Where did Ibrahimovic's children go to school last season?
Ibrah's family move with him every time he changes clubs. Ronaldo"s mother has looked after his son since he was born and they have never left Spain. She doesn't like Manchester and was desperate for him to leave. Can't see her being happy to move back here just because Ronnie's had a tantrum.

Yes, Ronaldo is already declining. I have seen him miss chances the last couple of years that he would 100% bury before. He did strike a good form at the end of the year though. But can he do it at United with service (or lack of service) from Valencia, Lingard and Martial?

And, yes, he will win the player of the year this year. But you do realize it gets much harder to do it each year. The decline at the very top level is not linear, because a quarter second makes all the difference between top 3 in the world and top 100.
At this moment in time, in 2017, how many active players are better than Ronaldo?

Push him out!!
Push him out!!
Push him out!!

Don't spam this thread Cal.

The fact that Real Madrid will recieve a lot of money for him and that the money will fund a few top transfers for them should mean absolutely nothing imo. We aren't competing with them these days. We have to get back to the top. It's obviously easier said than done since there are currently five teams better than us in England. I don't understand how some here take into account that we're potentially doing RM a favour in buying him. Like I said, there are five teams better than us only in England, none of which are on the level of RM. They aren't a competitor right now. Which is why we should buy Ronaldo if we can affort him. He'd undoubtedly make a significant improvement on us and we'd compete for the title. His wages would be roughly the same as Rooney's and Zlatan's combined wouldn't it? That should be manageable.

Imagine the shirt sales and the merchandise related benefits to this. That'd definitely cover some of the expenses. Not to mention we would be buying arguably the best player in the world and someone who has at least 2-3 seasons left at top level.

There has been a gap ever since Frogie left. We've spent hundreds of millions trying to fill it without success. The best player in the world seems to be the only short term solution.

Yes he's 32
Yes he's declining (although slow decline)

But people forget that 100m is the price of 32 years old ronaldo. A 27 years old ronaldo would cost 200m today.

So please take those into consideration.

A bit too steep? Worry about whether or not he can maintain his fitness? Etc. That's another debate, but let's not fool ourselves that he's not worth that 100m

I still want him back, He could very well win us the league with his goals alone.

Zlatan was 35 (albeit free) and proved everyone wrong, Ronaldo is younger, fitter, more athletic and a very smart player.

Guaranteed 30 goal haul for me.

Hope we don't spend the whole summer chasing an elusive galactico while turning a blind eye to the other positions that need strengthening. Get the easier transfers secured first.

This.

He is the best marksman alive at the moment. If anyone is better, it's Lionel Messi and that's nothing to be ashamed about.

Who knows. With 200 millions, he just might
I agree with your opinion on Dembelé or Dybala but I am not too excited with Neymar anymore. Neymar fully committed would be amazing but I can't see It happening and besides I believe that he is culé(with or without commissions to his father).
I think that with his attitude is a bigger risk than Mbappé.
About Cris and the public opinion, you know that can change in 5 minutes, its a bit a question of pride.
I am not sure about his strategy, using intermediaries although I think that is genuinely upset.
In my opinion he is going to stay, he has a project with 3C.L in 4 years and Messi balon d'or records a stone's throw away.

But they won't be taking you up the arse...they won't require one penny from you.

Quite why fans - United fans in particular - give two shits about what the club spends from it's annual revenue of 550million is, and always will be beyond, logic.

You get fans giving out that we have to pay 40million on interest rates a year, but when the alternative is to buy players to strengthen the squad, they still moan.

It's mainly the club's business image. Once other clubs sniff out that you are willing to pay above market rate in your transfer fees, the rest will queue up to fleece you dry. Perisic will go up to about £60million, Real will then be trying their luck with £100 million for Morata etc Clubs will play hardball to the very end.

The well is deep, but it isn't neverending. If we overspend continually, season ticket prices go up. And that's outta the fans pocket. I don't get this 'It's not my money' Argument. Yes. Yes it is. Every ticket you buy, every merchandise you buy, every MUTV subscription you get, it all goes up in price if the club needs money.

Whats with all this sudden 'he's declining' talk?, did he have a bad game for Portugal or something?

Yeah I don't really see him leaving because of something as petty as accusations of tax fraud. It's not RM who are accusing him. I have a feeling that this saga is blown out of proportions because of the interest it generates.

"RONALDO DEAL OFF BECAUSE HIS MAM WONT LET HIM PLAY FOOTY WITH HIS MATES"

He is in a way. His game is completely different now to the player that left. He's not as quick as he once was and is more about power, movement and being ruthless in front of goal. The dribbling and athleticism isn't what it once was.

He's been like that for a few seasons now, he's changed his game into a goal machine. Thats not really declining, he's just changed his game.

Isnt that better though because as you age your speed does decrease and you must be smart enough to improve other areas of your game to compensate for it. And according to you he has. Also his athleticism isnt what it was is just koo-koo talk.

It's definitely important not to get bogged down in this obvious fiasco. If we spend all summer chasing Ronaldo, we risk missing out on realistic targets.

I can't imagine we'd be able to afford many other players if we think we're buying him, so we'd presumably have to put a few other potential signings on the shelf to 'buy Ronaldo', and when he signs his new contract it'll be too late to get the guys we wanted.

Anyone else feel like this deal is just definitely not about to happen? The reasons he cites for leaving are too unconvincing.

Think he had some links when Giggs, Neville et al were at the club.

Yeah he did, I think it was some of the staff he'd known a long while who would give him some access. Even with that he's a painfully average journalist. It's like the opposite of Ronay who people were moaning is too flowery. Mitten just witters on about stuff everyone already knows.

"Come back to Old Trafford by all means Cristiano. You’re still adored and would be welcomed with open arms, but don’t spend the close season extracting the urine out of the club and fans who treated you so well on your way to the top."

Pretty much the feeling here too.

Yeah I agree. Nevertheless, I thought I'd post it for anyone that want to read it.

Sure, sorry I wasn't knocking you for posting it. Just a nothing moan about Mitten.

United should focus in the original transfer plan (unless this is something thought months ago).

So Perez is going to address it in an hour?

The fascination with age bemuses me. It was the same with Zlatan before he came, as if all players age at the same rate and can't possibly be any good once they reach their mid thirties.

Ronaldo's physicality is on another level to most players. He's like he anti-Rooney, I could easily see him playing into his late thirties albeit in an adapted role. It's not like he's the kind of player to be running from box to box for 90 minutes either, he knows how to conserve his energy.

Not that I think he's coming, but it's still a point worth making.
Let's be honest though, at some of the prices mentioned it would be a horrible deal for you. 175m + DDG  Christ..

Florentino would laugh all the way moonwalking to the bank.

It's alright mate. I don't even follow him, I just seen it retweeted by someone so I thought feck it. I actually expected there to be criticism regarding his article.

I find Andy Mitten a painfully boring journalist. He has zero insight.

Most of them are. You can tell that with the Ronaldo story a vast majority of them know feck all but are still under pressure to produce articles and columns for their respective rags, which causing the lobotomized sheep (transfer muppets) to discuss increasingly frivolous strands of a story we know little about.
