Fergie will be happy enough to leave with a Double.

This guy is straight up, no bullshitter, but even still I was like, yeah ok.

That said, I can quite see it all happening. If Fergie doesnt step aside this season, Mourinho will go to PSG, take Ronaldo with him and Utd will lose both of the guys that I presume they want to take us forward.

Take this with a pinch of salt, I did:

My brothers mate is doing work experience at some posh golf club, he met Harry Redknapp there the other day, he gave him some horse racing tips for today, which Harry owns/part owns, aswell as saying that its a done deal that Ronaldo and Mourinho will be at Utd next season...

The stars do seem to align to that conclusion. On the other hand, we could all be guilty of confusing astrology with a genuine science.

Did Harry wind down the window of his golf cart? :D

Apologies. Sarcasm run amok.

I've been the leading proponent of the "Ronaldo will return to Old Trafford" theory for the last few months, only to be mercilessly ridiculed for even suggesting the possibility.

It's on, my friends. Tony better start looking around for another squad number.

Sorry mate didn't realise, don't ever venture into this thread so thought you were being serious. Don't worry, certain posters didnt see my blatantly obvious sarcasm a page back and posted silly replies.

I hope he comes back just so we don't have to see Valencia in that #7 jersey anymore.

Imagine what it will do to his confidence though taking away his shirt number, he might lose form...

"To dream the impossible dream!"

Would be brilliant to have him back, but I would be shocked if he did return.

Putting aside the lack of it's likelihood, what if it was only possible if Rooney moved in the opposite direction?

Goes to show how easy life is for football correspondents, doesnt it.

Watch out for the next unmissable article in the series, "players who will not be coming to Manchester United," tomorrow's installment will be Neymar.

I foresee that replies to this will revolve around the fact that Charlton wouldn't say that we were discussing bringing him back. We rarely do talk about transfers, and for something like that we definitely wouldn't mention it.

Yep, regardless of how unlikely it is anyway, we still would never express in public that we are trying for the deal or that it's being discussed, it would be beyond stupid negotiation wise. If anything, this is what you might expect to hear if we were interested. So in that sense, its on yeah?

Also Sir Bobby in that article looks the same colour as that weird mutant played by Elijah Wood in Sin City.

CR7 asked if he is now happy at Real... and doesn't reply

Madrid star Cristiano Ronaldo collected the 'Trofeo Di Stéfano' for La Liga's best player, and failed to respond to questions about his happiness at Real.

On Monday, Real Madrid star Cristiano Ronaldo was presented with the 'Trofeo Di Stéfano'. Named after Madrid legend Alfredo Di Stéfano, the prize is awarded by Spanish sports newspaper 'Marca' for the best player in La Liga. The Portuguese international received the award as the league's top performer during season 2011-12.

As he collected the award from Di Stéfano himself, the Portuguese international was asked if he is now happy at the Santiago Bernabéu - in September, he had told the press that he felt "sad" in the Spanish capital - and an awkward silence followed as Cristiano failed to offer a response to the question.

The uncomfortable situation was only alleviated when CR7 was asked about the team's prospects for the season. He replied: "There's still a long way to go, but we're in the final of the Copa del Rey and we have taken a big step forwards in the Champions League. It'll be difficult to win La Liga, but we have to fight until the very end."

He added: "I hope that we achieve our goal for the season, which is to win an important piece of silverware."

Take from this what you will, but he couldn't even answer Di Stéfano... I predict a summer full of speculation and "Only God knows..."

I assume this is it. That was so awkward

I don't speak Spanish but the awkward moment is pretty obvious. I wonder if it really is an attempt to get a better contract or if he's genuinely unhappy. He's not giving anything away that's for sure.

Ah jaysus I've never been one for listening to transfer speculation. If a player isn't with us I have no interest until he actually signs. Even this Summer with RVP I had no interest in reading anything about it until the official announcement.

But, I'm embarassed to say, all this bullshit Ronaldo talk has me slightly excited

Portugal are under-achievers. With the midfield and attack (to an extent, I'm not sure if they have a decent out-and-out goalscorer up front). Played Postiga up front today I see. Very good midfield in Veloso, Moutinho and Meireles, and they're defence isn't too shabby as well considering it as two Madrid defenders in there as well as Bruno Alves.

Good individuals - bad as a team.

according to the argie papers -all of them pro messi- ronaldo had an uneventful game against israel and portugal's qualification for brazil 2014 is in danger

He didn't do much apart from one nice run to set up the second goal. Portugal were awful though.

Bruno Alves is fecking terrible

Ronaldo coming back to us would be like being married to four Victorias Secrets models, who insist all 5 of you sleep in the same bed.

Gad damn. We might be on course for another treble this season, if he were still here :(.

Not many have said Madrid WANT to sell him. It's more down that Ronaldo may want to leave. Of course Madrid can just say no, but he could quite easily leave on a free if he wanted to in 2 seasons time.

Was a great hit for the second goal. If he wins the CL this year he might have a shot at the Ballon d'Or this time.

But he's not coming back..
