Cristiano Ronaldo | Transfer Speculation

Just a hypothetical question but if Ronaldo gets back, will he be able to become our all time top scorer? He needs close to 150 goals and he is already 32.
No. At 32, how much longer does he have left? 3 years? 4? 5? 3 years would require an average of 50 goals per season. 4 would require 38. 5 would require 30.
I mean, he shows no sign of slowing down but it will happen at some point.

Would take him back any day, but I do wonder if he is just doing what Ramos did a couple of years ago, claiming he is unsettled and wants to leave to get a new contract with more money.
Think he had a fair few fall outs with Mourinho at RM don't know if that will have any bearing on a possible return.

Ronaldo must have fond enough memories of Manchester off-the-field to even be entertaining the idea of relocating himself, his family and leaving behind Madrid-life to play for us again.

As much as I want him to return, we're his past, no?

Jose is nothing if not pragmatic, I'm sure he'd be back to "Cristiano is the best player ever" mode.

Well I would look at the tactics versus rivals, with more confidence in his attacking players perhaps Jose would have taken a different approach. Regarding the general lack of chances, look at the following games:

Swansea, Bournmouth, Hull, Stoke, West Ham, Burnley, Everton, Arsenal - all draw where we had many more chances than the opposition. Obviously looking at best case scenario but Ronaldo would have single handedly turned the majority of those in to victories.

Yes but winning those games wouldnt win us the title. Also like I said an injury to Pogba and our midfield isnt creating much for Ronaldo. I think people are underestimating the roles of Modric Kroos Marcelo etc in giving Ronaldo the platform to fire them to trophies.

He'd make a big impact but if he scores 30 goals and the rest of the players score as they did this season we aint winning the title.

Adding him would be great but we better add another midfielder and also another attacker too

It's all a decoy and judging by people on this place, it's working. Di Marzio is only reporting what Mendes has told him and wants him to report, remember that.

People have forgotten about his tax dodging pretty quickly, wonder why...

Why us everone saying this??? Manchester is not his home, never was, never will be, we were just stepping stone to RM.
Manchester United is where he established himself, he talks about his love for the club, fans and SAF. He left on good terms and even after he joined Madrid he continuously talks about missing Manchester. Also in future please speak English.

Cristiano hasn't failed to score 40 goals in a season for the last seven years!

Think of all the easy chances we missed last season, our pathetic 18th worst conversion rate, and tell me Ronaldo doesn't fix all the reasons we finished 6th.

Not all those chances would fall to Ronaldo. We'd still have Lingard, Martial, Rashford and Mkhitaryan missing chances. But obviously Ronaldo would improve our attack significantly.

I don't think the Morata and Aubameyang deals would've gone quiet if United and PSG weren't truly interested in Ronaldo.

Get it done Ed.

Who actually thinks this is true and he's off this summer? just curious like, because I have some wicked magic beans in my pocket and need to know who to target..

No, but seriously, if he messes up our summer yet again and we miss out on realistic targets Morata i'm going to hate him forever.

What is Ronaldo's plan?
Google Ronaldo... what are the top news stories that pop up? Guarentee you it's nothing to do with him being outed as a tax dodger. He's getting publicity, a smokescreen and probably a nice bonus from RM at the end of this.

He has shown countless times in the past that he isn't afraid to use our clubs for personal gain.

Still fully expect him to be at Real Madrid next season.

So his masterplan is to get more hist on google?

So I know di Marzio is seen as one of the most reliable sources out there, but sorry for asking....why??? Is he right most of the time or what?
He has been the most accurate of all journalists that get posted here. Only Duncan Castles is more reliable when it comes to United I think, mainly because of his shiny cueball head being firmly placed all the way up Jose's arsehole.

How original

Ronaldo in a United shirt again would be like eating out of a bin for 4 years and then getting an all you can eat voucher at Nandos. Bring him home.

He is amongst the fittest footballers that have ever played the sport, he's an icon of fitness. If anyone can prolong their career into their 40's, it's him. The only thing I could see stopping him is his desire in a few years time.

Who has forgot about it? If anything this has brought it into the public eye. This would be the shittest PR ploy in history if he wanted to take attention away from his tax troubles.

I think its true but that real madrid wont end up letting him go and he'll just get over his problems. Its obviously not fake with everyone reporting it, doesnt mean anything will happen though.

No, it's to ensure that the most talked about football story this Summer isn't about him not paying 14 million euros in taxes.
Christ. I feel like the Grinch, logic goes out of the window on here when Ronaldo is mentioned.
The reason he wants to leave is because of this tax shit, so what he has done has ensured it is the most talked about story. feck me mate.

This is all a strop due to Ronaldo wanting help with his tax case. If he were to leave RM this summer, his tax case gets more complicated, and he could get a prison term greater than 24 months.
He needs Real Madrid now much more than they need him.

We need to draw a line under all this Ronaldo speculation and move on to real targets.

Don't worry, I doubt Ed is putting everything on hold. If Ronaldo is possible he'll obviously go hard, but it is possible to do several things at once :p

He wants to leave because he forgot to pay the tax man and Madrid forgot to sort him out a Twitter campaign? #WeAreallRonaldo.

He's making himself out to look the victim. After a 'phone call from Zidane begging him to stay' and payment from RM he will come out of this looking squeaky clean in white next season.

Will you muppets promise me that we don't do this again next year when this inevitably doesn't happen.
We've got other targets to secure than waste our time on Ronaldo. Woodward and co probably know better how likely it is to happen, but I wouldnt put a dollar on it. We cant fail to secure other class forwards in pursuit of this dream.
