

Cristiano Ronaldo on Jose Mourinho: "Mourinho? I don't care about him. I only care about Real Madrid and me."

not for 60-70m. Quality on the cheap like Van Persie don't come very often. Unless you think Ronaldo can go for 30m this year.

No, but then he's worth more than Van Persie. You don't know what the price will be so it can't really be said if it's worth signing him because of his age.

This season he has:

57 games - 54 goals - 15 assists

That includes 31/31 in La Liga, 6/6 in the Spanish Cup, and 12/12 in the CL

Wow

Messi was the best player in the world the time he left.

Nah when he left he was reigning WPOTY. Messi then won it in December.

We would have definitely won more domestic titles, but I can't say that we would have won more CL titles had he been here. Only last season, really ? When else have we been diabolical ?

And even last season his goals would have carried us through the group stages. Then it becomes a different matter altogether usually.

With all due respect to the French League, winning a title in Spain or England matters more in terms of global recognition. That's why top players move to these leagues to test themselves out more than moving to other leagues.

Seems the exact quote is :

" I do not care whether Mourinho will stay or not. What interests me is Real Madrid and me "

On second thought, you're right about 09/10. We may have scored more goals againt Bayern if he was in form.

Yep. We've generally done better than Madrid except last season without him anyways, so would have certainly done better than them with him which was the point. How many titles we could have won or not is all conjecture and is impossible to tell anyway.

:lol: feck sake. I laughed so hard in the office, my boss had to ask what's going on.

Back to Ronaldo, he was largely ineffective on the two games. Dortmund did a good job on marking him out.

Does he worth 80m? well, If I were the moneyman for City or Chelsea, he's worth that kind of money. He still has maybe about 3 peak years, he's familiar with the league and will hit the ground immediately, and also the prestige he'll bring to the club.

Talk about twisting the original quote. Posts early after the game suggested something completely different.

I'd like to see Ronaldo come home. Even though I have never met the man, I have little doubt he'd love to come home.

We can do some serious damage in the prem, possibly going undefeated, with the addition of Ronaldo. But the prem is child's play for us. The real prize is the CL and with Ronaldo we're suddenly a serious contender for that greatest of all club competitions. We would need a bit of luck on the physio room front to actually go the distance, but at least we'd be in the hunt.

Speculation intensified in England on Tuesday over the forward’s potential return to Old Trafford, with the Sun reporting details of a bid.

Oh dear.
