Cristiano Ronaldo

Why does Ronaldo not get love from the Madrid fans, btw? I've heard of this a number of times and I find it incredibly strange. The guy a phenomenal player, they are lucky to have him. Yet you get this feeling that he's constantly trying to please them.

Because Madrid fans are spoil twats. I say this from first hand experience of many. Some odd good eggs there but largely they are not what I would call "supporters".

The financials in this are on an entirely different level though.
Yeah. Only small chance he comes back to us is if he is a free agent and we won't pay any big fee to get him. Then we can instead use that to match his wage demand or give him a big singing fee

Amazing when you can't appreciate a player of that quality playing for your club.

If he really wanted to join us we could make it happen. Start acting out, run down your contract, make it clear you only want to join United and accept a pay cut. Would be naive to expect that sort of loyalty from him though and he'll most likely go to the highest bidder if he was to leave. Maybe PSG.

irina's twitter from yesterday tweeted how she loves paris :(

Who is irina?

Ronaldo's girlfriend

I've always found it bizarre how much the Spanish media invest in this kind of thing. Ballague was full of it for years - most of it unfettered bollocks. It's reminiscent of magazines like Heat analysing body language in celeb photos and using pop psychology to infer all sorts of fantastic conclusions.

We do exactly the same in the UK.

I don't think he'll go to PSG, if he does go. He doesn't seem the type who goes after money, rather the desire to compete and be the best. It would make no sense for him to go to the french league.

SAF has stated before that the only player he'd spend that type of money on is Cristiano Ronaldo.

If SAF knew Ronaldo was looking out and was available, he'd be on a plane to Madrid to bring him back.

Yeah they're and that's why I think no club will be able to afford him. I mean City didn't buy Hazard, RVP, Martinez etc despite all of them being available and half of the people on there were convinced that City will sign a superstar.

For Ronaldo at least 80m fee and the wages of more than 350k, makes it an amazingly expensive package. Also he'll be 28 next season.

Still think it's a contract negotiation ploy, he is still on the contract on which he signed for Madrid and with the way he performs he'll need a raise.

He's on a contract where each year his salary goes up by a certain %, iirc he'll be earning 500k per week in the last year of his contract. So I don't think it's a contact negotiation ploy by any means.

I just hope they sort it out and he doesn't leave, as it's been mentioned before, only the sugar daddy backed clubs will be in contention.

Can someone tell me why the hell him coming back is even a talking point?

Because if he doesn't come back to us, his other two obvious choices are City and Chelsea. And that would be the biggest blow to our title hopes imaginable (unless you can imagine Messi ever playing in the Prem before he's past his best).

We might not be able to afford him, he might not want to come back, but that will be why it's being discussed.

I really can't see him going to another club in England, if he leaves it will be for PSG.

get it clear that if he does leave madrid it will be for the club that pays him the most money and the highest transfer fee.

He could easily end up at City, dont be fooled by the fact he played for United.
He will go where he gets paid the most, simple as that.

I can't see how we would be able to afford to bring him back anytime soon as much as I'd want that to happen. Although I'm also not worried at all about him potentialy joining City/Chelsea as that won't happen, pretty sure he wouldn't do that to us.

I mean whats actually happened to make it a talking point?

"I am sad and the club knows it, that's why I didn't celebrate the goals. The people in the club know why."

And he still scores two goals in a game when he's unhappy.

Depressingly true.

Because I just informed you of something that is pretty much common sense, that you or I for that matter, don't have the first clue about how Cristiano Ronaldo thinks

riiiiiiiiiiight :wenger:

you still havent answered the question?

Again, are you telling me that if city or chelsea offered him 350k a week or something that he would say no because of his links to United in the past?

or lets make it easier for you flower, if he does say he wants to leave madrid, and the best fee offer and wage pack is from city or chelsea, that he would say no beacuse he used to play for United?

Whats so hard about that? Without assumptions that you or I know him personally?

Why would he not go to the place that offers him the most ?

Yes I did.

Here's the answer again: I have no idea. You have no idea.

P.S I deleted your bizarre reference to me as "flower" as I'm guessing the mods deleted those last few posts due to stuff like that from yourself. I have no idea why you're so worked up, what I have posted is common sense, none of us know the man or the way he thinks.

Well, he wouldn't be the first.

RvP could've made more elsewhere.

So could Berbatov when he moved to us.

Lots of top players have taken pay cuts when moving clubs (Torres to Liverpool IIRC) or accepted lesser terms than being offered at other clubs.

The issue is whether Ronaldo's ego could tolerate it. But it's hardly unprecedented, and a whole host of factors play their part.

For instance, worldwide exposure probably appeals to Ronaldo, and he'd only really get that at United. City are a tiny club in the grand scheme of things. That won't play to his ego.

Imagine if he went to Barca....

He'll stay in Madrid though.

Not everyone is money obsessed, especially when you have enough money to last a normal person a whole lot of lifetimes.....
