Cristiano Ronaldo | Transfer Speculation

I agree with you those are the best options but who's going to put the ball in the back of the net?

You can't win anything big with Benzema as your biggest goal source... As soon as Ronaldo goes, Benzema in Madrid will stop making any sense. And as much as I rate Mbappé, he's too young to really lead the line. If Ronaldo goes, Real Madrid fans will have a bigger problem than they're realizing. I'm sure Perez won't risk it and he'll do everything he can to keep Cristiano though.
Bale, Morata, Neymar/Mbappé, Dybala, we can also sign Aubameyang...scoring shouldn't be an issue

I kinda agree with you about Benzema, if Cris goes, he should probably follow. He scored 28 in 36 goals last season though, mind. There's a chance he could be a viable alternative as a primary goalscorer

Perez will not do whatever it takes to keep him now. Public opinion in Spain has already taken a side, and it's overwhelmingly against the player. If Flo caves in, the first game at the bernabeu will be.....interesting...for both of them

would he stay if Madrid pays his taxes?

If we get Ronaldo back then he might have played his last game at the Bernabeu.

:lol::lol::lol:

Kind of my reaction to the whole "saga". Amazing how people buy this sh*te every single summer.
Head to the Morata thread (that one has me genuinely worried now). Hope we land the fecker. Need a goalscorer...and it's not going to be Cris.

If Ronaldo leaves RM, there's no reason for them to keep Benzema. They'd play Asensio, Mbappe, Isco and Bale. They might even shift to a regular 4231. Their entire team is built around Ronaldo. Given Zidane's love for crossing-game, he'd need a good right-footed right-winger to complement Asensio. It'd be interesting to see them plunge into the market and panic for once.

If he was out of contract and available for 2 years on high wages, that would be one thing. Breaking the world transfer record for a 32 year old would be nuts.

That 32 years old is the Ballon D'Or winner who will win it again next season. Age is irrelevant.

I think 2 years max where we can expect at least 30 goals from him.. then it will start to go down to 20 goals, 10 goals, then elite bench player every year after that.

I was thinking about this earlier. If we signed him this summer and we were his retirement home... 150 goals maybe?

Oooooh wonder who the intermediary was...? Wouldn't happen to have been someone from Real Madrid?:D

For what it's worth, I agree with the posters here that believe Perez isn't averse to selling Ronnie (who I'm sure will be staying), don't think Zidane would be pleased, but suspect Perez wouldn't mind cashing in.....
Yeah that's what I feel.

That would be very important if it is true. However, given your history of shit posts about Ronaldo, I wouldn't trust your view on the public opinion in Spain. Surely, people are not happy about the alleged tax fraud but would they prefer Madrid to play without Ronaldo next season? I'm not sure about that.

The 'we sold him for 80 MP, so we shouldn't pay more than that' argument is BS.

We sold a 1 time Ballon D'or, 1 time UCL winner, with a promise that we would let him go.

We would be trying to buy a 5 time Ballon D'or, 4 time UCL winner with a huge contract just signed and leaving over an issue which is most likely his own fault and nothing to do with Madrid.

With any other player, age would have matter. With him, you know it wouldn't.

Madrid are well within their rights to demand 150 MP. If anything, we were stupid to let him go for 80 MP.
You are forgetting the most important factor, AGE. Do you think he will win more Ballon D'or and UCL with us?

Online polls(which, short of going house to house to ask are usually a good indicator) are split around 80/20 against the player. Tax fraud is not something people take lightly, especially when it's a millionaire...

That's Florentino Perez speaking

I think there is no question that everybody wants him here. It's just how much you're willing to let Real Madrid take you up the arse in order to get him.

But they won't be taking you up the arse...they won't require one penny from you.

Quite why fans - United fans in particular - give two shits about what the club spends from it's annual revenue of 550million is, and always will be beyond, logic.

You get fans giving out that we have to pay 40million on interest rates a year, but when the alternative is to buy players to strengthen the squad, they still moan.

I know there is speculation every summer but has it been this strong and this long before? Like we have three to four days of solid rumors linking him with us.

You are forgetting the most important factor, AGE. Do you think he will win more Ballon D'or and UCL with us?

The player has talked about playing until his late 30's maybe even 40 and who would doubt that? People talk about a decline but Ronaldo will be a top player for many years to come. He might will a Ballon D'or but then there is a bias 9/10 against English clubs. A UCL would be possible but I doubt it would be this season (if he signed).

That said the opportunity to be top goalscorer at United and Madrid? That would be a record never beaten. It's not beyond someone like him. If he's that same selfish player that has 6/7 shots on goal per game - then it's not beyond him and that would be sensational. FAR bigger then winning a CL with PSG for example. Far bigger.

I don't know. Neither do you or anyone else in the world. What everyone does know as a matter of FACT is, he has maintained his body greatly and has won the last 2 UCLs while being the best player and the last 2 Ballon Dor. That is his present status.

That is a good enough argument for Madrid to make and tell us to feck off if their demands not met. Its a win-win for them.

Tells the player we will let you go if you can find a club that is willing to pay what we think you are worth. If no one pays, they still has the best player around.

The ball shall always be in Madrid's court in a transfer like this. Might be tough for some fans to digest considering our relation with the player and our bank balance, but in this transfer, if it goes through, we will end up looking mugged.

Maybe the discontent arises from the fans being angry about him apparently wanting to leave, and no statement from ronaldo saying he wants to stay.
For a group of fans who whistle him when he isn't scoring 3 goals a game, that could be a really big deal, especially with Mbappe/Dembele on the cards, afterall what is the average career length of a galactico, 5-6 years?

Yeah but people said that when Madrid bought Bale and when we paid what we did for Pogba. People soon forget once they step on the pitch.

That is true. You pull off a Pogba and CR in 2 consecutive seasons with 90 and 150 MP, rest assured, you will be mugged for the next decade. Sure, we have the resources, but being rich doesn't mean you throw it around for fun.

He would need to average 25 goals for 7 seasons. The chances of that happening are extremely unlikely especially considering he's going to less effective with every passing year, and also that it's much easier to score goals in a Real Madrid side and La Liga, than this current United side in EPL.
