We have already signed an excellent defender. With a couple of more additions and Ronaldo we would be challenging imo. Don't underestimate the boost signing him would be for the rest of our squad.

Tbh our main problem last season was finishing chances, we made plenty but just didn't put them away. Ronaldo is the best pure goal scorer around and we have already reinforced the defence.
I would say a DM along the lines of Matuidi and we could delay other areas to bring Ronaldo back.

The EPL has been a poor standard for a while, Ronaldo would easily send any top 6 side over the top. He's a big game machine, bring on trips to The Bridge and Anfield.

Because he's Cristiano Ronaldo, that's why. We dominate most teams in this league and he would annihilate them with ease. Also, the idea of him being worse than Rooney is utterly laughable.
We had the second best defence in the league last season. You're completely right, our problem now is goals, and buying Ronaldo is the closest you can get to buying guarenteed goals in my opinion.

Of course he wants to come here. The only other realistic option is PSG and he's way above the level there. Look at how Zlatan's stock has risen since he left Paris and came to a competitive league.

Well I would look at the tactics versus rivals, with more confidence in his attacking players perhaps Jose would have taken a different approach. Regarding the general lack of chances, look at the following games:
Swansea, Bournmouth, Hull, Stoke, West Ham, Burnley, Everton, Arsenal - all draw where we had many more chances than the opposition. Obviously looking at best case scenario but Ronaldo would have single handedly turned the majority of those in to victories.
Long shot, but definitely doable.

From a front three of Lingard, Rashford and Mkhitaryan to Ronaldo, Morata and Mkhitaryan... would be an unreal improvement.
