£130m is a bargain when the likes of Lukaku is on the market for £100m.

I have to say, misgivings aside, a Ronaldo signing would make me immensely excited about the upcoming season. Still feel you can't get too invested in sagas, though.

I think firstly that if Ronaldo is serious? Then I would assume we're 'watching' a drama play out that's already been decided. It's such a big deal. Would Madrid want to be seen selling Ronaldo to buy Mbappe? Probably not. I don't know. Even though he don't like the weather etc, you have to think that at 32 he's realised that the weather is the least of anyones problems and despite the weather the people treated him better. If he didn't have a kid? I wouldn't read much into it but the fact he does have a kid, your priorities have to be different. It would be amazing for the Kid to grow up in Paris but would it be a better environment for the kid to grow up in? Maybe Ronaldo would be happy for his son to grow up in Uniteds system - especially in that protective environment. I would like to think, he's thinking from a fathers perspective but we'll see. I think that sometimes fate plays a part in anything and Romeros form last season and Madrids interest in De Gea. I think it saves a lot of face for Madrid and United. Madrid know they cannot sign De Gea. But they want him. De Gea is a TOP goalkeeper but Romero has done well and at 30 has plenty left in the tank. That could be key. Especially since Jose likes that Pereira (goalkeeper) coming through the ranks.
FFS.. Di Marzio is dragging me in to this saga now. It would be absolutely amazing if we managed to sign him this window. Think about the excitement going into next season. We would be favourites to win the league and CL would be an outside possibility.
What if he turns out to be an alien from Mars and fecks off home after we've spent the cash?
